  1. Belgium - 2060/61 Season Summary Pro Jupiler League - WINNERS A close run thing again as I prioritised the Champions League and mostly played the kids in the league. They did really well but still aren't really developing as fast as I'd like. None of them have really challenged me to drop one of the senior players in their stead. So, we won the league stage and went into the champions group top - this is where the title is really won and lost. And we almost did lose it with some inconsistent performances, having to rely on a final day victory over Standard to clinch the title again Champions League - Round of 16 Having finished second last season we had to go through the league qualifying rounds, which can always be a potential banana skin. We managed to navigate them quite easily in the end though and were rewarded with a really nice set of fixtures for the league stage. We did pretty well, albeit with only two victories, qualifying for the knockout rounds without too much trouble. A brilliant pair of performances against Newcastle saw us take on PSG in the round of 16 - despite two excellent performances we were narrowly beaten and have got to try again next year.... Players Nikolaus Veebruggen 58C - A really nice surprise as he was just a cover defender really. But did really well when called upon. Strangely, he's still not first choice but I try and rotate him in as much as i can. Rated a leading Pro Jupiler League already, which is nice, and the coaches reckon he could still improve a lot. Guus Knol 59A He's gonna be a superstar! Still only 17, he played 48 first team games this season. Towards the end of the season the media dubbed his a genuine bone fide wonderkid - not sure i've ever had one this young tbh. Currently on a 5 year (2+3) contract, i need to get him signed up longer! Youth After the last few seasons of fantastic youth intakes I was half expecting a rubbish one, so I wasn't too disappointed when it came in. Career
  2. Belgium - Lyra Lierse - 2059/60 Season Summary Pro Jupiler League - RUNNERS UP Really frustrating, we should have won it easily. By christmas we were at least 9 points clear but then had absolute brain fart and threw it all away. To be honest, in Belgium it doesn't really matter as the Championship group is effectively worth double points and it's there that we've won the title before. This year though, we struggled, only winning 4 out of the ten matches. But we played leaders Kortrik on the final day of the season - win and we'd be champions! we drew.... Champions League We started brilliantly! and then..... eep. Still qualified for the knock out round and actually put up a pretty good fight against Arsenal but just didn't quite have enough Croky Cup We won it but really, who cares? Players Top Scorer: Sam Straetman 51A - 40 in 46 games Top Assists: Sam Straetman 51A - 14 in 46 games Turning into an absolute superstar, and just signed an 8 year contract as well. 30 Belgian caps at only 24 as well, I got high hopes he could become our all time top player. Look how good he looks now Wonderkids One problem is the ludicrous number of huge potential youth players atm. I can't play them all! but these two made the NxGN list, which was nice Adam Daniels 57D - left back and left winger who I gave the first choice left back slot too. He did pretty amazing all told. Still only 18 and a very high ceiling in terms of ability Svenne Schlabertz 55A - a real conundrum this one. Clearly really talented, but an absolute toilet of a person. Has so far missed FIVE matches as he's been seen falling out of nightclubs the night before. He's been mentored by our most professional pros but he needs to sort his nonsense out. Especially as he's now a bone fide wonderkid! Youth After three ridculously good intakes I was looking forward to another amazing intake. And given that 3 star CA these days makes a star Pro Jupiler League player even top talents could be great. So what did i get? Mateo Pinto looks like he could be a real star in the future, although he'll have a job shifting my first choice keeper who is also Belgium's first choice. He's class! Career
  3. Belgium Season Review Pro Jupiler League - WINNERS Our fourth title in a row! and again we did it in the Champions Group, turning on the style when it mattered the most. 5 victories in a row seasled the title before the fina game, which is just as well as we lost it to Club Brugge Champions League A mixed bag. We did ok in the league stage, but two hammerings from Premier League teams wasn't a good sign. We were a lot closer against Barcelona. Once we got past the league stage we had our best run yet! all the way to the quarter finals where we pushed Liverpool close. Although we lost the second leg 7-3 it was a lot closer in terms of chances and xG so a definite improvement on that 14-0 defeat a few years back! Players Top Scorer - Sam Straetman 51A - Been our main striker for the past 3 seasons. He's happier as an attacking midfielder and struggled this season, although that maybe because he spent the entire season with his morale in the dumper because I turned down an offer from Man City for him. Not sure whether to keep him up front next season, 21 goals from 45 games in our formation is pretty poor really. Top Assists - Amin Saadi 45B - Now 31 and with over 100 caps for Morocco behind him he's a really important player for us. Usually plays right wing, giving the younger players so valuable experience Top Average Rating - Stephen Guilen 49G - winner for the second year running! Interesting as he was never supposed to get anywhere near the first team, let alone become a vital cog. But when Bodson and Dumont left in created a vacuum in midfield into which Guilen was sucked, just as a filler at first. But every time he played, he did good. and he still does good! Wonderkids I got 6 more seasons to try and sign him up to a longer contract! he is ridiculously good! Youth Another pair of As in the preview got me excited and my new HoYD did not let me down. Only two elite talents, but what talents! Guus Knol is predicted to be a once in a generation talent! he does look pretty, pretty good! and his mate isn't too shabby either, Finance and Upgrade By far the most exciting thing this season. The Libby Shuss Stadium is on its way!!!! Career Well, might be our best season so far in the champions league but we're still not close. But we have by far our best set of youth prospects so far this save, potentially even better than 2039 (which was a crazy year) so who knows?
  4. Belgium Season Review Another really good season from us. We were solid in the league but once we got to the champions group we were amazing. 8 victories and a draw saw us romp to another league title. Being that i'm still in a transitional phase it was especially pleasing Champions League we had our best league stage for a long, long time with some excellent results getting me all excited for the knockout rounds. But again, we went out in the knockout play-off round, this time on penalties against Wolfsburg. I've still not got anywhere close in the CL Players These two will hopefully be my centre back partnership for the next 10-15 seson. Only problem is Boon is already asking to leave to play with a stronger squad..... Youth another really nice preview and intake! Only issue is the two best prospects both have light-hearted personalities, which isn't great. Hopefully a bit mentoring will knock that out of them. But the biggest news was the retirement of my HoYD who I've had since 2026. He was a model citizen, amazing stats, brought me through so many amazing player. And now he's gone.... His replacement? this fella! Career
  5. Belgium A really weird season that at one point looked like it could be a total disaster which then turned into an unlikely triumph. Belgium has this thing where the boards really like you to run a negative transfer balance - in other words sell players to make money. If you don't, they can take control and sell your players for peanuts. As we've had 100m+ in the bank it's not something i've had to worry about for the last 20 seasons so I stopped looking. And then, in January, the board told me they were taking control of player sales and promtply sold Ma Xi47B, our best player, for 43m to Marseille. But.... I had turned down a £128m off for him in the summer, and he really wasn't happy about that. He thre his toys out the pram, stomped around the club, told everyone how much he hated me and totally split the club in two. When he left our morale was low and we were not looking good. But once he left, things started to look up. The morale came back, we startd playing with a bit of pizzazz, we finished the season strongly and weren't in too bad a shape for the championship group. Which we then dominated to seal an unlikely title win, our sixth! Champions League We were terrible! and yet somehow managed to get through the league stage where we were narrowly beaten by Sevilla in the knock out stage Wonderkids Still only 18, Boon looks the real deal! A nice surprise was my midfield prospect named as a wonderkid, just as i was starting to lose faith in him Youth losing Ma Xi was a blow, i could really do with a decent intake to soften it. and by golly we got one! Three As in the preview got me :-o but four elite talents got me :-D The best two look potentially really good - not sure who will be a striker and who a winger but both still have a bit of work to do Career belgium is fun, but wile we seem to have the domestic side sorted we are still really struggling in the Champions League. Still nowhere near!
  6. Lyra Lierse - Belgium - 2055/56 Pro Jupiler League - WINNERS Not a bad performance for what was supposed to be a transition season as I eased out the class of '39. We were so far ahead of the rest of the pack it was almost silly. Despite starting the Champions Group 9 points clear we still almost managed to throw it away, having to rely on a result in the final game of the season to see us over the line Croky Cup - WINNERS Domestic double winners! not a bad transition season! Champions League - Out at league stage well, this is where it all fell down. We were pretty appalling really, even though it was a difficult draw, but a lucky result against St. Ettienne meant we could qualify if we beat FC Kobenhavn in the final game. We were rubbish, we didn't PLAYERS Bit of a mixed bag with the transition. Our best player was still Beau Bodson 39A, who is leaving for Saudi at the end of the season. But we did get a couple of youngsters pop up on the NXGN list, so swings and roundabouts I guess We'll miss Bodson - look how consistent he's been for us! But we need to look to the future now! If I had Brieuc Boon 54A 15 years ago I might have completed the challenge. Our defence was always our weak spot but it looks like we might have found the answer in Boon We also had the winner of European Golden Boy in our young Swedish winger. But he's 20 now and not quite where I'd like to be at that age. we'll see I guess. Youth An underwhelming preview and intake. Nice to see our affiliate clubs paying dividends though with a nice range of nationalities. Career We're still a mile off the Champions League, it seems. Maybe we just need a lucky run in or something?
  7. Belgium - Lyra Lierse - 2054/55 Pro Jupiler League - 3rd For the last 10-12 season the class of 2039 has been the cornerstone of the side. But with them all (Laurent Dumont 39A, Beau Bodson 39B, Nicaola Giovenco 39C, Eloi Desmet 39E) being 31/32 I thought this was the perfect season to start giving some more game time to my promosing youth players. Well, that plan backfired! All 4 of them complained about losing game time, half the squad agreed with them, half against them, and it was a real struggle with morale. Not helped by the fact the kids did well when they played, and the Class of 39 were still starting way more games than not! We also struggled after our 14-0 humiliation against Liverpool so in the end it was quite an achievement to finish 3rd! Croky Cup - Runner Up again.... ah, who cares? stupid cups, i just played the kids. and the elders got really cross! Champions League - Knockout playoff round First game of the league stage was great, a 6-4 home win and Man UTD. But the second game was a humilating disaster that took us a long time to get over. 14-0 away to Liverpool shows just how far away we are from really challenging. We needed to win the last two league stage games to qualify, which we did, but then we Real Madrid in the knockout round. We did ok tbf, but not quite good enough in the end and they knocked us out. Wonderkids I like the look of this fella. I might try him up front next season just to see how good he can be. He's on an 8 year contract so Madrid can be interested all they like, they ain't getting him! Youth My best preview and intake for a long time, maybe since 2039. At least two are going straight into the first team squad for next season and are gonna get game time. Very excited for this lot! The top two players look really good, especially Schlabertz. I'll be shocked if he isn't a future wonderkid. I mean, look at him! And Masson isn't too bad either, just a shame about the personality. I hate fickle people. Career So next season is going to be a transition season i think, as I'm determined to push ahead with my youth first policy, Class of '39 be damned. They had their chance! and they blew it! 14-0 away at Liverpool!
  8. second game of the league stage in this seasons Champions League and.... not sure where we go from here....
  9. Lyra Lierse - Belgium (2053/54) Pro Jupiler League - Winners! We're now the best side in Belgium, and it shows! In the league stage we were imperious. win after win after win, it was brilliant. we finished so far ahead we went into the Champions Group stage a massive 9 points ahead. 1 win in 5 games later, with Anderlecht winning all their 5, we were second a point behind! luckily we responded brilliantly and wrapped up the title beating Anderlecht 3-2 in the last game of the season Croky Cup - Runners Up We sleepwalked into the final, had a really easy game, took our eye off the ball and somehow lost it 1-0. Champions League This is the big one! Being runners up last season we had to qualify for the league stage which we managed with fairly minimal fuss. The league stage was a mixed bag but we again managed it fairly comfortably. Rennes are a really good side at the moment and were just a little bit too strong for us sadly. Players So I started giving Sam Straetman 51A a few games. He looks great and can play in 3 positions (AML, AMC and S) which is hugely helpful. And he was great! Future wonderkid i reckon! Youth I got an elite talent! which, at this stage, is nuts!!! Career
  10. Lyra Lierse - Belgium 2052/53 Pro Jupiler League - 2nd We were brilliant in the league stage excpet for a mad period around February where we went 6 games without a win. BUt we recovered and finished strongly, setting us up nicely for the championship group. We were so inconsistent in the championship group, but then so was everyone else. So we went into the final game knowing a victory would give us the title - we drew, and lost it. Croky Cup - WINNERS Second win in a row! in a competition I really don't care about! Champions League - Firrst knock out round For the first half od the league stage we were brilliant, getting some amazing results. But the second half meant we had to go into the first knockout round where we got atletico madrid. A brilliant result in Madrid in the first leg was completely undermined by an appalling performance at home. We are still a long way from champions league success! Players A nice surprise this - he was only a 2 star potential player that I used out if desperation when we had injuries/fatigue. And he did really well! turns out 2.5 PA is now a leading league player for us! Youth really poor preview and intake on paper, but again skewed by how good my best players are. 3 star potential is possible wonderkid territory! Career
  11. what I do is stick them in remove.bg which turns them into a PNG file you can use in the game. like this:- I do that with all the kits i use. hope it works!
  12. Lyra Lierse - Belgium - 2051/52 Pro Jupiler League - WINNERS Croky Cup - WINNERS Champions League - lost to Sporting in League stage play-off Europa League - Lost to Espanyol in last 16 A domestic double has to be a successful seasn, right? At home we were fantastic but sadly we couldn't translate that in continental competition, losing to Sporting in the league stage play-off in a tie we really should have won easily. At least next season we won't have to worry about the play-offs Youth A terrible preview delivers what looks like a terrible intake. But you never know i guess Career We still look a long way off a proper Champions League challenge. Mainly as my defence is so poor compare to midfield and attack, we can easily lose games 5-3.
  13. Lyra Lierse - Belgium Pro Jupiler League - 2nd Croky Cup - Semi Final Champions League - Knock Out Round kinda frustrating season where we were so close yet in the end so far to winning anything. All we had to do in the league was win the final game... and we lost it We had our best season yet in the Champions League until we met Liverpool in the knock out round - they were just a class above. We were lucky to win the first leg and got what we deserved in the second leg Players I got a new wonderkid! which was nice, as he was really only playing because of injuries! he also got golden boy! Last years Golden Boy was having a good season up until March when.... Youth This year look like the best intake for a good while, although not quite up to 2039 standards. But still quite excited by the top 3 Where Are They Now? 2046 edition Francis Azeez - back up keeper, been out on loan, probably not gonna be any better than back up though Yaro Kraftt - looked such a good prospect and yet.... he is awful! i still have him for some reason. Geilson Felicio - Great player, golden boy winner, not a wonderkid but gonna be a first team player for years. Declared for Brazil but no caps yet Aldo Coppin - He's been out on loan and done ok. Probably will be a good squad/back up player Anthony Bosc - he went to Antwerp, no regrats Fabian Gielen - sold for 20k, far more than he is actually worth Pasquale Monti - defender, not a good one either. and i'm so desperate for decent defenders. Career
  14. Lyra Lierse - Belgium 2049/50 Pro Jupiler League - 2nd Croky Cup - Winners Champions League - Round of 16 Another good solid season. we started the league with 13 straight wins but after christmas injuries and fatigue caught up with us and we couldn't quite maintain it. Still, second ain't bad Champions League was tough again but we're getting better. a 4-0 win away at Juve was the high point. In the end Man City were just too strong for us. we won the Croky Cup though, which was nice! Players We have such a strong squad now that a 3 star CA/PA is a potential wonderkid! One new wonderkid and one Golden Boy winner this season Youth Not sure if this is a good intake or not, our squad is so strong it's skewering all our ratings a bit. 3 star is potential wonderkid so who knows! Where are they now? 2045 edition It looked a good intake on paper. But was it? Loan Marechal - I had high hopes for him as I really needed a decent keeper. turns out I got myself a wonderkid who is now first choice for club and country and valued at £60m+! Lovely stuff! Joe Rhule - Yeah, no, sold last season for 14k. I thought he might make it but an easilt discouraged personality did for him in the end Enock Ndikumana - started poorly and slowly got worse and worse. Now works at B+Q Roan Vandenheede - I sold him to West Ham as I had so many players in his position and he's doing ok out there. Career
  15. Lyra Lierse - Belgium 2048/49 Pro Jupiler League: 2nd Croky Cup: Runners Up Champions League: League Stage Pretty good season I guess but one where we ultimately fell short in every competition. The league was especially frustrating.... Champions League we were an absolute mile off. Youth Our youth intakes aren't as good as they are but that's mainly due to our first team being much better these days. 3 star CA gets described as a leading Pro Jupiler League player! Wonderkids My keeper and my Brazilian left winger! lovely stuff! Where are they now? 2044 Edition Was it a good intake? let's take a look! Riccardo Basili - sold at 18 for 1m. he then got shipped on for 24k. i got a good deal! Nilton Tavares - still in the squad. i thought he might make it but the time might have come to admit defeat Amin Saadi - I didn't think he'd be a wonderkid out of this intake but there you go. He was! First team regular, 25 Morrocan caps, lovely stuff1 Lukas Bodart - He's kinda fascinating. Easily my best youth at intake for years and years and yet...... he's not really improved at all from 16 to now. I'm so desperate to get him in somewhere I've even retrained him as an MC. Hopefully he'll be a late developer? he's still 2 star CA, 4 star Pot! career
  16. Lyra Lierse - Belgium 2047/48 Pro Jupiler League - 1st Croky Cup - 8th Round Europa League - Quarter Final A really good season for us. Only 4 defeats in the league meant we breezed to the title. Even though one of those defeats was 6-0 to Standard. Ah well Europa League was fun, even though we fell to Toulouse in a quarter final tie we should have been able to win Youth Doesn't look like a save changing intake this one. Wonderkids We got another two proper ones! Thing is, i'm now so lopsided as they are all midfielders/attackers. my defence is so much weaker! Where are they now? Let's look at the 2043 intake! Just how good was it? 6 elite talents! But just how good were they? Sam Vermeulen - A proper wonderkid! My first choice left winger, valued around £40m, star pro jupiler player. 16 goals and 22 assists last season. He's great! Noah Pankert - second choice keeper but developing really nicely. Plays in cups, rated good pro jupiler with still plenty of room to improve Ryan Driesen - Poor in the end Sold for 160k, and i was lucky to get it! Mohamed Zaim - yeah, terrible, awful, now half a star potential, rotting in the U21s Roan Kramer - not good, sold for 200k, now valued much lower Sam Maes - another poor result. sold to Montpellier for 150k, doing poorly there Vermeulen and Pankert make it a fantastic intake though! Finance I'm now at the stage where I don't need to sell anyone to make any money. Which is helped by things like this:- Given how relatively poor my defence is right now, I could really do with him back in the side! Career
  17. Lyra-Lierse - Belgium - 2046/47 League: 4th Champions League: Knock Out Play-off Round Croky Cup: Runner Up Bit of a weird season really. We went unbeaten for the first 14 games, but drew 9 of them! never really recovered from that and only managed a fourth place finish in the end, meaning no Champions League next season! Champions League is still a bit of a slog, but we went one better than last season, actually getting out of the league stage. Encouraging thing was how good we were in those qualifying rounds Youth What looked like a great youth preview, with three A grades, turned into an average intake a week later when they all turned to C grades instead. Two elite talents, both strikers? we'll see... Wonderkids Another bone fide proper wonderkid! woohoo! Joseph Zola 43H was a surprise. he's only a two star potential defender, but I had to play him due to injuries and he did ok. Saadi 44B is a Moroccan right winger who's been playing really well for us and could well be a proper proper wonderkid in a couple of years. Where are they now? Let's go back 5 years and look at my 2042 intake, where I got 6 elite talents! where are they now? Mil Delforge - Belgium has this annoying thing where the boards want a negative transfer balance, no matter how much money you have. So you have to sell a certain amount of players or the board take over and sell them for you for ridiculous prices. I had to sacrifice Delforge for that, selling him to Sturm Gratz for £4.2m (when he was valued at 8-10m). He's been pretty good in Austria, time will tell if i made a silly mistake there Elliot Toussaint - star graduate, looked the real deal, wasn't at all in any way, left on a free when he was 18 Eduardo - I had high hopes for him, he looked good. Went on loan for last three seasons and was ok but never really improved. I just sold him for 40k Rafael Siquert - I sold him to Caen the next season for £350k. I had so many wingers he was never gonna make it here Liam Nys - Sold straight away to Gent for 85k where he has done very little. Brayan Verschueren - the success story of this intake! I only played him due to injuries in the first team but he performed well, he didn't totally fulfil his potential but he a good Jupiler Pro League player and a really handy squad player So, overall, a really disappointing intake. 6 elite talents and only 1 made it and only as a squad player to boot. Career
  18. that is ludicrous, it's stuff like that that makes you want to rage quit. i had something similar in Belgium when I lost a wonderkid for 61k, but £400 is just taking the **** frankly!
  19. Lyra Lierse - Belgium 2045/46 Jupiler pro League - 2nd Champions League - League stage We did well until January when transfer offers and injuries upset our rythm and morale. We responded well though and three victories in our final three champion group games managed to grab us a second place finish Champions League was tough. We didn't get a great draw and only two victories meant we went out at the league stage. We really struggled with squad depth meaning i was forced to play unready 16 year olds at places like the Nou Camp. League still takes priority atm. Players The most frutrating thing with these saves is knowing where your weaknesses lie and not being able to do anything about it! My striker is actually a left winer and my defence is a different class to midfield and attack. sadly, a much lower class Youth Players Some nice looking prospects coming through, not least these two fella-me-lads Where are they now? I really like it when people revisit past youth intakes to see what happened, so I decided to do it too. 5 years seems a good number so here's what happened to my 2041 intake:- Mohamed Lakhdar - was he really a 4 star potnetial youth? he stunk the place out and left on a free after 2 years with his potential dropping to 2 stars Renzo Wouters - Sold to Cercle Brugge for 100k where he's doing..... not great. Gregoire Lacroix - Might be the one that go away. Natural at AMC but accomplished at MC or striker, I could never really decide where he would be best suited. As a result he just filled in here and there and ended up being sold last season for £1.4m to Gent Roan Willems - European golden Boy and a leading Pro Jupiler league player. First choice DM, he's great. Rodrigo Njoh - Nah, rubbish sadly. Kept him around to see if he's improve but if anything he got worse. Offloaded to Antwerp for £200k, which we were frankly lucky to get Cyrille Keita - Surprised to see him as a 4 star at intake. He quickly got downgraded to a 2 star potential and sold only 2 years later for £140k So, for what on paper looked a great intake, it was actually pretty poor, only redeemed by Willems. But if I ccan get one plyer like him a year I'll be very happy so.... swings and roundabouts I guess! I might do 2039 one day - three of them are my best 3 players and all in the Belgium squad. that intake was insane! Career
  20. Lyra Lierse - Belgium 2044/45 Jupiler Pro League - CHAMPIONS! Well this was a surprise. We started with a 5-0 away win and didn't look back! the whole season was a procession to be honest. We didn't lose until February and only lost once in the Championship group stage as well. We were fantastic from start to finish Players So, what changed? 1. New tactic playing to the strengths of my best players Moving Bodson to right wing was the key. He was amazing, top scoring with 22 goals and getting 9 assists 2. best players all signed new contracts, wanted to stay and kept high morale all season 3. we surfed the morale/form wave all we could! 4. These two came through and developed really, really well youth We are getting amazing youth intake after amazing youth intake. I love it here! Finance Biggest problem at the minute is our board insisting on a negative transfer balance every season. It means they want us to sell players to a certain amount each season or they'll take control of transfers and sell players for us. so every year i have to sell someone i don't want to, and with Beau Bodson 39C and Lauren Dumont 39A having release clauses in their contract, there's a good chance it will be them sadly. It's going to make challenging for the Champions League really difficult Career
  21. Lyra Lierse - Belgium 2043/44 Not so much inspired by but rather shamelessly stolen from @glennuk, I asked Chatgpt to write a poem summing up this season:- In Lyra Lierse's realm, where dreams do sway, Inconsistency's shadow casts its play. With wonderkids, they dance on fickle grounds, Where triumph's heights meet depths, profound. Oh, Lyra Lierse, once poised to soar, With talents bright and dreams galore. But fate's cruel hand, it seemed to jest, Leading them to finish lower than their best. Two seasons past, where hope did gleam, Third place finishes were not just a dream. But this season's tale, a bitter pill to take, Tenth place finish, frustration awake. Wonderkids, they sparkled, yet sought to flee, In search of fame where they could truly be. Their hearts torn between loyalty and desire, Inconsistency's burden, a relentless fire. In Lyra Lierse's saga, echoes of dismay, As victory and defeat share the day. The agony of falling short, it stings, Yet hope still spreads its resilient wings. Though tenth they finished, not where they aimed, In Lyra Lierse's heart, ambition remains untamed. For in the realm of football's ever-changing game, Tomorrow's promise may yet rekindle the flame. Yep, we were really frustrating! Our results in the second phase summed up our season perfectly Players So why did it go so wrong? Well..... our wonderkids! Laurent Dumont 39A - our best player by a mile decided, the day before the first game of the season, he wanted to leave. Spent the entire season sulking with morale as low as it can be only to decide, the day before the final game of the season, oh sure, i'll stay after all. goddammit. Beau Bodson 39B - fantastic name, rubbish attitude. Sulked himself silly all season as 'the squad wasn't strong enough' Eloi Desmet 39E - this one annoys the heck out of me. i pressed the wrong button. He decided as a result of that 'too many promises have been broken' and sulked all season too Those three are my first choice midfield and all three spent the season throwing their toys out the pram and crying to their nannies. Wonderkids These two were a nice surprise. not official wonderkids yet but looking strong with these two bone fide wonderkids in central midfield we should have done so much better:- Youth Another great preview and intake, and although only 4 elite talents the star graduate more than made up for it. I'm gonna change tactic just to fit him in the team next season, he looks that good Career
  22. Lyra Lierse - Belgium jupiler Pro League - 2042/43 An almost amazing season. We were great, challenging for the title right up until February, when we went on an awful run winning only one of the last seven games. Enough to qualify us for the Champions group, but no enough to challenge the title We regained some form in the champions grouo, even beating Club Brugge 4-0, but we just couldn't do enough to get into the Champions League slot. Another Europa League campaign it is! Europa League was fun, right up until we got Club Brugge who took advantage of our poor run of league form to batter us. We did get revenge in the champions group though Youth Another great preview and potential intake! I love Belgium's youth intakes! The future is looking very bright, so long as the board doesn't do anything stupid.... Wonderkids he wants to leave us sadly.... but he is on a very long contract so we'll see Career I'm in a good position at the minute. Is a Belgium completion possible? it's still a way off it is.
  23. Lyra Lierse - Belgium Jupiler Pro League - 2041/42 After two appalling games to start the season I decided to change formation - and we went on a run of ten wins out of twelve! We couldn't quite maintain that pace but we did enough to qualify for the Champions Stage. We were too far behind Anderlecht to challenge for the title but we managed to win 6 out of the 10 gamnes to finish 3rd and qualify for the Europa League Players The new formation was partly to fit my golden generation from 2039 in. For one game I had SIX graduates from 2039 playing! it was great The only issue with this formation was up front. I just couldn't get anyone firing consistently up there, and Adam Vanderheede 30C, our crazy consistent player, had nowhere where he really fitted in. So, work in progress! Wonderkids We got one more! We also had to sell one Youth Another cracking preview and intake! Maybe not as good as 2039 but really not far off. Six elite talents is crazy good really. Career
  24. Lyra Lierse - Belgium Jupiler Pro League - 2040/41 A bit of a step back after two really good seasons. We were close to qualifying for the championship group but no wins in the last 3 meant we just got pipped for 6th and had to go in the second group. We started top, by a point, but couldn't compete with Genk who won 9 and drew 1 of their ten games to get into the European play-offs. So no European football for us next season! It's a shame as we had great fun in the Europa League and all those extra games meant lost of chance to give my growing army of promising youths a run out. We did pretty good really, all the way to the last 16! Youth Another really nice preview and intake. To get this many elite talents at this stage is amazing. I love exceptional intakes in Belgium! Wonderkids Another possible pair of wonderkids from my golden generation of 2039 My first official wonderkid, Chris Kabeya 31C, i had to sell to Atletico Madrid last season. He barely played so when I saw his 50% sell on fee available for 8m I jumped at it. Good move too, as he went to blackburn for 9m a couple of months later. He's playing there! Looks like that money has already been earmarked by the board however Career Next season we're gonna try to get back into Europe. It was too much fun not to! I still think we're a little way off a title challenge but the last 2 or 3 youth intakes have been pretty, pretty good so we might not be too far off.
