Life After Klopp

August 2024

Staff Departures

Kind of a mass exodus after Klopp left.

New Staff Signings

We brought in a new Director Of Football: Leonardo and another Assistant Manager: Joao Sacramento

Player Departures

Mo Salah alone brought us 100M and Gakpo another 40M which could rise to 57M. Chelsea also paid 23M for Endo

New Player Signings

Gavi cost us 75M, Gyokeres 60M and Silva 49M but I think this is money well spent. And of course the youngsters Gloukh and Roony! Weiper got loaned back for the season.

2024/25 Squad

Frimpong was Klopps last signing in January. Lots of Youngsters there, Bajcetic and Pitaluga join from our U21 team. Van Dijk and Alisson will have to lead the pack.

Life After Klopp

December 2024

Results

Well, out of the last 4 months 3 were good, 1 was rather awful and you can easily see which are which. It seems we still suffer from "Kloppinitia", which is the proneness to losing against supposedly way weaker teams. Case in point: The match vs Forest. And this isn´t reduced only to domestic competitions of course as we saw in the match vs Nice. While we on the other hand when everything runs nicely are able to beat every team in the world like Inter, PSG or even Arsenal, there is still always a slight feeling of Angst that Kloppinitia could make a return in a weak moment of ours. The key to future success for this club will be finding a cure to that disease.

League Table

We are doing well, nothing extraordinary, but good enough for the time being. Nice to see our players up there in the stats too. Especially Darwin is on fire.

Champions League League Phase

We had a weak moment of Kloppinitia in the Nice game, but apart from that we won´t complain. Good results here, we even beat Barcelona. This is the way.

Club News

Frimpong hasnt really been getting much game time yet and I am afraid this won´t change so we will most probably transfer list him in the January window.

Life After Klopp

February 2025

Player Departures

Frimpong just doesn´t fit into our team and Gravenberch wanted to be loaned out too, so they went. Van Dijk wanted to leave so we let him albeit for a rather low sum.

Player Arrivals

After Van Dijk´s departure we had to bolster our central defense and promoted Philips from our reserves. And we recalled striker Weiper early from his loan spell.

Results

We had 2 almost perfect 2 months, losing only 4 points in the EPL and winning the rest. The defeat against Chelsea of course hurt a lot but on the other hand we mostly held the upper hand and showed some very convincing games, for example the thrashing of Manchester United.  But especially our performances in the Champions League were a joy to behold as we beat Besiktas, Eindhoven and even Juventus at their home. And we flexed our muscles in the quarter final of the EPL cup against Manchester City, winning 4-1. Pity they are still ahead of us in the League.

League Table

The race for the title is still a tight affair despite our almost perfect record in the last 2 months. Nice to see new striker Gyokeres hitting the mark that often.

Champions League League Phase

A perfect League Phase for us. We managed to finish on top and therefore qualified directly for the round of the last 16.

Club News

We are Fine with that. But in the end it wasn´t even worth it as the game ended only in a 2-2 draw.

April 2025

Results

Here comes the first silverware! We defeated Tottenham to win the EFL Cup! However, looking at our EPL performances, we have to admit that Manchester City absolutely dominated us in the league match this time. We had not a real chance as they beat us 3-0. Apart from that we won all the other League games in the last 2 months besides the goalless draw vs Wolves when we just were not able to score. In the Champions League we continued to impress after we were drawn against our fellow English compatriots Arsenal in a very strange draw which saw mostly clubs from the same country play each other. We drew 1-1 in the 1st leg and finished them off 3-0 at home. Our next opponents will be Napoli from Italy.

League Table

Man City are just relentless. I don´t wanna give up on the title just yet, but if they keep playing like that, we will definitely not be the champions. Haaland is a machine up front for them.

Youth Intake

A very good intake this year. Morgan already has some great physical attributes.

Club News

Harvey definitely deserves it after his great performances this season.

Results

Who would have thought of an outcome like that after City being so relentlessly winning all their games during the season? I surely didn´t! But somehow they managed to lose against Wolves, Man Utd, Tottenham and drew vs Newcastle. That´s what lost them the League title. To add to their misery, they also went out against Milan in the Champions League semi final. We just continued to win our games and ended up winning it all, including a trashing of Manchester United at Old Trafford. The FA Cup final vs Newcastle was a game of 2 halves. They took the lead early and it took us an hour to equalize. Then things somehow became much easier and we scored another 4 goals to drown them. The Champions League final was way harder, but we came out on top at the end with the winner in extra time. Granted, we had a rather light way to the final, beating Arsenal, Napoli and RB Salzburg (!!) to get there.

League Table

Champions! We never gave up and in the end our belief in ourselves was rewarded as Man City slipped and fell. Still, Haaland became top scorer and was voted Footballer Of The Year.

Season Stats

It is hard to single our best player, as so many had a great season. Alisson was our solid rock in goal, Darwin scored 30 goals, Diaz scored 22 and assisted another 16, Robertson paced the left flank without any mistake, Curtis Jones also had double digits in both, he might be the suprise player of the season. The January departure of Van Dijk didn´t hurt us at all in the end. Also, our new signings did well. Silva fitted right into our central defense and helped tightening it. Gavi had trouble getting into the first team at the beginning but he improved. Roony scored 15 goals and made 15 assists, Gloukh had 8/8 there but he was mostly playing in a CM position. Striker Gyokeres scored 33 goals. What more do you want? We could still improve though. The Future will tell.

Club News

A welcome rise in reputation and I would say the Club deserves this.

Life After Klopp

August 2025

Player Departures

Fimpong & Gravenberch went for a combined sum of around 60M. And when Tottenham bid that much for Kelleher, we could not say no. Rest are loans for match practice.

New Player Signings

Aursnes is a hard working central midfielder who should challenge McAllister for that position. Yobo is a talented central defender, while Terzic hopefully can be the successor of Robertson on the left back position in the future. Although we have already signed Restes as a backup GK, he will only join next season so we needed a GK backup for now and in came Josep MartinezThe 3 free transfers from Arsenal are young players for our U21.

2025/26 Squad & Tactics

Ben Doak had been out on loan at Marseille last season and he performed fantastically there so he will get his chances. Our team seems to have become a more tight union, with the new signings only being additions and backups to close the gaps that were there. We will continue to play a slight variation of my "Lobanowski"-Tactic again this season.

Life After Klopp

December 2025

Results

The season started nicely: We won the Charity Shield and the European Supercup. And we won the first 4 League games. Then we lost to Real Madrid in the Champions League League Phase and one week later Tottenham defeated us as well. We managed to pick ourselves up again after that and went unbeaten until November when it really went downwards: Arsenal, Chelsea and to top it all off Luton defeated us at Anfield. Looks like Kloppinitia is having a comeback! Let´s see if we find the right medicine in the coming months.

League Table

We are still top, surprisingly and luckily. But none of our players up there in the stats tables (apart from Alisson).

Champions League League Phase

We had some great games like the trashing of PSV, but still lost 2 and so only hold position 16.

Club News

This has long been coming. Good to have a Championship team to send players out on loan.

Life After Klopp

February 2026

Player Departures

The Saudis came for our players and Robertson and Jota just could not say No to their money. Terzic won´t become our new star left back. Good riddance.

Player Arrivals

We had a gap to fill on left back and threw the money at Tottenham for UdogieJoao Neves could be our new midfield leader.  Ba is the backup left back.

Results

We continued to concede many, many goals. Luckily we mostly scored more than we conceded but not always. Milan made short work of us in the Champions League, we only drew 3-3 with Everton and lost 2-3 to Manchester United at home. And we lost again against them in a nine-goal-bonanza in the 1st semi final leg of the EFL Cup but destroyed them in the 2nd leg to reach the final vs Aston Villa. We also trashed Burnley to reach the 5th round of the FA vs Everton. In the Champions League, we fortunately were able to win our 2 remaining games and qualify for the playoffs where we will meet Leverkusen.

League Table

It is no surprise we are not topping the table anymore. The League remains unpredictable.

Club News

This came as a surprise but we still congratulate him. He is developing nicely.

Life After Klopp

April 2026

Results

We retained the EFL Cup! It was harder vs Aston Villa than expected because we just couldn´t score. At least we remembered how to score penalties. Aston Villa had their revenge against us in the League and again we just couldn´t score but they did. Often. We also defeated Forest 3-2 to reach the semi finals in the FA Cup and will face Brighton there. Our best performances though came in the Champions League: Leverkusen were slaughtered so hard at home in the 1st playoff leg so that we even had the audacity to field a team of bench players in the 2nd leg and reach a goalless draw with them. Then came PSG. And we ALSO slaughtered them in the 1st leg! We drew the return leg so we will now meet Chelsea in the quarter final.

League Table

It´s Manchester against us! Both of them! With 8 games to go and 3 points between us 3 this will be an exciting title race. Now is the time to show what we are made of.

(While Josh Sargent is having the season of his life)

Youth Intake

A poor intake this year. No one really stands out.

Club News

Our Academy Product Morgan is developing nicely and won his first individual award.

Life After Klopp

June 2026

Results

We did it. We won the EPL again. Despite losing to Man Utd on the last match day, which didn´t matter anymore anyway, we were crowned champions. Apart from that we won all our remaining league matches but one (a draw against Southampton), again triumphing in the Merseryside Derby on the way. In the FA Cup however, the story had a different ending: Brighton shocked us in the semis by beating us 4-1 with Evan Ferguson on fire. Maybe we should try to go for him for next season. On to the Champions League and we were able to overcome Chelsea in the quarter finals by winning the 1st leg 2-0 at home and then relying on Alisson in the return leg. We met Real Madrid in the semis and won the 1st leg 2-1 but they won the 2nd leg 3-0 and we were out.

League Table

Champions again! And we even overtook Man Utd and now have the most EPL titles.

Season Stats

We didn´t win as much and we didn´t score as much as last season but overall I think our progression and development as a club was much better this season. Most of the new players fit right in, the youngsters got some good amount of playing time and the figures were more evenly distributed. There is no "I" in "TEAM" they say.

Club News

LFC was taken over by Ashley Coxall, bringing it in English arms again. No cash injections though.

Life After Klopp

August 2026

Player Departures

This transfer window could go under the headline: "We took the money", because we really did. Alisson begged to be let go to his "dream club" and for that money this is absolutely ok at his age of 33. I didn´t expect to receive 75M for Aursnes and therefore accepted the offer from the Saudis immediately. Pity to see Gyokeres leave for Man City, but he wanted to sign for them desperately and to avoid trouble we accepted the bid. We are also happy for the money we got from selling Bradley and Tsimikas.

New Player Signings

Big name signing! Despite his age, Griezmann can surely be a decisive player for us. And he was FREE! So we could not say no to him. And I told you so about Ferguson! 70M looks a bit steep for a young player but I am sure we have a great player for the future on our hands here. Same goes for Wyprachtiger and Darvich, but they get loaned out for the season right away. And also for our new young keeper talent Markham. Maybe he will get some games in the early rounds of the domestic cups. Oh, and Restes is back from his loan and will replace Alisson as the new number one.

2025/26 Squad

We have a rather young team. Only Griezmann is over 30. Still, I have faith in the boys. But maybe we should lower our expectations for this season as I see it as some sort of transition phase.

December 2026

Results

Only one defeat in 3 months. This looks promising. We won the Charity Shield again, albeit after penalties but a trophy is a trophy. The highlight in the League definitely was our destruction of Arsenal, not a surprise they lie only in 6th. Our best and also the worst performance came in the Champions League: We trashed Porto and were defeated by Kopenhagen.

League Table

Looking good. 5 points ahead. But they have a game in hand. And Haaland is on fire again this season.

Champions League League Phase

We are lurking in 9th place.
