Runs With Ball Often vs Runs With Ball Down Right/Left/Centre

Recommended Posts

These player traits seem to be similar.

Is Runs With Ball Often basically Runs With Ball Down Right + Runs With Ball Down Left + Runs With Ball Down Centre, or is is something slightly different? Maybe there's a directionality difference?

Is giving a player both Runs With Ball Often, plus Runs With Ball Down _____ a waste, or do they complement each other?

Well from the purely theoretical point of view, these are different things.

The first one should make it that a player dribbles more likely and not perform another 'on the ball action', like a simple pass.

The second one should make it that a player will run more likely through a certain area and not other areas.

How that will plays out depends the players position.

Example. A left wing back with the trait runs down the right wing, will not use that trait, but he could dribble more likely or dribble through the centre after he cut into the field.

As per the game's description:

Runs with ball often: "choosing to run with the ball rather than passing it"

Runs with ball down X: "a player will decide to run with the ball down the X"

So these are quite different, the first means the player will be more selfish and run first, pass later. The second means the player will see space in a flank and will carry the ball with him.
