No boxed copies on FM22 available here in Australia yet only ones I can find are from the UK which are all region locked. Looks like I have a long wait for FM22. Would've thought they'd be made available locally on release day but still nothing.

My steam client here in Oz still showing FM22 available on 10/11/2022.

I will still have to wait until a physical copy is made available for sale here in Australia. The price of wanting to put that extra FM22 case on my shelf with the rest of the collection

Someone wasted no time upgrading to a new Alder Lake rig?

I did think about that but the criteria is a bit too broad. ill write down the average when the time comes, discounting those who run everything as we have a test for that already
Makes sense. Looking forward to the next iteration of the test and a good idea to have a new test that can cover an average game setup.

I think yearly release is still best plus SI have licensing obligations to consider.
Yearly releases work better too in terms of career/team stories. I find the clear demarcation between releases helps elevate my experience and memories of teams I've managed, every year is a new adventure managing a football team. If FM moved onto a longer release cycle, that experience and yearly uniqueness would be lost and make the game more dull.
The way SI have re-arranged their development cycle to be more agile based I can see this having a bigger impact feature updates in the future.

I wonder if creating a Poll topic would be easier to get the info you need and visualise the results?

My core setup is Europe centric with Brazil and Argentina added and mostly based on real world transfer movement and league standings per Transfermarkt data.
My setup:
- Nations - 21
- Leagues - 30
- Player Database - Custom (Large +)
Player total is about 94,000.

Argentina and Brazil are South America South? Uh, ok.
Seems someone at SI didn't look at a map
Should be more like the following:
South America (East) Brazil South America (East) French Guiana South America (East) Guyana South America (East) Surinam South America (North) Bolivia South America (North) Colombia South America (North) Ecuador South America (North) Peru South America (North) Venezuela South America (South) Argentina South America (South) Chile South America (South) Paraguay South America (South) Uruguay

Intel Alder Lake CPUs were announced today, now I have to decide whether to wait for reviews on the 4th November or go ahead with a Ryzen 9 build. Keen to see how the new Alder Lake CPUs perform in FM.

Yeah I won't be doing the FM22 thread till the full release, there's a few kinks that need ironing out as far as i can tell
For the FM22 thread, can I suggest a RAM Timings column be added and expressed as CLxx-xx-xx-xx so people can provide this detail for their systems? Would really help when comparing close results to see what RAM timings people have for their RAM.

The reason was that there was no physical copy available in my country at the time, had to wait till the turn of the year and I couldn't wait, so I just got the Steam version.
I actually disliked Steam and I think one of the previous versions sort of forced you to play via Steam (or I just hadn't ticked the right boxes) so I felt trapped into thinking that I can only play it via Steam, so I eventually converted to heathenry.
Can understand, I have to do the same and wait for the physical copy becomes available here in Oz but have to pay premium price. This year I want to try and get it earlier by pre-ordering.
Nobody from SI staff have been able to answer yet so I have submitted a Support tick with SEGA and hoping I will get a answer back soon.

I’m so pleased I’m not alone in that thinking!
also relieved I’m not alone in collecting lol
Something about seeing a row of FM titles on my shelf makes me feel warm inside. Still missing some from the CM days (mainly pre 01/02) might have to hit up eBay.

Realizing now that I'm marking a 10 year anniversary of digital versions.
Heathen!

It pains me to say it but after 20 years of accumulating the boxed copies I’ve now resorted to digital purchases. I miss the days I’d cycle/drive out to local shops to pick up the game on release day.
one bonus is that digital can be cheaper though 👍🏻I’m not ready to break the cycle yet Would be good if SI released a downloadable DVD case cover so we could print and add to a blank DVD case and place on our shelves for those of us who like to collect.

Aside from some strangeness in the eyes and a bit of glitter in the beard, this is not a horrible recreation of me tbh.
Got the Kenny Loggins vibe going

Feels like stepping back to the 90s again with those graphics.

I wish to pre-order a physical copy of FM22 from the UK to here in Australia as nobody seems to be offering FM22 pre-orders here. Is FM22 region locked to the UK again or do I have to wait to be ripped off by local retailers to get a physical box copy for my shelf?

I’m half Dutch, my Dutch relatives still call it Holland with a bit of Netherlands thrown in

Think I’d prefer the European scouting areas look more like this map with the exception of UK and Ireland still it’s own region like in game.
The Balkans should be their own scouting region in FM.

Don’t have the beta yet, has the recruitment meeting been updated at all and made more meaningful?

No worries.
@Neil BrockAre the UK physical copy keys region locked for Steam or can be used globally?

You can get one on shopto. It comes with a steam code in the box
I'm in Australia, forgot to mention that sorry.
Is the physical version key UK region locked if I order from Shopto? I've been caught out before, I ordered FM20 from Amazon.UK and couldn't activate the game and had to purchase a second copy Local Amazon.com.au or even EB Games not showing the game is available to pre=-order.

Still not seeing advertised pre-orders for FM22 physical copy yet, what’s the deal? I only order the physical copy for each FM iteration.
