Same as always, then.
This thread is a toddlers' tea party - hysteria, screaming, tantrums.
I'm happy with the game and I've not seen anything that negatively impacts my ability to play or to enjoy it. Sorry if you don't feel the same way.
Warlock Ive seen and respect your opinion a lot around these forums. But calling us other loyal fans that have been here for decades toddlers for not willing to fall into lies, broken promises, marketing ******** and what not is a joke.
You are part of the problem, I just have to say it. This is why exactly SI get away with what they do year in year out. People like you who do not understand others opinion and just keep on buying a full priced game with broken features that they promised for.3 -

As a loyal customer for years and having said this feedback before.
SI are now EA in my books. No better than that scum. Release a game with features that were marketed but did not work. That is what you call a lie. A blatant lie.
I will skip another year. I vote with my wallet. Unfortunately, the majority of you dont and SI keep getting more and more copies sold of a broken game that is majorly 95% the same every year. This game will keep going this route if people keep falling for it. The innovative hard working SI that I saw from decades ago is no more. Marketing and profits are all that matters now. Us fans are nothing more than money in their eyes.17 -

Every time I read this thread, the main idea is that most of the bugs and issues should not have reached the current stage at all.
I don't know if the problem is the lack of funding and staff for QA/paid testers or what, but there is something wrong with what's going on. But this has already become a tradition. And again, SI doesn't have time to respond to and analyze most of the issues raised by users (status: open). People wasted their time doing someone else's work after they bought the game. And even this is not enough.
Like I said before. They do not care. Look at the amount of people buying the game blindly. They do not care a main feature being advertised is not working and isn't guaranteed to work at release. SI is just like EA now. No competition, no incentive to improve at all. And to be honest, would you if you were in the same position? You can put out nearly the same game every year, make more money, not fix longstanding bugs and the community still eats it up.

The Match Engine isn't something that's ever 'fixed' or 'broken'. It's a never-ending fine-tuning process that we work on constantly. It's not just as simple as making a change and releasing the new engine to the public - every change has the potential to cause knock on effects and needs extensive testing. We have listened to feedback since the early stages of the games release and will continue to do so, but the best place to raise specific incidents is over on our Bug Tracker.
I can't confirm the dates of any future updates planned after full release next Monday, but if previous years are anything to go by then you can expect at least one prior to the festive period.
If you cannot confirm updates for the full release, you are basically admitting that you are releasing a game with a broken AI feature that was already admitted here somewhere on the forums.
You are selling a full priced game with a feature you advertise that is not working. I dont understand. How can you work all year on a very longstanding issue, it still does not work and say nothing about it in public? Do you expect everyone to dig around forums? BE HONEST, like I said before. Just say to customers it doesn't work. Instead we have to rely on being on these forums which 99% of the buyers are not. Here are more users with the same issues. What is going on in one year of development? How can you sell this as a new feature when its the same old problem?
Do you understand what kind of joke this is to us loyal customers? Ive been playing since FM06 and this issue has been over a decade a problem. I understand it might not be easy to fix, but marketing PR its improved while hiding in forums its not improved is not good. Please explain this to me. Who can accept this?

Yes, I agree. We are a very small community here, passionate about such issues. The average player sees the Feature Roadmap and thinks "This has to be it, if they say AI decision making or ME has improved, it has to be, they would not lie."
Yet, here we are, with them admitting AI is not working properly and coming up with easy excuses for ME issues such as immense pass compl% - "We Interpret Passes Differently" yeah right, only last year chaos factor was a thing, now positional-Pep-football is a Must.
Year in year out same issue. There is a problem. No fix at full release. Game still releases at full price with no public acknowledgement and you have to dig deep into forums to find issues. People still buy. SI does not do anything. Same next year.
What no competition does to a franchise.
We are no better than FIFA at this moment. Tell me the difference. Maybe the game is not a casino, that's all.6 -

I said before a few days ago on here that it looked good to another user. SI Confirming this is a issue has put me off buying FM24 for now. Hopefully they fix it before release.
You and me brother. Saying it as hard as I can every year. But seeing as the sales number are only going up nobody cares.

Once again, another issue that has persisted for years and does not seem to be actually fixed despite being promised to. If years of reports can't fix it, I don't have faith it will be fixed by next week.
I find it more worrying that SI is willingly advertising AI being smarter to sell more copies. Yet the only way you can find it's not fixed is by browsing the dedicated forums with promises that it will be fixed. Not everyone will do this. Your average Joe will not.
As someone who was nearing 2 decades of playing this game, im increasingly disenchanted by this way of selling the game. Be honest, don't sell features that don't work. Do not become fifa where broken promises and features are made because they know customers cannot buy an alternative. Please. I never expected to go down this route, but it's becoming more and more scummy. I'm usually not that harsh, but after years of seeing the same issues it's getting hard to stay positive.

It is confirmed by SI that it is now an issue.
Again, completely unacceptable in my opinion that these "bugs" are the same every year. Every year we go through the same cycle. Issue from last year still persists > SI acknowledges it > problem does not get fixed before full release > still charge people full price for a game they know is bugged in some perspective for years > people like me give feedback and get completely ignored.
Fix this before release AND really fix it so we dont end up having this discussion again. Only then I might consider buying the game. Otherwise I will once again skip another year. We should not accept paying full price for problems that plague the game for years yet every year the same "promises" are made and it isn't fixed at all.
I rather hear honestly "hey we cant fix it this year" than promising it will be fixed. Because Ive heard these promises before. You cannot advertise a feature that's "new", doesn't seem to work and then promise to fix it in future updates. I dont like how the gaming industry is moving, because this seems to be the standard. Were paying full price for games with features that dont work with broken promises. Like FIFA... and we all know how they went down that road with no competition.46 -

Seems like I will skip FM for another year. Its beyond frustrating that we are being charged a full price game for problems that have been in this game for years. I said it before and I will say it again. We cannot be having this discussion again every year. It feels hopeless. We are talking about problems that are in the game for a decade. When will SI fix this beyond marketing PR promises? It feels like us customers are not being taken seriously, because every year people just keep paying for almost the same game again.
I dont want or need interactions that dont even work. Put time and effort into the important things. Feels like I've been saying this year in year out and just getting ignored. Frustrating to say at least.18 -

I dont get it. This has been an issue for years and there are not even attempts to solve it? How should such obvious examples be raised as bugs everytime. Ive been here for years and it feels like were discussing the same things over and over. I know we need bug reports to solve issues, but it feels like nothing is being done.
This was an issue 10 years ago. 5 years ago. 1 year ago. And its still here. Ive seen countless reports and threads over the time and I feel like its not being addressed at all.
I once again feel like were going in circles and that frustrates me as someone who has been playing since FM06. The lack of competition is showing again. I care little to none about the graphical improvements and new engine if we cannot fix the same issues plaguing FM since years.
Im saying this as a longtime fan, it feels like were heading in the wrong direction year after year. Too much focus on graphical and UI things. Changing things for nothing. Adding more interactions that people do not really care about. Better 3d managers and what not. All of this is not important compared to the core gameplay. This and the youth development bug not being fixed after 2 years almost.
I respect all the work that SI is putting in, but to see such minor improvement year after year while charging full price because there is no competition is making us fans not happy.20 minutes ago, diLLa88 said:It's already there:

Don't agree. The AI should be able to consider using hot prospects for easier home games, sub them in when ahead or change things up whenever they are down (like real life managers would do). This does not happen enough, so all the amazing prospects do not get enough game time which hamper their development, which has an effect on the overall future landscape of players, international team selection, etc.
Clubs buy up hot prospects and refuse to use them, which is game breaking for me personally, as I enjoy dynamic game worlds. Where is the new regen/wonderkid Messi, Mbappe or Haaland who already has 100 games under his belt at a top team/competition and is 180 CA by the age of 20? This will never happen now, because these players don't get their chance to play.
Clubs are allowed to use 5 subs in most competitions, but often only use 1 or 2, even when they are ahead with 5-0 at half time or down 2-0 in the 60th minute. Fatigued players are kept on the pitch even though decent alternatives are held on the bench.
I couldn't care less now if competing teams buy up hot prospects, as they will not use them anyway while I should be afraid of them developing a monster team with these additions. It would create a far more challenging and fun game in the long term if they would actually use them.
I dont understand. How is this still a problem after so long. I was checking in after years again and it seems like every year its still the same problem. I understand it might not be hard to solve, but I have no hope by now.

Has this issue been solved?
Its 2 years by now and even though I haven't played in some time, I was curious to check out again.
Im getting older and dont care about all the fancy match engine stuff. Ive complained lots back then and it seems were getting a new one in FM25. Sounds like my feedback among the many others got through. But has the core gameplay been improved in 2 years?
Is AI doing better squad building?
Are managers attacking better, doing subs etc when behind and not just sitting there waiting for their loss?
Are players finally not mad about every single small thing wanting to blow up issues like its nothing?
I would be disappointed if none of these issues were addressed in 2 years...1 -

It's two seperate issues though.
The first thread you linked is about the issue with low number of newgens generated which did get fixed for FM22 (not the same thing as newgen attribute development).
My point is that youth and newgens seem to be bugged over and over year in year out. Not the exact same issue, but yet another issue surrounding it. The issue of low newgen did get fixed in FM22, but people were playing a broken FM21 despite paying full price for it. It got better but only after multiple updates months after FM21 released. Is this ok to you? And waiting a full year for FM22 to fix it. Now FM23 is plagued with yet another youth bug. In FM21 they took months to better it and a new iteration to completely fix it. If it repeats again, people are gonna be pissed. They already are, but as someone who has played since FM06 I see this happening over and over again. Release a version that is bugged, not fixing it fast enough, postponing it a bit to next year and oh look there is another big bug.
I hope im wrong. But if the past tells me anything...6 -

Funny, this youth developement bug remembered me of FM22 where it was also an issue. And FM21.
The funny part is that the exact same person (LeoFM in FM21 pointed out in latest reply of first thread how it is still an issue) is pointing out again how it is broken. 3 years guys. And people really believe this would be fixed in 2 weeks when they cant fix some of these youth development bugs in years? I would be happy if they could, but think logical for a moment.27 -

My comments about Miles are the sort of thing that made devs not participate in these forums and its the complete opposite of what i wish to happen here. More interaction between us and devs. My dislikes towards to certain people here or any of SI devs, will remain private.
I think it needs to be both... a Simulation Game. Where you experience the life as manager and also has bits that make the game more fun. The game should be about genuine what makes football, football, not what is portrayed in real life, this money focus world we live in.
it won't never be truly simulation of real life, because I think legally Si can't do it, because it mean, they also should place the game the darkest side of real life football.
The thing about Miles is that his social media game is very questionable. He is blunt, cant take mild critiscism, arrogant and doesnt seem to have actual social media awareness. He needs a PR assistant badly. But if this is like any other big company, im pretty sure people dont dare actually bring it up with him and just let him do what he wants unless he is really ruining the sales or something. Would you risk your job calling out how your boss is being an ass on social media if it doesnt really matter for sales? Nah.
This is not just my opinion, I have seen dozens of people agree with this from different forums. Miles has done brilliant things for this game, but his PR game is definitely terrible.10 -

The answer is very easy. No competition. No drive needed to push the game forward.
The redditors agree with us. This franchise is the rare one that dominates the genre it is in and as a result doesnt need to do anything.

These discussions feel pointless. Ive had them 5 years ago. Ive had them 10 years ago. Even back then with the current state of minimum specs compared to other games we already concluded FM could do more graphics wise compared to other games.
These discussions go on and on while some cling on to the hope that SI will do major changes despite still selling a lot of copies every year with no competitor. Only thing that will force a change is a new competitor or falling profits. I will be back in 5 years and see if I spot any new arguments, because so far its the same old same old.5 -
I dont even blame them. They dominate this market. Why invest heavily when you dont need to? I certainly wouldnt if I was the single dominating player. My grip with FM is not that its bad, its an excellent game. But it can be so much more.
5 -
I cant believe all of these graphics discussions. The same ones were happening 5 years ago complaning about graphics and pulling up specs comparing it to other games. Its like nothing has changed. Thats crazy. And sad.
7 -
Must say im not impressed. I took a break last year and I feel like in the past few years were talking in circles. I see the same points being mentioned over and over again. Tiny improvements, nothing big to the obvious problems and graphics/UI. Shame to see its still not much better. Then again, there is no competition so there is no need to push it really far.

Hi Andrew, is there any further news on this?
At this point you just wait for the usual last patch in March somewhere. They say they want to hotfix it as soon as possible, but I kinda doubt that by now. A bit of a shame that a great game is filled by small bugs (the stats are stil broken since release...) like this.

For example, Cyberpunk is a game that has been released with many bugs, but it is a game that will have continuous development over the years, being able to fix imperfections.
Did I really read this? FM has some bugs that are annoying and potentially game breaking, but Cyberpunk is beyond unplayable for some with crashes, FPS not being there and a bunch of things that they lied about. Imagine FM saying that there would be a scouting system, only for it to not be implemented at all. That is what happened with Cyberpunk.
Cyberpunk is a hot mess, FM is just a bit of a mess thats fixable.

Instead of spamming here you could have spent 5 secs googling patch notes, 30 secs reading it and you get your answer...

I now will run my first test with all leagues loaded and without the advanced db, to see, if at least this setup keeps stable (I don't think so but who knows)
I think Andrew said a save with only playable leagues without advanced DB should stay stable for a very long time. Well so very long time means not even 3 years? Its a bit annoying seeing the problem even with playable leagues and no extra options. Guess ill be back in march after all the patches...

Im sorry but how does this help us? Of course we are not stupid, we understand there can be problems. But there is an issue if you are not honest about it. And right now there's no transparency or communication at all.
