Me thinks you'll be there or thereabouts come next season in the Champions League.

Do you have to do any teams that win Promotion to the football league as well? Or is it just these 44? Also is it like the Nearly Men where if an AI team does it will they be ticked off the list? Or is it literally you or nothing? Lovely idea for a save either way.

Just a quick update on the save. I am just starting a new save with Chelsea (off camera!). I’ve missed day to day management a wee bit so decided to take a break from this. I will be back. Just need to scratch an itch!

Thanks for the kind words! Livramento picked up an England cap. I'm routinely rejected by several players at the moment, Anthony Gordon has had a monthly phone call for 10 years from me but he is still clinging onto hope England will call him up, ironically he isn't good enough to beat Munro to the punch but still I ask out of stubbornness and spite! There is a keeper at the moment who plays at the powerhouse of English Football that is Swindon. He would be my number 1 but keeps rejecting me. What I would like is if after the age of 30 they will at least entertain the idea instead of flat out refusing everytime. I asked somebody who was 37 at the time and retiring and he still said no. Surely at that point you have nothing to lose! So many little bugs in the interviews this year. Sick of the media laughing at me because I didn't pick Patterson even though he's suspended (for a change).

I don't think this interviewer has ever been to Scotland.

That is the start of next year meaning we have the chance to tick the 7 Countries off the list required to keep up the minimum of 7 per year to finish by 2060! I didn't want to make any South American Friendlies because I could see them at the World Cup!

World Cup 2034 Draw We should be 1st seeds for this. We go into the draw 11th in the World (stupid Romania). I want 2 teams I've not faced in the Group please. Don't care how good they are. I just want to tick Countries off. We have stalled slightly and I'm not ready for it! Yes Ruud it IS hard to believe. Got to be happy with that. Got my wish. A chance to tick off 2 more Countries including another South American. Neither game will be straightforward. I'm looking forward to it!

World Cup Qualifying Round Up For the first time this save I really didn't want to sit through a game. After that performance and with it being San Marino I decided to use Instant Result. So lets get this result out the way and see what's happening in the rest of the World. It was like I was there! So lets start the Round Up close to home and look at our Europe went. Wales go through as group winners in what was a very closely contested Group. Too many dropped points for Switzerland and they miss out. No surprises in Group C. Group D sees two go through although Ireland were pushed by Slovakia. Once again no more surprises and England prove how hard it is to go through 100%. Italy and Germany make it through with not many issues. Same with Belgium and Croatia who dominated their group. No surprise in Europe. Lets go further afield. I'd say there's no surprises here either. Venezuela have a chance in the World Cup Playoff. I always think Africa is one of the most competition areas of the World. Mali being the 4th best 2nd placed team have a chance in the World Cup Playoffs. Qatar make the World Cup on their own. I don't like seeing China there after playing a Friendly against them! Never mind UAE qualify for the World Cup Playoffs. The two teams who finished 5th also played each other and Thailand won which I assume takes them into the World Cup Playoffs as well. You'll notice no Australia, thats because they are the Hosts. Suriname were a surprise including in the last World Cup. Well this shows it wasn't a fluke. Haiti being the best 3rd place team go to the World Cup Playoff. The battle of the New! With zero surprises. New Caledonia go to the World Cup Playoffs. Hait and Thailand go within 90 minutes of a place in the World Cup with China there despite losing. I'm lost. Totally lost. Ok so I think UAE qualify for the World Cup and China as the loser goes to the Playoff. Thailand take them all the way but just miss out. Mali get through as well. So there you go. You know every team who will be at the World Cup. We await the draw before our next set of Friendlies and what feels like the first time in a while I can tick off a Country!

World Cup 2034 Qualifying Romania (a) Nice that we are through. Be even nicer if we can get there winning 10 out of 10. We are favourites which I was expecting away from home. No words just get to it. Just when I feel like we are in a good position! That tells you everything you need to know about the half. 0.05 xG with the shot. We have an extra man. I'm expecting a turnaround. It means nothing but I can't help but by absolutley fuming. P*** poor.

The usual 3. Johnson is the number 1 for the foreseeable. McGurk fitness just not enough to justify sticking him in the squad. Erhahon gets another call up but will unlikely play.

Cheers mate. This is the most excited I've been about this team. I've got 4/5 players where the World Cup just comes too early for them but come the next Euros they could be mainstays. Just hope the Clubs don't waste them!

World Cup 2034 Qualifying Switzerland (h) The equation here is simple. A win and we are through. I'm not sure if a draw would be enough as well. Lets just win and make it certain. 5 of the 11 are 1 yellow away from a suspension. So the next game might be interesting. John Todd does get a game. Bless him. It was between Gilmour and O'Hare to start and I went Gilmour with the thought process "If we get a penalty." 1-0. Gilmour. Penalty. Munro doubles the lead. An absolute flurry. It was honestly a nothing game up until the penalty. Munro makes it 4. I don't know if this person is real or not but I'd have his virtual babies. Buchan hasn't been as automatic a place as he once was but he's taken advantage of a rare outing today. We need to remember we are playing Switzerland and this result is impressive. We blew them away. Very straight forward in the end. This feels different. This feels like we can go to the World Cup and do something special.

World Cup 2034 Qualifying Cyprus (a) This one feels like a tricky banana peel. Like Iceland away was all those years ago. On paper we should win... ...and we are favourites to do so. A few changes here mainly because I don't want 5 players suspended for the next game! Erm...well that was awful. Brennan and Doig are not suspended! Couldn't help themselves! We were patient and it paid off. Munro with the opener. Good finish from Lowry should put the game to bed. Munro adds the gloss for his second. Good second half. Job nearly done.

Hardwick will be a big miss. I think Murray Johnson has cemented himself finally as the Number 1. No random Youth's called up this time. Look at all those suspensions waiting to happen! John Todd does have an outside chance of making his debut. Munro should hit 200 caps and 300 goals by the time he retires!

World Cup 2034 Qualifying Luxembourg (h) Nice back to back Home Stint and this one should be a breeze. Expect to see a bit of rotation here. Namly a certain 17 year old making his debut. Its not a weak lineup to say the least. Nice early goal to calm the nerves. Munro despite starting on the wing. Laidlaw is going to retire with a very impressive International Record because of games like this! Laidlaw with another. All 3 Laidlaw goals had to be checked by VAR and all 3 were given. He even had time to miss a penalty for his hattrick. We are where I expected us to be. Just noticed that Turnbull has all 4 assists. Boring second half really but the job was already done. Perfect so far as we push towards qualification.

World Cup 2034 Qualifying Romania (h) This is the chance to take control of this Group and push on for Qualification. Bookies make us favourites, I make us favourites. We still need to turn up and do a job. And I need to get as many games in as I can before 10. 4 players start today 1 yellow from a Suspension. Now I'm not saying today would be a good day to pick up those cards, all I'm saying is "Get Stuck In". One thing you need to know about me is, I like my stars. And finally Johnson has made the jump to 3 stars. New starter? Other than that its my strongest XI. Sorry I missed the entire first half because I had to jump off but I thought I'd leave it running. It was the Munro show. As you can see we are dominating. 4 shots from 13 isn't great but neither is 3 goals from 4 shots on target for them. Brilliant half and game should be as good as won from here...surely? Munro has been switched to the wing. This time he turns provided for Laidlaw. Why am I getting my hopes up that we have a team that can challenge!? Why!? Disappointed to concede but its of no significance really. Job done and I'm happy.

3 players can make their debut. I've got some good youngsters coming in. The next generation is brewing nicely. There isn't much between McGinty and Cairney. I think I might have found my new number 1 for a while. 17 year old Scott Strang... Half these players 30+. Brotherston is a mistake. I click use suggested squad and then adjust. He slipped through the cracks.

World Cup 2034 Qualifier San Marino (h) This is the easiest competitive game we are going to get. I want to destroy them. That being said I've picked a second string near enough. Biggest odds we have had I think. 15 years old and he is playing for his Country. I'd never take the cap off. Gilmour penalty. It took a penalty! Brennan doubles the lead. Laidlaw with a very quick fire double. Pretty much what's expected here. Laidlaw with the hattrick. Laidlaw has taken advantage of the lower side. It wasn't a thrashing. It was a win. Romania and Switzerland have drawn which is brilliant for us. Looking good so far.

World Cup 2034 Qualifier Switzerland (a) On paper this was going to be our trickest game. Romania have 6 from 6 but like us haven't really played anybody yet. Bookies think it will be close but have made us the underdogs. Just the way we like it really. Our strongest XI here. Chance to tick another Country off. A brilliant team goal and we lead. The lead didn't last long however. Doak heads us back into the lead. We deserve the lead at the break. We need to kick on now and but the game to bed. A brilliant free kick after a red card gives us the win. Great win!
