How does seeding work in relation to tie mapping?

When, in a competition, it goes from 'Stage 0' to 'Stage 1' for example, how is seeding allocated? Is it possible to allocate seeds to qualified teams? Can I say "teams A&B get seeds 0&1 and C&D get 2&3"? I have been using tie mapping, but I don't entirely understand how it works.

Depends on how your rounds work, but say you have groups, you can seeding based on position in their respective group.

2 groups of 4 with top 3 from each group progressing to a knockout stage.

And how does your first knockout work?

Setting seed 0 for position in group from 0 to 0 (where notififies the first position) can work, same for position 2 and 3 in the group.

1st in each group progress to final.

2nd plays 2nd and 3rd plays 3rd before each winner plays in a 3rd place playoff.
