Maybe in a couple of years when they've ironed the bugs out.
I wouldn't hold my breath, it's not exactly a new addition.

Eastern Ukraine will be back to normal when the war concludes.

You can draw your own conclusion by looking at the number of lower leagues added in the game since it's launch in 2004.

Never make a promise unless you're gonna keep it or got the player on a very long contract.

Thanks for responses, I hope this sort of thing gets fixed in the next version.
It's working as intended, so don't hold your breath.

@phd_angel Did you just come back from vacation?

@Lioncourt Thanks for your contribution.
The players are a greedy bunch and in real life most players probably do feel they deserve more money. It is indeed something that could be further tweaked and improved but still largely (not entirely) mimics real life.

But that dissonance between the way that a teenager would rationally react to a massive transfer offer irl and the way they the game functions is what frustrates people. If the game is currently not doing a great job of reflecting what people to perceive as realistic, then I think it's reasonable for players question that.
SI needs to balance real life with what works in a video game. I don't agree with many of the choices they've made and this one is not necessarily an exception.
I do however understand that wage budget management is one of the things that makes the game more challenging (and to me more enjoyable) and if SI made it so that us managers could pick up players from poor parts of the world for minimum wage, then that challenge would be greatly diminished.

@Bojanbbz94 You're adding way too much real life stuff into this game mechanic issue. The EPL has a much higher wage budget than the Danish Superliga, therefore SI has made it so that especially highly gifted players will demand more when those clubs come knocking. It matters very little what they're currently earning.
After the negotiation fails, the player resets and now re-evaluates his options. FCK may then be the best of the rest and he'll demand an outrageous amount of money from them, relative to what they're already paying (much less than the EPL club offered because they're no longer a factor).
On a side note potentially playing Champions League with FCK is much more attractive than U18/U21 matches for Everton, Southampton or West Ham. In general the EPL is infamous for being a bad place for young players looking to develop into first team players.

No but some countries do.

Could be down to you having raised the wage average since last negotiation. Or it could be the fact that you have a lot more unused cash in your wage budget this time.

It bothered me a bit back when I jumped on the series but I've gotten used to it by now. I still think you've got a point though, @Mr. Ru.

I didn't find this survey to particularly well made and think you probably should have done some things differently.
I did how ever spend the time to fill it out and hope to see the results when you've completed it.

Probably not.

It helped me greatly to change my mindset from thinking it's like real football to it's just a game with associated limitations. After that it's not so much a question of what you would like to do and how it could be done in real life. But more a question of what's strong in this version of the game.
So instead of trying to make your own tactic work, simply look up what's actually effective and work within the confines of that. What works the best tend to vary quite a bit from FM to FM.
Reading a lot of posts on the forum can also help you clear up misconceptions (including stuff you probably didn't even realize you had a misconception about).

Looks very good stat wise but legendarily short for a CB?

Oh don't get me wrong, I won't act on it as it's ridiculous considering the circumstances. He is still locked in for another ~ 3 years. The demands just seem unrealistic to me after 9 months of fairly average performance and already being the top earner. Must have forgotten he joined Famalicao instead of still being at Chelsea.
They are a greedy bunch for sure, but that again seems to mirror real life rather well.

In real life most players would have (pre-concern) is starting to feel he deserves a new (better*) contract.
It's up to you how to deal with it and we're by no means forced to act on a pre-concern like in your example.

Do you think its an issue or that it mimics real life?
I think it's something that could be tweaked and probably improved upon, but largely mimics real life.
20 hours ago, MrPompey said:One of the most annoying things I see is players demanding higher, often 60-100% higher salary,
I usually lock up young players on long and very low paying contracts. It's therefore no surprise that their new wage demand see a dramatic increases of over a 1000%, once they get to renegotiate their contract.
If I buy a player from a poor country with a pitiful average wage, it's also no surprise when that player demands exponentially larger than his current. After all it's usually in line with the average wage in my league/club and usually connected to the amount of money I have free on my wage budget.
Even bad players can get away with big demands when the good times gets going.

@MrPompey - Surely you've played enough FM by now to know that stuff like wage doesn't stand on its own in a vacuum?

Not sure why, but once I hire a player, his rating often drops by half a star...
At that point it changes from the scouts opinion to what ever staff member you have selected to provide you with their opinion.

Clearly and obviously - it has nothing to do with you refusing to face the real problems.

What constitutes a fun match rule?
You've given some incredible generic foreign player limitations as examples, surely that's not what you're going for? If it is however, then probably try Italy as their handling of non-EU players seems like pure guesswork.

Old and slow but good players

Surely you already know that a players speed is highly dependent on the tactic you utilize and likely what you're playing against.
So the answer would be - it depends...
If you elaborate and use specific examples then you'll probably get better answers.
