  1. I play a low block on balanced mentality with a 3 at the back system and have had decent success. I find adjusting the defensive line is really important. Lower, Standard and Higher depending on the level of the opponent and how they look to attack you. I also close down any wide attacking players as I find if they run at my defense it causes them to back off and condense too much. Trap outside works well if you have good wingbacks as they make lots of interceptions. Edit: I find the play out from the back instruction unnecessary on lower mentalities, especially in deeper formations where there are already plenty of short passing options.
  2. It's pretty balanced and can be used for defensive or attacking football. I'm currently using it as a defense first tactic and it's working really well. In a low block it drops into a 541 and is hard to break down.
  3. Great project, hopefully we'll see more in the future, and some of the contributors go on to write more. Absolutely agree with the last point! Reading people's responses to a piece you've written would not be something I would personally be excited about 😅
  4. It's really nice to see so many varied tactics working. I skipped FM22, but certainly in FM21 and prior editions it was much more complicated to get many types of tactics working well. Appreciate everyone's efforts.
  5. Try thinking of it more in terms of risk taking. A player will be more likely to get forward, attack the box, try risky passes, shoot at goal etc Also they will show less concern about leaving space behind them for the opposition to attack.
