Generally the industry does use a lot of external QA, but not really at SI. We have a full dedicated internal QA team who are all integrated directly into the development team. Not enough companies do that! We do have some external QA support too, but as additional support and not at the expense of internal development.

Unfortunately there's so many reasons why games can come out with bugs, and it's never quite as simple as it looks from the outside. All I'll say is that our QA team are very, very good at their jobs and are an invaluable part of our development process. It's a shame sometimes that you can't see what they do day-to-day because if you did, you'd understand just how good they are! QA get a lot of unfair stick (in general, not just in that post).

Im sorry but how does this help us? Of course we are not stupid, we understand there can be problems. But there is an issue if you are not honest about it. And right now there's no transparency or communication at all.

    Same as always, then.

This thread is a toddlers' tea party - hysteria, screaming, tantrums.

I'm happy with the game and I've not seen anything that negatively impacts my ability to play or to enjoy it. Sorry if you don't feel the same way.

Warlock Ive seen and respect your opinion a lot around these forums. But calling us other loyal fans that have been here for decades toddlers for not willing to fall into lies, broken promises, marketing ******** and what not is a joke.

You are part of the problem, I just have to say it. This is why exactly SI get away with what they do year in year out. People like you who do not understand others opinion and just keep on buying a full priced game with broken features that they promised for.

Yes, I agree. We are a very small community here, passionate about such issues. The average player sees the Feature Roadmap and thinks "This has to be it, if they say AI decision making or ME has improved, it has to be, they would not lie."

Yet, here we are, with them admitting AI is not working properly and coming up with easy excuses for ME issues such as immense pass compl% - "We Interpret Passes Differently" yeah right, only last year chaos factor was a thing, now positional-Pep-football is a Must.

Year in year out same issue. There is a problem. No fix at full release. Game still releases at full price with no public acknowledgement and you have to dig deep into forums to find issues. People still buy. SI does not do anything. Same next year.

What no competition does to a franchise.

We are no better than FIFA at this moment. Tell me the difference. Maybe the game is not a casino, that's all.

Don't agree. The AI should be able to consider using hot prospects for easier home games, sub them in when ahead or change things up whenever they are down (like real life managers would do). This does not happen enough, so all the amazing prospects do not get enough game time which hamper their development, which has an effect on the overall future landscape of players, international team selection, etc.

Clubs buy up hot prospects and refuse to use them, which is game breaking for me personally, as I enjoy dynamic game worlds. Where is the new regen/wonderkid Messi, Mbappe or Haaland who already has 100 games under his belt at a top team/competition and is 180 CA by the age of 20? This will never happen now, because these players don't get their chance to play.

Clubs are allowed to use 5 subs in most competitions, but often only use 1 or 2, even when they are ahead with 5-0 at half time or down 2-0 in the 60th minute. Fatigued players are kept on the pitch even though decent alternatives are held on the bench.

I couldn't care less now if competing teams buy up hot prospects, as they will not use them anyway while I should be afraid of them developing a monster team with these additions. It would create a far more challenging and fun game in the long term if they would actually use them.

I dont understand. How is this still a problem after so long. I was checking in after years again and it seems like every year its still the same problem. I understand it might not be hard to solve, but I have no hope by now.

  5. Has this issue been solved?

Its 2 years by now and even though I haven't played in some time, I was curious to check out again.

Im getting older and dont care about all the fancy match engine stuff. Ive complained lots back then and it seems were getting a new one in FM25. Sounds like my feedback among the many others got through. But has the core gameplay been improved in 2 years?

Is AI doing better squad building?

Are managers attacking better, doing subs etc when behind and not just sitting there waiting for their loss?

Are players finally not mad about every single small thing wanting to blow up issues like its nothing?

I would be disappointed if none of these issues were addressed in 2 years...

    It's two seperate issues though.

The first thread you linked is about the issue with low number of newgens generated which did get fixed for FM22 (not the same thing as newgen attribute development).

My point is that youth and newgens seem to be bugged over and over year in year out. Not the exact same issue, but yet another issue surrounding it. The issue of low newgen did get fixed in FM22, but people were playing a broken FM21 despite paying full price for it. It got better but only after multiple updates months after FM21 released. Is this ok to you? And waiting a full year for FM22 to fix it. Now FM23 is plagued with yet another youth bug. In FM21 they took months to better it and a new iteration to completely fix it. If it repeats again, people are gonna be pissed. They already are, but as someone who has played since FM06 I see this happening over and over again. Release a version that is bugged, not fixing it fast enough, postponing it a bit to next year and oh look there is another big bug.

I hope im wrong. But if the past tells me anything...

  7. These discussions feel pointless. Ive had them 5 years ago. Ive had them 10 years ago. Even back then with the current state of minimum specs compared to other games we already concluded FM could do more graphics wise compared to other games.

These discussions go on and on while some cling on to the hope that SI will do major changes despite still selling a lot of copies every year with no competitor. Only thing that will force a change is a new competitor or falling profits. I will be back in 5 years and see if I spot any new arguments, because so far its the same old same old.

  8. Must say im not impressed. I took a break last year and I feel like in the past few years were talking in circles. I see the same points being mentioned over and over again. Tiny improvements, nothing big to the obvious problems and graphics/UI. Shame to see its still not much better. Then again, there is no competition so there is no need to push it really far.

Hi Andrew, is there any further news on this?

At this point you just wait for the usual last patch in March somewhere. They say they want to hotfix it as soon as possible, but I kinda doubt that by now. A bit of a shame that a great game is filled by small bugs (the stats are stil broken since release...) like this.

For example, Cyberpunk is a game that has been released with many bugs, but it is a game that will have continuous development over the years, being able to fix imperfections.

Did I really read this? FM has some bugs that are annoying and potentially game breaking, but Cyberpunk is beyond unplayable for some with crashes, FPS not being there and a bunch of things that they lied about. Imagine FM saying that there would be a scouting system, only for it to not be implemented at all. That is what happened with Cyberpunk.

Cyberpunk is a hot mess, FM is just a bit of a mess thats fixable.

I now will run my first test with all leagues loaded and without the advanced db, to see, if at least this setup keeps stable (I don't think so but who knows:))

I think Andrew said a save with only playable leagues without advanced DB should stay stable for a very long time. Well so very long time means not even 3 years? Its a bit annoying seeing the problem even with playable leagues and no extra options. Guess ill be back in march after all the patches...
