Jonny Kaufman Posted July 12, 2007 Share Posted July 12, 2007 F****** Finally There was only one thing on the mind of all Badalonan players, fans and coaching staff... Thank F*** for Janek. Janek was again proved to be the best player in the Badalona ranks as he propelled Badalona to a 2nd place finish in the league. Finishing with 29 goals for the season and taking the B1 golden boot saw Janek's last season for the club at least the most succesful. The play offs beckoned once again for Badalona, and they quickly got through to their 4th play off final since Kaufman took over. The first leg was a dull affair with a 0-0 draw ending any hopes of Badalona taking a lead in to the second away leg. However this was not to matter as Janek returned from his international duties, and dominated the final scoring a brace and sending Badalona up 4-2 on aggeragate. Kaufman was estatic along with the Chairman, some spanish dude. No one will forget this day as Badalona reached the dizzing heights of Liga BBVA. With the realisation by Kaufman II that Janek's contract was expiring at the end of the season and Janek rejecting serveal new contracts, it was time for him to be sold. The transfer saga went on for 2 months and finally finished when Janek accepeted Mantova's contract. And he was gone leaving behind 2.3 million and a new 1.65 million transfer budget for Kaufman to work with. And as soon as Janek had left Janek II, as Kaufman has affectionally named him, came. Romanian u21 international Sarbu(who scored 2 on his debut). Serveral other players came in to strengthen the Badalona squad but can any of them live up to the great man himself Janek... Timma Posted July 12, 2007 Share Posted July 12, 2007 Prescott resigns as Xerez manager Xerez manger Tim Prescott handed in his resignation after his sides 3-0 defeat away at Recreativo which was the teams fourth straight defeat and a result which left them 19th in La Liga. This is what he had to say about it " Im sad to be leaving Xerez after 6 great seasons which took us from b4 up into La Liga for the first time and onto the verge of Europe. But for some reason which i cant explain things just havent worked out this season and the players were losing faith in me and rather than letting me drag the club down i stepped aside to let the new manager save them from relegation. After 10 seasons in charge of Lemona, Ibanez finally guide them to Segunda División 'A' for there 1st time in there 99 years history. In a season that had more drama that a Christmas episode of Eastenders. With the amazing penalty misses of Herbert Wieser, who missed 3 in one game against Eibar or the money driven Chairman selling some of the talent from under the feet of Ibanez to fill his pockets. And the title race run in that end up with 3 clubs finishing joint 1st on 75points but saw Lemona being giving 3rd due to there head 2 head with the other two clubs. Brief insight to the league positions of Lemona under Ibanez<UL TYPE=SQUARE> <LI>2012/13 - 6th Ibanez 1st season, helped to guide the club to 6th narrowly missing out on the plays off with 2 games left. <LI>2013/14 – 6th Ibanez 1st full season, once again just missing out on a play off spot. <LI>2014/15 – 2nd only to lose out to bitter rivals Barakaldo by 3 pts for the title, then lost in play off final 3-2 to Ecija after wiping the floor with Sant Andreu in the s/f <LI>2015/16 – 3rd and lost again in play offs 2-1 to Terrassa at the semi final stage <LI>2016/17 – 5th narrowly missing out on a play off spot by 2pts. <LI>2017/18 – 3rd losing out in the play off semi final to Badalona on away goals <LI>2018/19 – 4th sneaked in on the last day finishing above Cultural Leonesa thanks to there head 2 heads but crashed in the play off semi finals at the hands of Sant Andreu <LI>2019/20 -
