  1. I played in Portugal for three seasons on the most recent patch and have not noticed any bugs !
  2. Has anyone noticed AI managers staying at clubs waaaaaaaay too long even though they arent winning anything / underperforming? They only leave the club when they either retire or get an offer from a different club. Koeman staying at barca for 10 years while not winning a single league title for example. Very fun for doing a journeyman save where you want to move to bigger clubs which dont become available
  3. For me personally I think it has to be the “ask agent for availability” option. This game really adds a lot of realism to the game because nowadays I think clubs always talk to agents first. And the fact you can interact to see if a player has interest, why they would have interest, what kind of numbers they are thinking of really helps to find new players and quickly decide if they are realistic options and what kind of playing time they would expect. I also had an agent tell me for example: “he just signed a new contract so he currently doesn’t have any interest but be sure to come back if things don’t turn out the way it should.” I think that’s really awesome and adds lots of realism to the game. Maybe in the future you could actually interact even more and convince an agent to do consider your club when an agent states his player doesn’t have any interest to join. What is your “smaller” feature that was introduced with FM 21 that you enjoy the most?
  4. So during my winter transfer period the squad registration date closed on the 31st of january while the transfer window closed on the 2nd of february. This caused me to buy a player before the transfer window closed, but I wasn't able to register him to my squad lol.. I dont think this happened before, im currently in the year 2030!
  5. I have seen that since the latest patch lots of Players in my save decide to pick their second /weird nationality for the national team. For example: this Portuguese wonderkind decided to play for Equatorial Guinea at age 15... I also have this player that picked Andorra over Spain even though having 175+ PA On reddit I have seen more people talking about it, are there any other people experiencing this? Link to the Reddit post talking about weird nationality switches:
  6. Have this bug too even though I won them the league title for the first time in over 20 years !!
  7. Im not managing one of the clubs to its totally random. In 2029 Chelsea is the one the won, so maybe its a prediction for real life too!
  8. Have this too. Made a promise to not have a staff smaller than 44. However when I want to hire more stuff within the places available they cite the same promise saying I can’t hire more staff too. I would have never agreed on this promise if it meant I couldn’t higher any new stuff even though I have lots of spaces left : example I only have 4 trainers and 8 spots but can’t hire anymore until the promise has ended ...
  9. So I’m currently managing at Sporting CP (in Portugal) and they have a B team that plays in the second league. I have noticed that while for my normal staff and u23 and u19 teams I have a staff overview screen which shows actually how much stuff I have and how much places I still have left. However, it seems like for my B team this squad doesn’t exist. I also can’t find any other screen which shows how much stuff im allowed to hire for my B team. Am I missing something? Or is this something that is missing from the game? I know just hire stuff until I get a message from my board I’m not allowed to do it anymore lol
  10. I ended up leaving the club after 6 or 7 (or maybe even more) negotiations about a new contract ended in the same way: they either wanted me to stay on for 5 years or offer me close to 1/3rd of wat I was currently earning if i wanted to stay anywhere below those 5 years... non negtioable. Even though I had 60 million in the bank, 4 million free salary budget and 50 million transfer budget... and I won them the champions league in my second season, they couldnt give me my currently salary of 134k and only wanted to give 60k. Obviously you can just go for the 60K because it doesn't matter anyway... but for my RP journeyman that really didnt feel right. Btw: I also tried having a lower compensation fee percentage in my contract and then siging for 5 years. But when I did that they would also lower the offer to around 60K and I would only get a 40 or 50% lower compensation. So now Im moving on to Sporting CP at portugal lol Even though I absolutely love FM21 and I am having so much fun with my first every journeyman save... this is something (manager-club contract negotiations) that should really be fixed/improved. Clubs are so strict with what they offer and how you can negotiate that. While with players everything is possible...
  11. So I know that you can’t do anything with the money you make in game.. but I do sort of want it to to be realistic (not going for the lowest salary etc.). I’m doing a journeyman so I want to also feel like I’m progressing that way. So here is the deal: when I joined I signed a contract at RB Salzburg for 134K a month (euros). It was a 2 year deal and now I’m in my last year. The club wants to extent the contract and offered me a deal for 188k for 5 years. However, I want to only stay one more year after this so I tweak the deal for a 2 year contract (making it 3 total) instead of a 5 year one. They suddenly drop their offer to 96k. Why would me staying another year cause the club to offer less salary than I’m currently earning? I understand that they reward your loyalty with a higher salary but it should at least be the same I’m earning now. When I then negotiate it back to my currently salary they instantly cancel the talks. In real life they would easily go for the additional year but in game I now have two options: signing for more years which I don’t want or signing for one additional year against much lower salary which I don’t want for RP reasons. So now I will probably just leave the club after two years instead of 3 lol. But maybe they get more desperate towards the end of my current deal ;-) But for a football manager game.. the fact you can’t pay for your own coaching badges and things like this part of the game is pretty weak compared to so much of the other stuff. Also the fact that as a manager you can’t talk to your fans about leaving, can’t talk to the board about wanting to move to another club, talking about wanting to stay for one more year, working with contract extension clauses for your own contract. Like before I went to another club 4 days before the end of the contracts and the fans got angry at me for abandoning the club... why can’t I talk back to stuff like that?
  12. I have this bug too, does anyone know if its purely a text bug or if there are consequences to a league not completing and showing that message? Im in the year 2028 now and it has shown it for the french league since the start of my save!
  13. For me this has been the best FM in years. It just feels like it’s in a sweet spot feature wise and besides obviously the graphical side of the ME, I wouldn’t change a thing. Has been quite a few FMs ago since I truly had that feeling. So on the one hand I’m excited for FM 22 and on the other hand maybe more scared because every year things will be changed and that might take it out of the sweet spot it’s in now ! The fun is also caused by my first journeyman save which you can read about here:
  14. So after years of watching Loki Doki (who has done a journeyman the previous years) I thought I would try it for myself. Normally I would just pick a one club save and after 3/4 years I would have totally lost interest, often winning it all. I had one longer run starting in the vanarama south in England but for me after a while it feels like a drag. In the end I guess building a club / team and starting “from scratch” so to speak is what I like best. And with a journeyman save you get to experience that new thrill every time you join a new club. Also it’s such an amazing feeling to get to clubs and leagues you would normally never pick and getting to know the league, the rules, the clubs. For example I started in the Ukrainian first division and they had a rule where you needed to have a certain number of Ukrainian players in your squad. Having to look for those players and having those kinds of “influencers” really tests your skill. So obviously the real challenge is to start a journeyman without any badges or reputation as an ex-player then you really have to start from nothing. But for my first time I decided to start as an ex player but without any badges. This caused some big clubs to show interest from the start so it did ask some discipline to not go for the big fish right away. I remember marseille wanted me from start for example. But I liked it so much that I might do the above in a future try. What I also love about the journeyman so far is that you are really able to sort of set out a career path for yourself or not and totally leave it up to faith. I had a goal of going to leagues I never managed in before and wanting to also manage in Scandinavia and in the end ended up in the Dutch league (which is my home league) and until now haven’t been able to go to Scandinavia. The best feeling about the journeyman: leaving a club behind much better than before your arrival and seeing it still do great after you left So far the clubs I have been to: Lviv in the Ukrainian first Division Vitesse Arnhem in the Dutch first division Dinamo Zagreb in the Croatian first division and currently with RB Salzburg in the Austrian first division. I loved Lviv because it was a small club and was suggest to be relegated. Now it’s a club that it structurally in the top 5. Vitesse as I stated was in a league I know well, but normally I play with Feyenoord so it was still very interesting. When I arrived Vitesse did really really badly and the best players left because of it. So it was a total rebuild job I thought about staying another year at Vitesse but then Dinamo Zagreb became available which was one of those bucket list clubs. To be honest I think I liked the club least.. couldn’t really put my finger on it. I guess because even though it’s a good team, because of the league and the overall position people that were good constantly wanted to leave. And my board veto’d a few players to get sold even though we didn’t really need the money. Then RB Salzburg came up which maybe was the one club I had on my list that I really wanted to one day manage. The manager was there for ages and then left for Atletico Madrid so even though I was only for two years at Zagreb, I really felt like I should grab my chance. So far I really like it at the club. Because it’s a dominant force in the nation but making a step within the champions league is really tricky... After Salzburg I’m thinking of going to the Portugese and after that French leagues because I have never managed in those countries and they feel sort of “end game” from the countries I haven’t managed in before ! Prizes won so far: 1x Dutch league, 1x Dutch cup 2x Croatian league, 2x Croatian Cup 1x Europe Conference league Countries I have loaded up: Argentina, Brazil, Iceland, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Ukraine, Finland, Croatia, Italy, Spain, Engeland, Scotland, Portugal, Russia, Turkey, Holland, Belgium, France, Germany, Austria, Czech, Switzerland I’m already excited to start a new journeyman in FM22 and going to the countries I wasn’t able to manage this year Hopefully this post has inspired people to also go for a journeyman save! Would love to hear so if you do and obviously would also love to hear from people who are currently doing a journeyman too or have some interesting stories from the previous time they have done
  15. Thanks for your response and for the fact you guys are trying stuff to make it better. But i think that for now its best to revert to the old restrictions because have too much dutch players is better than how it is now... i guess because the league itself doesnt have any EU/Dutch player restrictions you can easily get things out of hand... so maybe some clubs should it as a club vision to prefer local players? Just trying to think with you guys here but its probably not as easy to fix it.. Btw it doesnt seem to happen only in the eredivisie it seems to happen in the keuken kampien divisie too. I am currently in year 2026 (as stated my saved started on the last patch). And the three promoted clubs are: - Excelsior - Nac Breda - Cambuur Leeuwarden Currently those clubs in my current 2026 season have: 11, 8, 9 dutch players While in real life they currently have: 23, 24 and 23 dutch players in their current team. Howeveer the problem is not all clubs follow these rules. For example: PSV in real life has 'only' 10 dutch players currently in the team and in my save has currently 6 dutch players in 2026. So even though its on the low side, for PSV its not unhead of. To grab another two examples: FC Utrecht in real life currently has 19 dutch players while in my save they only have 7 dutch players. FC Twente has 4 players in their FM squad and in real life they have 17 dutch players in their squad. However an interesting exception is AZ which I just noticed has 22 dutch players in their squad in 2026 and in real life their squad has 19 dutch players. So AZ seems to be fine. Which is very strange So as you can see that the clubs in general seem to have around the same number of dutch players while in real life there is quite a big difference between the teams. AZ is, however, an interesting exception to the above.
  16. I’ve seen this on my save now too which wasn’t started on this patch but on the last; most Dutch clubs have 5 Dutch players at the most... really ruins the experience lol
  17. So this might not be a bug but I have noticed that multiple of my players when they had internet in multiple clubs, they seemed to have a preference for Hertha BSC even though Bayern is still “the big one” in Germany in my save. so one specific example: a player of mine had interest from 24 clubs including some of the biggest in the world. He stated that had he the biggest interest in a move to Hertha, also interest (but less) in a move to Real Madrid (which is already quite strange) and no interest in the other 22 (as stated with some of the biggest clubs in there). I would honestly see no reason why a player (and as stated it’s not the first one and have seen a Reddit post about it today with other examples) would pick Hertha above Real Madrid and above all those other 22 clubs that showed major interest. So as I said maybe it’s not a bug, but I thought it was quite strange. Can you maybe shed some more light on why this would be caused and if it’s something you heard before? here is a link to the Reddit thread which shows Fabio Silva preferring a move to hertha over real... as a Portuguese player :
  18. The board never cancels accepted offers, so it’s not a bug it’s just not programmed in the game. And people in the comments have stated there were multiple moments where he himself could have objected to the transfer
  19. OMG! Yes !!! You are my hero for the day! haha thanks so much (and nice job on reaching the quarter final of the champions league ;-))
  20. Hi everyone, This might be a silly question but i remember that in old FM games there was a screen (maybe it was even on the club info page somewhere) where it would show you what position in the league you could still be. For example you would have played 20 games in the league with a certain amount of points which resulted in the fact that you could finish the league somewhere between positions 1-5 (meaning you couldnt get any lower than 5 anymore seeing how much points you had any how many matches in the season were left). I have looked everywhere in FM21 to find this same screen because I am curious if I can still get a lower position than third (im currently first in the league) but I cant find that screen anywhere. Has that functionality been removed from FM or am I just dumb? And yes I know of the season prediction screen but its not a prediction its the possible league position you can still achieve or drop to which updates the more matches you have played in the league. Thanks if anyone could help me out!
