List of players suspended until December 31: Goalkeepers: Jordan Pickford, Nick Pope, Aaron Ramsdale Defenders: Kyle Walker, John Stones, Harry Maguire, Eric Dier, Kieran Trippier, Luke Shaw, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Conor Coady, Ben White Midfielders: Jordan Henderson, Declan Rice, Mason Mount, Kalvin Phillips, Phil Foden, Jude Bellingham, Conor Gallagher, James Maddison Forwards: Raheem Sterling, Harry Kane, Marcus Rashford, Jack Grealish, Bukayo Saka, Callum Wilson First Thoughts: If Reece James and Ben Chilwell can stay injury free in this alternate reality, the starting full backs are strong. There were some reputable players left out of the squad, including Jadon Sancho and James Ward-Prowse. A lot of number 10's were included so we may have to utilise a front two, with one player dropping in and playing as a 10. A lot of mid-level players available who never get a sniff who offer great depth but not great additions to the XI, Longstaff, Willock, Winks, Skipp. Will Milner and Vardy consider returning from retirement? Finding a way to dominate games must come quickly. With this, options in the centre of midfield have to be found and given the performances of Abraham, Watkins, Elliott and Eze, there are openings out wide and up front. We had major concerns over the fitness of our preferred starting eleven if we played our strongest team in a friendly 6 days before our first group game. Jarrod Bowen again showing that he could be the man to start out wide. All going very well If there was another decent choice as backup, I think Henderson would arguably have not been in Salvatore Ganacci's squad at all. Just get bad vibes off Henderson the way he goes on. Couldn't be arsed dealing with him if FM were real life.. hence why he doesn't start. Plus Joe Hart bags of experience in a squad that had very little (Hart also captain because I pissed James Ward-Prowse off because I couldn't pick him when it came to naming the captain - if you look at the early fixtures I randomly gave it to Sancho so I could give it to JWP later on but he refused to take it). It wouldn't have been so bad but Ivan Toney was through on goal at least twice in extra time.
