  1. When i seen steak bake above, i have to say i was tempted. The last few have been cold and disappointing though
  2. Anyone moved TAA into midfield? If so, how did it go?
  3. Just about to start a Chelsea save because they annoy me. I'm going to be going back to the strong and defensively sound team like in the Jose era. I usually try and dominate games with the ball and its going to be a challenge to drop that for physical power.
  4. He currently plays in the roaming playmaker role in a midfield 3. He is very in and out of form, if you can get him on a free and low wages then it's a no brainer. I have started to push him out a little more and moved him to the bench while I have a look at other players. If you can get Alan Valera (probably be around £5 million) he's the one, I would go for.
  5. Update 2- Club Boca League Cup We have kicked off our campaign in the League Cup in spectacular fashion with 7 wins out of 7 with 18 goals scored and 2 goals conceded. This was until we started playing in the Copa Libertadores, and I noticed how weak my squad is. We only got 1 point away at Banfield and Defensa y Justicia and lost against Atl. Tucuman and Huracan. The loss against Atl. Tucuman was costly and we finished second behind them at the end of the group stage. We got knocked out of the quarter finals against Velez in what was a very lacklustre performance in which Velez played with 10 men since the 47th minute. Copa Libertadores We were struggling in the League Cup but our performances in the Copa Libertadores were like chalk and cheese compared to the League Cup. We got drawn against ATM, Barcelona SC and Cristal and we won 6 out of 6 and finished top of the group. We have been drawn out against Corinthians in the Quater finals and based on our current form in the league, I expect us to take a beating. Key Youth prospects We have a few players that are turning in good performances and key to how we play, when we lost Dario Benedetto I was expecting us to struggle in front of goal, but Luis Vazquez stepped up and scored 10 goals in 12 appearances in the League Cup and 4 goals in 7 in the Copa Libertadores. We also have a midfield 3 of Alan Varela, Agustin Almendra and Cristian Medina and when these 3 are fit and playing together, can dominate any game but we have struggled to get all 3 on the pitch together due to injuries. Agustin Almendea has requested to leave on a free when his contract is over, and im trying my best to try and tie him down but that's looking unlikely at the moment.
  6. Looking like a great start for you. Have you had any tempting offers yet? I started to run out of steam at the end of the League Cup and got knocked out in the semis but will do an update post either tonight or tomorrow.
  7. Club Atletico Boca Juniors Update 1 The preseason was a mixed bag while the players adapted to a passing possession based style which seemed to suit the type of players we had in the squad. I needed to get used to the players and find out the strengths and weaknesses of the team. I decided against buying anyone in the transfer window and this will be the plan going forward. If we need any replacements because of injuries or players moving on, I will look into the youth team before going into the transfer market. The players adapted very quickly and going into the first meaningful game of the season which was the Argentine SuperCup against River. We were the underdogs going into the game and controlled the game from the first whistle with 69% of the possession and scored after 7 minutes. We created 21 shots against Rivers 6 but they scored on the 72nd minute which took the game to penalties. We scored all our penalties and won the shoot out 8-7 and secured the first trophy under my leadership. We took a massive hit early into the League Cup (If you are new to Argentina football, you play the League Cup which is a group format going into a knock out stage before the League starts) and our star striker who we based our team around picked up a long term injury.
  8. Club Atletico Boca Juniors Club Atlético Boca Juniors is an Argentine sports club headquartered in La Boca, a neighbourhood of Buenos Aires. The club is mostly known for its professional football team which, since its promotion in 1913, has always played in the Argentine Primera División. The team has won 73 official titles, the most by any Argentine club. National titles won by Boca Juniors include 35 Primera División championships, and 16 domestic cups. Boca Juniors also owns an honorary title awarded by the Argentine Football Association for their successful tour of Europe in 1925. Internationally, Boca Juniors has won a total of 22 international titles, with 18 organised by CONMEBOL and the rest organised jointly by the Argentine and Uruguayan Associations. Consequently, Boca is ranked third in the world in terms of number of complete international titles, after Real Madrid (28) and Egyptian side Al Ahly (25). Boca Juniors' international achievements also include Tie Cup, Copa de Honor Cousenier, and Copa Escobar-Gerona, organized jointly by AFA and AUF together. Their success usually has the Boca Juniors ranked among the IFFHS's Club World Ranking Top 25, which they have reached the top position six times (mostly during the coaching tenure of Carlos Bianchi). Boca was named by the IFFHS as the top South American club of the first decade of the 21st century (2001–2010). It was designated by FIFA as the twelfth best Club of the Century, in December 2000, occupying the same place as Liverpool of England, Inter of Italy, or Benfica of Portugal, among others. Boca Juniors is also known to be one of the most popular football clubs in Argentina, along with River Plate. Boca Juniors has always had a fierce rivalry with River Plate. Matches between them are known as the Superclásico, and are one of the most heated rivalries in Argentina and the world, as both clubs are the two most popular in the country. Boca's home stadium is Estadio Alberto J. Armando, which is colloquially known as La Bombonera. The youth academy has produced many Argentine internationals such as Oscar Ruggeri, Sebastián Battaglia, Nicolás Burdisso, Carlos Tevez, Éver Banega, Rodrigo Betancur and Fernando Gago, who have played or are playing for top European clubs.
