[FM23] Edsevö Bollklubb - Youth Only in Finland - Climbing from the 9th tier!

Edsevö Bollklubb, shortened EBK, is a Finnish football team that play in the 9th tier of the Finnish football system. They play their home games at Bennäs sportplan. And that is about everything I could find on them

The goal of the save, as always with a youth only game, is to go as far as possible with only players coming through the youth system at the club. I have never managed in Finland before, so I am looking forward to this.

We're in the western part of Finland. And of the little info I could find, I think they speak Swedish as well as Finnish in this area. At least the name of the club is written in Swedish.

 

Here we have the ground where we will play a lot games in the coming years!

At this screen the name of the stadium is Pennäs. But googling it shows no result. And on Google maps, the only stadium in Pedersöre is Bennäs, so that has to be it.

February/March/April/May 2022

 

Turn out the team was knocked out of the Finnish Cup the before I started to manage them! Oh well, hopefully next season will be better.

A good start in the league, even thoguh we only managed a draw against the team that was rock bottom.

There is only one game against every team this year, so we are already a third of the way through the first season!

The first youth intake of the save is rated "Good". I am looking forward to it!

We need defenders at the moment, so I really hope we can get a couple ready for first team football.

June 2022

We draw to more games, and win one. Only three points behind the league leaders, but they have a game in hand.

July 2022

First defeat of the save, and then the biggest win so far! Three points behind 2nd placed Fotbollsklubben Öja-73 with five games to go.

I've only been the manager for half a year, but the board has already agreed to upgrade both youth coaching and recruitment!

August 2022

Before the last game of the month we had the second place in our hands, but a big defeat against Öja-73 sees them pass us in the league. Promotion will be tough now.

We lost the next game as well, and our promotion chances was over. But I am pretty happy with our first season. Hopefully we get some new defenders in the youth intake that strengthen our back four!

I did not get the defenders I wanted, and the rest of the youth intake is not much to brag about. But maybe some of these players will grow in to the starting XI. Even though I doubt it.

Pre-Season 2023

A lot of friendlies, with some good results.

Last season I joined after the first round of the Suomen Cup, but this time I was in charge, and we did great! The first team we faced was PP-70/2, they play in Kutonen Länsi B2, a level above us. LeKi-futis is a 7th tier team, so two levels above us. We then was knocked out by a team at our level.

A good start in the league. I was slightly ruined by the defeat to EU (Evijärven Urheilijat). We're in a good position though.

I was dissapointed with the youth intake last season, and I really hope this one is better. Even though the rating is the same

Out of the blue we win 9-0! And it was a perfect month Six games to go. We face SoPS in the next game, it could be the title decider.

Not a perfect month in terms of results. But we're still four points ahead of 3rd placed RyPK-84, with a game in hand. We are very close to promotion!

Even with two defeats this month, we managed to hold on! We have a lot to thank that 9-0 game earlier in the season for, as that is one of the main reason we managed to win the league on goal difference!

Now this is something else! Much, much better than last season! Most of these players will go straight into the starting eleven. IF we had used wingers in the tactic. Actually decent personalities to some of the as well.

More draws than I want, and we also lost a game against the team that finished second to the bottom of the league we won last season. Still, it's only pre-season.

 

We're predicted to finish as high as third this season. That is a bit surprising!

A perfect start to the league! We have scored a lot goals as well. Looking good!

We faced two of the teams around us this month, and we struggled. Only managed one points, and it was a really late equalizer against Såka. We're only one point behind them though, with a game in hand.

July 2024

After that little blip in form last month, we are back to winning ways, and back at the top of the table.

August 2024

Seven out of nine points this month. Four games left of the season, and we face 2nd, 3rd and 4th in three of those games! It will be tough.

We started the last month of the season with a defeat to VetU, one of the title challengers. After that defeat, I got a little nervous, as we faced three good teams in the coming games. But in the end we managed to keep everyone behind us! That means we won promotion for the second time in two years!

A very mixed bag this year. Tried to play some teams of higher quality, such as Tampere Utd, and we got outplayed.

 

I am very surprised we're predicted to finish as far up as 2nd. Fotbollsklubben Öja-73, one of the teams that was promoted my first season in charge, has actually been promoted three times in three seasons, so we should be able to do the same!

What a start to the season! Philip Karlsson (YP03a) has been on fire so far, and has 10 goals in five games in the league.

We got outplayed by FF Jaro. That is the first time we've really felt the quality of a decent Finnish team, as they are a top side in the second tier.

The games this month was a lot closer, and after the Philip Karlsson (YP03a) injury, Miko Vahter (YP04f) has been our savior. The Estonian went a bit under the radar for me in the last youth intake, but he has been great so far.

July 2025

This was a good month, with a lot of close games that could have gone either way. But we managed to win most of them. After I said that Miko Vahter (YP04f) had surprised me with how many goals he had scored, he has stopped scoring altogether

 

And I just realised that we share our stadium with two teams, and we're all in the same group. Pedersöre FF (PeFF) and Pedesi Vikings Football Club are located in the same city as us, Pedersöre.

August 2025

And now he is back to scoring again! Only five out of nine points this month. Kalajoen Pallo and FC Ylivieska/2 are closing in on us.

We screwed up the title, but managed to keep a hold of the second place. Turns out it did not really matter if we had finished third, as FC Ylivieska/2 can't get promoted, as their first team play in the league above us

But anyway, that is the third promotion in three seasons! The team I talked about earlier, than won three promotions in three years has really struggled this season, and almost got relegated. So the next season is probably the year we really start to feel the difference in quality.

There is something very wrong with this view. Sakari Peteri, Kenan Molin, Joakim Nilsson, Simon Andersson and Erik Larsson does not play for the club anymore. It's not gamebreaking, but it is very annoying. I really hope this will fix itself.

Inbetween all the "Unambitious" personalities, we have a few good ones. That is great!

A looooot of friendlies! We got knocked out of the Suomen Cup early, so I had to do this instead That is the main drawback of managing in Finland so far, they winter break is very long!

 

We are predicted to finish closer to the bottom this time around. According to this we will be in for a tough season. I am aiming higher of course.

We're running rampant at the start of the league! An extremely good start to the year, and something I did not see happening. This has to end soon.

In the Cup however, it was a quick exit for us.

The first defeat of the season came against IK Myran, and by winning that game, they tied us on points. Thankfully they lost their next game, so the balance is restored

Weeeeell... Not a good month. We've lost the top spot, but we're only one point behind No Stars.

This was a much better month, and we're back to 1st. But it is so tight at the top! Yet again goal difference could be the key in the title battle.

Another great month sees us winning another promotion! It was a close call this season as well, but it helped that our main rivals for the league title, No Stars Kokkola, and SJK-Juniorit had below par months.

As per usual the first 3-4-5 seasons when I start so far down a league system will be "easy". I think that the next season will be the first real challenge.

We have a new star at the club! Daniel Stenström (YP06a) will probably be a starter for us for a long time, if he's not poached by a bigger club. Other than that the lowest rated player has 1.5* CA, that is absolutely brilliant!

I like the look of Hans Eriksson (YP06d), and he might be a new starter for us. And he has a good personality. He is a big lad as well, at 200cm!
