A lot defenders here but many can play im midfield as well. The strongest part of the team. Adi Yona is a fantastic talent. Friday is maybe our best player. Carambau Posted April 21 Author Share Posted April 21 (edited) Jerusalem Of Gold September 2023 Results A great start which could have been easily a nightmare start if we had conceded one more goal against APOEL at home. We thought we had safely secured the next round after a 4-0 away win at their place but they stunned us by scoring SIX goals in the 2nd leg. Luckily we managed to score 3 to make it through in the end. Dundalk were no real match (ignoring the fact that we conceded 5 goals against them...) but we needed a goal in extra time to defeat Brann to secure the Europa Conference League group stage. Domestically, we won every game. We won the Aluf HaAlufim, which seems to be the Israeli Supercup. The fans were ecstatic! Then we reached the Toto Cup Final after penalties and won our first League game. So far, so good. League Table Minus one point despite winning the 1st match? Yeah, because of THIS. Looks like our players like the big occasions as they scored 5 goals. The fans are just so damn thankful. In the League, we were able to win every game but of course in Europe it is a different story. We managed to snatch a point in our first game, but were dominated and completely outplayed by our opponents in the other two games so it´s no surprise we are bottom of our Europa Conference League table. But we didn´t expect anything else anyway. League Table Looking good. Just imagine we didn´t have that 4 point deduction... Europe This is no surprise. Carambau Posted April 21 Author Share Posted April 21 (edited) Jerusalem Of Gold January 2024 Results We conceded our first defeat in the league, at home and against an unlikely opponent but alas it had to happen at some point. Apart from that we won all our league matches in the last 2 months. Our best performances came in Europe though. We managed to beat LASK and draw against Aston Villa (granted, they had a red card after an hour but still) so we finished ahead of Legia in our ECL group. League Table We have only lost 1 league game until now. 6 points ahead but we also got a game in hand. Our players lead the goalscoring and average rating charts. We lost against our closest rival Maccabi Haifa. At least we are in the semis of the Gvia HaMedina. We did not lose one game in the 2 remaining months and managed to win the Gvia HaMedina and the League to complete the domestic quadruple. League Table We win the league by goal difference! And both our strikers share the top goalscorers crown! Youth Intake No one stands out this season. Season Stats We had a great season, especially the attacking players. Carambau Posted April 23 Author Share Posted April 23 (edited) Jerusalem Of Gold July 2024 Transfers A LOT of last seasons´ first teamers left. We just could not afford the wages anymore. The most notable names are of course last seasons´topscorer Fred Friday and our goalkeeper Miguel Silva. Top Talent Adi Yona wanted to leave for a bigger club and we were not able to convince him to stay so he went to Huesca in Spain... So we had to build a new team almost from scratch. Of course we needed a new first team goalkeeper and in came German shot-stopper Uphoff from Freiburg. For our defense we brought in Cypriot central defender Laifis and the twin brothers Tamir & Amit Glazer. We also signed Gabi Kanichowsky as a replacement for Adi Yona in central midfield. Sali Pahima is a big talent for the central midfield but will need time to develop. And we signed the alleged successor of Fred Friday: Northern Irish international striker Dale Taylor. The Team Uphoff is our clear number one. Our central defense is stacked now. Lots of strength and creativity here. Kabala joined from our reserves. Hopefully Taylor and George will connect quickly. Alyagon and Dabush joined from our reserves. The Tactics This tactic worked well so we will continue to play it. Carambau Posted April 25 Author Share Posted April 25 (edited) Jerusalem Of Gold September 2024 Transfer We brought in another keeper to challenge Uphoff, because the squad was concerned that there was not enough depth in the goalkeeper department. So we signed Ogundare. Results We won the Aluf HaAlufim again for what it´s worth. Then we went on to beat HJK, Cluj and even Shakthar to reach the Champions League League Phase. We received around 20M for that alone! League Table 2 games, 2 wins. So far, so good. Europe Tough opponents there but we want the challenge. In Europe we had a great game against Rosenborg but no chance against Brugge and Barcelona. League Table Topping the table. But we are not the only ones up there. We can say goodbye to Europe for this season after losing heavily to Porto, Newcastle and Aston Villa, thats for sure. It was nice while it lasted. And we gladly took the money! Domestically we picked up steam and started scoring more which is encouraging. League Table The horrible November cost us. Europe At least we are not last. We also made it to the semi final of the Gvia HaMedina. In the Champions League it is a different story but we never expected anything else. We drew vs Ajax though which is a fantastic result for us. Now we need to improve our performances in Europe. League Table 7 points ahead of Be´er Sheva! George finished as topscorer again and Muzie made the most assists. Season Stats First-choice goalkeeper Uphoff was injured quite often, so Ogundare played twice as many games. This should change next season. George scored 33 goals, Muzie and Shua both got double digits in the assist stat category. Biggest surprise and my player of the year though is Sali Pahima, who showed what he is capable of when he was on the pitch. Looking forward to see him grow. George just wouldn´t accept our contract offers. Ogundare was unecessarily blocking a foreigners spot so we sold him. We have all the Glazer brothers in our squad now! Dan joined from OFI after his contract ran out. Israeli international right back Jaber should go straight to the first team and so should winger Antwi-Adjei. Peretz is a versatile striker who can also play in central midfield. Blorian is a strong center back, Feingold is a talented right back, Kayouf will be our new backup keeper and Leidner is also an Israeli international left back. The Team Uphoff is our number one. Kayouf is the new backup. Our defense got improved on the sides. Our strongest part of the team. Yusupov already showed glances of his great finishing. Domestically we lost the Aluf HaAlufim Final, but won the Toto Cup playoff. In the League we won one and lost one. League Table 2 games, Europe This looks more managable than last season. The rest were all nice wins, the best ones versus Rosenborg and Streda. League Table We managed to put a gap of 6 points behind us and the rest. Europe We have already qualified for the playoffs. We will face German Bundesliga outfit VfL Bochum there. In the League we won all games apart from 2 draws. Smooth sailing. League Table 7 points ahead. This looks good. AND also in Europe we continued to be successful: We were able to dispose of German club VfL Bochum, drawing the first leg away and winning the return leg at home. Then we had to play their German compatriots Freiburg and went out despite winning our home game, but sadly losing the 2nd leg by a bigger margin. League Table 16 points ahead of Maccabi Tel Aviv! Yarden Shua finished as topscorer and Muzie made the most assists again. Youth Intake Meh. Mediocre again. We are starting to invest in the youth facilities. Season Stats Keeper Uphoff finally was injury-free enough to show his worth for us, even winning the Keeper of the Year award. Our new signings all did well, especially Eliel Peretz, but it was the established players that shone the most: Shua scored 31 goals and Muzie assisted at 20. We are really growing fast! A good striker, but we have better quality there now. Mizrahi wanted to leave and complained so he went. And two of the Glazer brother also left as they just are not good enough. Kleyman comes as a backup for our first choice keeper, Yesilirmak is a great central defender talent and Cohen adds quality to our left back position. But we saved the best for last: Enter the new "Magic Triangle": Toklomati, Nakashry and Ristovski are all young attackers with bags of potential who are already good enough to go straight to our first team. I´m thrilled to have them here. The Team Uphoff is our number one. Kayouf will challenge him. Kleyman is the 3rd man. Yesilirmak is the most talented defender here. No big changes here. We won the Toto Cup Classification Group Playoff 1 though, whatever that is. Then we proceeded to defeat Switzerlands Young Boys to qualify for the Champions League League Phase. It seems that we have become the Champions Leagues´Whipping Boys: Madrid, Salzburg and even Sparta Prague trashed us. Might have to do something with our offensive tactics not working well against the big teams but I am not yet ready to make changes there. In the League it looks way better though. Berkovits went out on loan because he complained that he didn´t get enough games. Two new exciting talents: Gal is a central defender and Goren is an attacker who can also play on the right wing. Results So many games but we managed to win most of them. We continued to get battered in the Champions League, this time by Bayern, but we also managed a credible draw at home versus Borussia Dortmund! Nakashry finished 2nd in the goalscorer chart at age 19! Youth Intake Finally some "Top Talents" for the 1st time in this save! And signed them ALL. Season Stats The decision to turn the club into a domestic talent machine worked! Almost all of the young attackers scored double digits. Ristovski was voted "Discovery of the Year".
