These were played before the match engine update. Which has me worried. I didn’t update until today When I played the last 4 games before the spilt then starting my write up!

the update has been felt in my save from what I have seen so far, my bad for building a side and tactic for the previous engine. I felt I had a good understanding of it as well. However in saying that, I also enjoy learning the new ones.

I must of dozed off when it was updating at some point

At this level,I also make scouting my main priority as you never who will be interested in joining.Players like O'Halleron and O'Rourke are actually regarded as National League North/South level so it was a surprise to see them drop this low, finding players willing to join and are better than opposition players also makes things a lot easier.

Isaac Christie-Davies should also be well above that level as well I would imagine.

I'm not actually part of the beta for match engine so this is the normal for me.I play 4-4-2 tiki taka....

With it being an odd number of teams,Winsford were the team to reach 40 first the other 20 will be playing in the last set of fixtures at the start of April.

EDIT: Ignore the lack of partnerships,I'm having to use this line up for the next match due to injuries and suspensions

I think the new match engine has been pushed live mate, I have seen it change on mine. I started off hating the old version but grew to understand it and now I miss it hahahahahah

442 is pretty strong this FM, I use an almost similar version but the wingers are pushed up 1 slot and my Poacher is an F9

  4. 114 goals is insane! almost 3 goals per game... and also 3nd and 3rd had more than 2 goals per game as well.

Did you suffer with the new match engine or still working out? (to be fair I dont know what formation you play)

How did Winsford play 40 games?

  5. This makes me very nervous and also very sorry for the DLP because hes the only 1 that there to help defend the middle. Hes going to get dominated.

You have too many players (5) going forward, all those players are going to attack the box, if you are newly promoted then your players are going be worse than most and these nothing the more guy playing DLP can do to stop anybody running through the middle.

I would do this and see how it looks after 5 games, it should at least keep the middle 3 together and able to provide some protection

    • AP > DLP-S
    • BBM > CM-S
    • DLP > DM
    • Remove the underlap on both sides.

If you have your heart set on the AP-A then you need to play some protection, so the DLP and BBM need to be supporting/protection roles and remember MORE players in the box does not mean MORE goals. You need to make space and space is the key to goals. All those 5 players are just going to get into a jumbled mess.

Hi, can anyone help me? I'm on Wolfsburg. And things is going well. My team is first on Bundesliga, has good defense and ofensive players. But there this thing bothering me. My AML doesn't score goals. He has just five goals this season(my team is the second best offensive team in Bundesliga) and in previous season his rating was only 6.46, very bad. He's improving. I used to play him as IF-S but since when i started to put him as IW-s, he has participated more in construction of plays, (however with not much assists) but still not scoring. And when my backup IF replaces in, he's also struggling to score goals. The backup guy is very promising and he's playing very bad this season. So, i'm finding this lack of goals from both left wingers in my team may be happening due a tatical issue and that's why i'm here. Can anyone help?  Am i doing something wrong? Any feedbacks are apreciated :) My tactical idea: I seek a balance between a counter team with a control team. A team able to play in both styles when i need.

I will also agree with @Experienced Defender in why change if its working? but ok I can add my thoughts based on my own situation.

I use a Winger- A on the left and Inside forward-S on the right but I think the key is having the F9 as he creates the space.

    • My winger scored 12 goals last season with 8 assists, 20 + the season before
    • My inside forward scored 13 and had 12 assists, I cant remember the year before but it was similar
    • My F9 scored 48 goals last season
    • My WBs/FBs are my chief players for assists and this is also what I want.
    • Sometimes I remove my DM position and play F9 on the left of a front 2 with an Advanced Forward, in this scenario then the AF then becomes the main goal threat and the F9 is again making space for him.

I think you need to work out from who and where your want to score goals? I want my F9 to score, I want my winger to help him score and the Inside Forward is my 2nd attacking option. I also set up my middle players to get the ball to these 3 players, thats their sole purpose on the field.

I would suspect your Mezalla is fighting with the IW on the left for the ball and space? I also assume you want him (and he does score a few goals?)

I will also assume Daramy is right footed? he will need to be playing IW on the left and then Martin is also right footed? hes playing as right winger so should be.. You can try and reverse them and see what happens? Remember the IW he cuts diagonally inside, hes not a traditional winger, hes basically the same as the inside forward.

Ive added you to the list :) although can’t promise exactly where we will be by the time it’s your season!

Nice! Is there a full list of rules etc? Days played or time limits? I have read it all but conflicting requests and thoughts

    Thanks :D

The youth intake players is rather unusual.I did a test save using just England and Wales to see how it runs, they both got a similar amount of English and Welsh players through the youth system but both teams favoured the English slightly more.

I'm guessing this is because Oswestry is in England but with it being about five miles (8km) away from the Welsh border then we will get two or three Welsh players through every season, although if we can max out our facilities then theoretically we could help both England and Wales in the future.

TNS are mildly cheating however, their stadium is in England by the looks of it? They also have more English players vs Welsh hahaha

Yeah hoping both will be class acts in a few years. Pavlovic has started to come onto a game now. Taking time to learn his new position.

Stevanovic not arrived yet but hoping for big things. Although

He hasn’t lived up to it much for Piksi.

Definitely was a sore one to go out to Feyenoord the way we did. Having being 3-0 up.

anyway it’s good to have so many saves going on in Eastern Europe. Hajduk spilt have already won a champions league that’s the level we are all aspiring to now 👍🏻

I think my Metalist save has a decent chance, It will however take me much longer than Hajduk Split.

Another Partizan kid from there conveyor belt. Lazar Pavlovic was in the door before the kebbeh bid and it just made that deal make even more sence. He is going to be trained into the mezzala role he already possesses a lot of the key attributes for the role and at 18 he is only going to get stronger and better. Arguably better suited to kebbeh for the role as well, kebbeh was more of a deep lying player.

Also another player I had in my team, he never made the first 11 but was a good option from the bench. I just checked and hes valued at over 12 million for me in that save and Stevanovic  is valued at 14.5 million...

We raided Partizan you say? It pays off to have a Serbian chief scout sometimes

I love this kid! He was in my Hajduk Split side that won the Champions League., He just always seems to score goals. I am trying to not sign the same players I did from that save so for now hes still at Partizan.

CL group stage | The results

    6 games: 1 win, 2 draws and 3 losses, GD 7-12

    That was quite brutal........

Still if you look at this way, you didn't lose at home and if could turn a home draw into a win and draw away. You will be ok but that group was a killer, 2 of the best teams in the game and Napoli who can be annoying in the early years.

I do find playing in the lower leagues of the East, you can steamroll your league and it gives you a false sense of security.

Inspired by @Piksi#10 save to make Eastern Europe great again and my love of all things Eastern Europe and also the champions league I thought combining the 2 and trying to bring the European cup back to Eastern Europe for only the 3rd time would make a great project.

I was in Belgrade last summer and seeing the European cup there and the fact that a Serbian club could win it in 1991, I found that incredible. With Bucharest and Belgrade already having the trophy I ideally want to to add another city to that list.

Having a look around the transfer market their seems to be loads of top young players from Croatia/Georgia/Serbia etc waiting to be discovered. Players who could be signed for peanuts and in the next few years be the next Milinkovic-Savic or Milan Skriniar and been worth close to 100m.

I was fancying starting out as Dinamo Moscow but felt that would probably be starting out from too strong a position. So I think I will start out as Sparta Prague, a fantastic city and one of my favourites, they have some great young players coming through and after selling some older players I could have up to 15m euros to spend in the first season.

I have England, France, Germany and Italy loaded to make it competitive as well the leagues in Croatia, Czech Republic Serbia, Slovakia, Romania, Ukraine and Russia. Ideally I will l give it a good go to win it with Prague but I will look out for any jobs that gives me the best chance to win it.

Some aims to tick off for the save include

    • win the champions league with at least 1 but hopefully 2 clubs from Easten Europe

    • win the euros or World Cup with a Eastern European country

    • win the champions league with more than half the team of Eastern European nationalities

    • at some point have at least a third of the top 50 highest valued players in the game from Eastern Europe

any other aims or feedback/thoughts/ tips always welcomed.

I'll give my advice, I have done this on Fm20 with Hajduk Split within 5 seasons we won the Champions League. I also took CSKA Sofia to the final twice on FM 19 and I am currently trying to do it with Metalist 1925 from Ukraine. All those careers can be found within this forum if you want to have a read for tips.

    1. Its totally possible, Sparta Prague should actually be about the same level of Hajuk Split
    2. Forget trying to sign all the young wonderkids int he first 1-2 season. Just sign anybody from any country and age. Your first aim is purely to make the group stages of the Champions League and bank that 13 million pound bonus and if you are lucky, the 2.7 million for a win.
    3. Once you have made the group stages once, its much much easier and you can use the funds to sign the young wonderkids and build the club up this way.
    4. The good/bad thing about Eastern Leagues is that you can totally dominate the league and win it comfortably, you will then have the picking off all the domestic players. Its fairly simple to go unbeaten over several years.
    5. Serbia is your friend. Some amazing players who are very very cheap. Look at Serbian clubs.
