What makes a good Assistant Manager?

I thinking Man management 16+ is a must to dealing with media.

Motivation isnt needed if you do team talks.

Determination? Working with youngest, Does that do anything?

What about working with youngsters?

It is hard to find ass man with high judging CA and PA

Does mental coaching do anything?

This has been covered quite a few times, it depends what you wish your assistant manager to do. But ideal stats for a good assistant manager are at minimum

- JPP

- JPA

More optional stats which can help:

- Man Management

- Motivating

- Tactical

- Tactical Knowledge

I only need my assistant manager to be good with JPP/JPA because I do the rest, but if you wish your manager to take on team talks or reserve games etc the optional stats help him do a better job.

does he have to be good at any coaching.

Take this for example: my ass man was tord grip for my 1st season with newcastle duing which i won the league.

He then left and i got Massimo neri who has decent stats for the ones you listed above (similar to grip),yet he judges the players completley differently to what grip did. Like i signed john fleck and grip said he had a potential of like 6 stars, now this bloke reckons he's 4to 5 stars

By the way grip had a good attacking coaching stat so imwondering if this helps?

Plus in coach reports more detail is given from a coach who specialises in their the player your looking at position.

E.g who is the better judge of a defender?

A. A defensive coach with poor JPA JPP stats? (gives more details in coach reports)

B. An assistant manager with good JPA and JPP? (gives less detail in coach reports)

Do you see what i mean? quite confusing...... but cheers for any help.

Thats a nice theory.

But none of the coaches have good JPA JCA stats since well they are coaches not scouts.

Most of my coaches have 17+ JPA JPP..

Check out some of the regen coaches/ass man..... They are generally very young (30-45) but comes with very good stats and most are un attached at beginning of season. and they work for peanuts too;)
