The Manager can now set to work knowing our weaknesses in this level, some players impressed other disappointed. Already in is Manuel Mora an impressive Centre back from R.Madrid and an impressive new forward Constantin Cristea who was top marksman for Ferrol last season. The manager did loose the impressive Santana to Las Palmas but word is he is trying to buy him back right away with a silly offer, we will see. So new season and new hope. We have a few offers out there but in all the squad is looking good. Player Hjortur Brigisson was our stand out player in midfield ad the manager is rumoured to be looking for a partner from him. We will be looking for more out of Cortez this season the managers most expensive signing to date for the club but that could all change soon if he finds the right player for right price. Irish Posted September 4, 2007 Share Posted September 4, 2007 The summer transfer spree continued after the signings of Aitor Crespo. Tommi Sundqvist was brought in on a free to help boolster my central midfield options. Tommi is a 19 year old Finnish international who is comfortable as a central midfielder or just behind the striker. Next in was 21 year old Tromso goalkeeper Kristoffer Pedersen. The Norweigen joined for 22k and will act as cover for my main keeper Niklas Lundin. Most of the signings made in the summer were squad players and this continued when the club signed 20 year old spannish midfielder Francisco Calleja for 230k and then Adrian Cano, a 25 year old spannish player who can play in several positions in midfield and attack. Cano was signed from Villarreal for 110k. Having now established a strong squad I wanted to concentrate on strengtening the first team. First in was my biggest ever signing. This came in the shape of 18 year old U21 spannish midfielder Jose Luis Calderon. Calderon joined for 2.9m from Real sporting. The spine of the first team got even stronger when the club announed the capture of a 24 year old Columbian center back by the name of Juan Antonio Escalante. Esclante was signed for 500k and brings a very impressive performance record with him. As well as being a solid defender, he is a major threat when attacking set pieces. That was the end of the transfers in to the club, but with the olny player leaving being a back up striker, Ernesto Servera (to barakaldo for 20k), it gives an indication of how strong the squad would be this season, and thats exactly how it turned out. Having lost the first game of the season away to Sporting the team went on to win 6 of their next 7 games in all competitions. This run was ended when we were knocked out of the cup in the 3rd round away to Celta. With only the league to concentrate on now the club got back to winning aways at home to Castellon with a 1-0 win. The good form continued for practically the whole season and we were always within touching distance of the top 3 promotion places. As the season came to a close we felt with a little bit of luck we could sneak a promotion spot. Unfortunately we didn't get this. Going in to the final day of the season I would have to win my game away to Real Oviedo (21st place) and hope that Hercules, managed by a good friend Savio Mamba, could win at home to Celta. Of course I managed to take care of my end of the deal with a comfortable 2-1 away win, however, despite taking a 2-1 lead at home, Savio Mambo and his team of bottlers were unable to hold on and ended up drawing 2-2. These results ment I missed out on promotion by 1 single point. As disappointing at this was there were several positives to be taken from the season, none more so than the progress the club had made both on and off the pitch. The clubs youth facilities are now among the best in the leagues and we hope to improve our main training facilities shortly as well. The clubs finances are looking safe and will hopefully be able to attract a higher quality player in future seasons. One thing holding the club back at the moment is the fact we don't own our own stadium, therefore unable to expand our 4,900 capacity stadium. On the pitch there were several stand out players during the season. New centerback Juan Anontio Escalante was the star performer scoring a sensational 9 goals in 43 games achieving man of the match no less than 8 times. His center back partner, Adomas Barevicius, was my second best player of the season, which shows the strenght of my defence. However, Thomas Schmid, showed that the attack was equally as productive by scoring 21 goals in 35 games. This was a fantastic return to form for Schmid who had only scored 5 goals last season after scoring an incredible 31 goals the season before that. Other standout performers during the season were Tommi Sundqvist who surprised everyone and forced his way into becoming a regular choice to partner the ever consistent Jose Luis Calderon. With several players contracts running out at the end of next season, there could be a number of players sold unless we can agree new contract deals during the summer. What ever happens, we will once again be trying to strenghten the team and push on to try and win promotion to the holy grail that is the Spannish first division. Old Git Posted September 5, 2007 Share Posted September 5, 2007 Well, pre-season went well, got battered by most teams, sold a few of the original squad, and some others. Overall squad size still too large, however the spine of the side has been strengthened by the purchase, at a grand price of zereo, of a promising CB from Sevilla. Downside, found out big-spending Badalona were now B4. Great news that one! Marbella directors have indicated that they would like to see a refreshing attitude to the teams play this season, so the manager has decided that the only way forward is to attack at all costs and that is the way the team lined up away to Granada in the first game of the season. Unfortunately, the first choice keeper and second striker Igor Llorca were injured. Managed to pin them back for the majority of the game, but conceded a single goal in the last ten minutes, however a sound performance and one of the clubs better results against Granada. Looks like a couple of little tactical tweaks are needed and Martin and the ciaching staff of Kronkamp, Christiansen and Van Der Vart will be working on this! Pleasantly pleased with the performance of a couple of the new guys and once they gel, should be capable of making a better fist of it this season. Jonny Kaufman Posted September 6, 2007 Share Posted September 6, 2007 Oh For God's Sake, not again It was yet another year of hurt for the men from Badalona, although they did once again pick up the Spanish Second Divison B3 title for the second year in succesion. But thats not what we are here to talk about, on the night Badalona captured the the title, with 6 games to spare, Kaufman and some other manages set out to celebrate, and for 2 months, Kaufman was not seen again after this night. Kaufman was quoted as saying, "They've ******* done it again, for ***** sake, everytime we go out, i'm going to ******* slash them those ******* *****." He was refering to the managers he was spotted out with, Kaufman went on to explain, that the last time these managers had gone out Kafman had Rohyphnol slipped in to his drink by one of the managers, of course these managers then left Kaufman in a ditch in the depths of Badalona. And thats where he stayed for 2 weeks until woken by a Chinese couple. The police are now investigating and are ye to name the managers in question. Although a La Liga manager is thought to be involved, 2 Liga BBVA managers are also thought to be involved and 2 2nd B league managers are also thought to be involved. This time the loss of manager Kaufman, thanks to being out cold for 2 months, cost Badalona the play off win, as they were sent crashing out to Barakaldo, 6-2 on aggrergate. Now in the easist of the 4 2nd B leagues, B4, or as i like to call it, B****, get it because it's easy, ha ha ha, so funny, get it, yeah yeah, oh it's alright it will come to you... Badalona should be looking to win this league and advance through the play offs. And having spent 1.7 million in the window, they should ease these league. Of course losing Lliev for 2 million is a big loss as is the loss of Raumensssssssen for 1.5 million. And of course the last two season's top scorer for the club Sarbu for 975k. Guest sav112 Posted September 14, 2007 Share Posted September 14, 2007 We improved on last seasons placing by managing sixth, which could have easily been in a promotion place had the two forwards decided to score for there pay packet. It basically came down to the disappointment of both the new forwards. We lost every time to the worst team in the league, A blind spot that has to be shifted. The manager will do what he does best build slowly improving with the right players. Quality not quantity being the key. A few of the old regulars have been freed. Adam Ochs -Outstanding goalkeeper, can we hold on to this gem Igor Amato -Came in and made the right back slot his own. Cristea & Cortéz - The forwards that could become one of the most potent in the division if they click next season. Hjörtur Birgisson - what can you say ever dependable strong midfielder that is basically the first name on the team sheet. In all I think we have secured our safety in the division for the time being with a youthful side that should improve. Old Git Posted September 14, 2007 Share Posted September 14, 2007 From the heroics of reaching the promotion play=offs in his first season, sadly Marbella having short in their aspirations in the last two seasons, escaping the relegation playoffs this season thanks to a last day victory. (No mention of that is Savs end of season summary I notice! The close of the season saw six players transferred out, and four youngsters released. Unfortunately it looks like talisman Igor Llorca, the mexican hitman could be on his way, as an acceptable offer has come in for him. (In laymans trerms, running short of cash!) His sidekick Fernandez Gonzalez could also be on his way, howevr at present the Marbles are still managing to hang on to Olivero, the clubs top scorer over the last four years. Sadly Brazilian CB Rocha could be heading homewards as he is rumoured to have caught the eye of Gama, and he is quite keen on the move. (The manager was last seen leaving Rocha's beach palace screaming: "Only if the moneys right" His partner in crime at the back Remon is on his way to Jonny's Badalona, a good move for the youngster where full time coaching will see him develop well. One to watch in the future I reckon. (Only if Jonny don't break him right enough) A few other fringe players are prepped to leave the club as Martin looks to rebuild for the future, guaranteed there will not be many over the age of 25 in next seasons squad. Whilst the coaching may only be part-time at Marbella, the quality provided by Rafael Van Der Vaart, Jan Kronkamp and Jan Christiansen ensures the development of the youngsters. Irish Posted September 17, 2007 Share Posted September 17, 2007 Having just missed out on promotion by a single point in the 2024/2025 season, it was time to get back down to business in the summer and assemble a squad that would be strong enough to push on this season and get promoted. Early on this looked as it was going to be tricky due to players unwilling to sign new contracts. with several contracts into the last year I decided to cash in on these players now. First to go was my star striker from the previous season, Thomas Schmid, joining Brest for a satisfying £4m. His impressive striker partner, South African Carlos Nkosi, followed him out the door, joining monaco for £3.2m. These were the main 2 players to leave due to contract situation, but I also lost my back up keeper on a free transfer as his contract had expired. A number of back up players were also released as their contracts were coming to an end and they added very little to my squad. With all this transfer activity going out, it was obvious that I needed to strenghten my striker options. I felt one striker would do as I was going to put my faith in the young strikers I had devloped already at the club. This one striker came in the shape of Abdullah Al-Eid from Isreal. He joined for a measely 250k compensation package as his contract was unprotected. The 24 year old joins with a growing reputation having already scored 5 goals for his national side. Australian center back Peter Baker was next in the door, joining for 300k compensation from his native Adelaide United. Peter is a 23 year old with over 50 caps for Australia. He is surely one of the biggest signings ever made by the club. Another signing was made while I was away on a scouting mission for a week. The club some how felt they needed right winger Alberto Borja to join us for 500k. This ment we now had 4 non eu players to fit in to the maximum quota of 2. To sort this problem my impressive center back Juan Antonio Escalante joined Barcelona on loan, while Alberto Borja went straight back out the door to join Genoa on loan. The final signing of the summer came when 20 yr old greek midfielder Vangelis Delolmas joined from Iraklis for £1m. He is expected to be a backup for the team who will be able to do a capable job when called upon. With only a week left in the summer I was very happy with my squad. But this was short lived as Sevilla came in with an "un-rejectable" bid of £5m for my 2nd choice left back, Igor Kazakov. Another big bid was accepted when Rayo made a bid for my back up midfielder Dzintars Gospodars that could eventually rise to £5.5m. With these 2 players leaving so close to the deadline I resorted to getting in a number of young players on loans to make up the numbers, particularly in defence. As the season got on its way, we had a good start winning 2 of our first 3 games. The good form continued for most of the opening months until we were to be knocked out by first division celta in the 4th round of the cup. This defeat didn't hinder us in our league form though as we continued picking up points through the winter and by the time the January window opened we were only a point or two from a promotion place. I wanted to use this window to strenghten my defence and that was achieved very early as Hakan Waldh joined me from Badalona for 750k. Waldh can play either fullback positions and will be a good versatile player for us. That was all the business I expected to be doing in the window. But I wasn't allowed to get away with it, Sevilla came in with an unexplainable £10m bid for the star of my season so far, 22 yr old striker Florian Maier. Maier had scored 12 goals in his 16 league games so far this season, but my chairman, like myself, thought that 10m was too good too turn down. A replacement for Maier was now the ultimate goal before the window closed in 2 days times. Strangely, his replacement was found at the club he ha just joined, Sevilla. 31 year old spannish striker, Jose Antonio Martin, agreed to join us for £2m. Although no longer in his peak, he still looked like he could be a fantastic signing for us, and also provide that extra experience needed to win promotion. When the season resumed we never had a bad spell. Only losing 3 games in the final half of the season. Our strong form prooved good enough and we finally achieved promotion from LIGA BBVA on the final day of the season, despite only drawing away to already relegated Las Palmas. Having missed out on promotion last season by 1 single point, it was even more pleasing to have been promoted by 1 single point this season. With a squad full of young developing players, as well as being able to count on the return from loan of my center back Juan Antonio Escalante, I don't think we will have to buy many players for the new season. The club has been given a huge boost off the by pitch by the club announcing the excellent youth facilities have now been completed and that they are now in the process of completing excellent training facilities. The best was left to last though, and on Sunday, June 21st 2026, the club announced the news that they have taken out a £34m loan to build a new 15,000 seater stadium with undersoil heating. The project will take 2 years to complete but will help us move away from the 5,000 seater stadium we currently rent. With the club continuing to grow off the pitch, we just hope that in the coming season we can grow in to a First Division team on the pitch and retain our first division status. Had to make a few changes to the squad I picked up at the tail end of last season. A hefty £39m was spend with £30m going the other way. re-signed Solovadchenko back from Atletico for 9.25m after he was sold the season before for £11m, Antonia Gutierrez Spains hottest young star in Spain cost £9m from Alemria. lost both wingers thanks to my chairman appecting offers. but to be fair to him, he did along with the board and increase our capacity from 44,000 to 60,000, which will help to bring in extra cash.. with the added bonus of being in the Uefa cup, something Sevilla has lacked in recent times. a good run in Europe would be good and help rise the clubs profile. so another season with Sevilla means one thing, another 2 games against Betis Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...

He is believed to have been outraged at the leagues insistence in playing games whilst he was unavailable to the club. "Last thing I said to them", he is quoted as saying on Marbles Rock Radio, "Last thing I said, I don't want any games scheduled whilst I'm not around, cos my Assts a ****** and I'll end up in a relegation dogfight." "Just look at the table!" Martin was last seen heading off to his lawyers muttering something like, "Had enough of that twat Hangeland, he's out the door when I see him." Jonny Kaufman Posted September 20, 2007 Share Posted September 20, 2007 What a F****** Suprise Amazingly Badalona were once again knocked out in the play offs, this time by Atletico B, Badalona won B4 at the first attempt bringing their 3rd consecutive title back home. The pre season saw 2 young starlets leave for a combined fee of £1.475 million, Florin Petre went to lorca for £1.1 million and Morton Hoj went to racing for a poultry 375k. With that money in Badalona brang in 12 new players, 5 of which cost money which came to the price of 825k. None of which were big name signings neither were they from any good teams. But the important thing is that Badalona bring their amazing skill levels to B1 and take their 4th title in as many years. The opening games started badly as 2 losses and only 1 win plus a cup defeat, saw Kaufman leave to persue his career in the House of Commons...of course this was short lived, and he returned to Badalona where he will hope to bring more success to them in the coming years. In fact nobody came out of this with much credit. It's just a matter of turning the incredible draw phenomenon into wins, which basically means going 1-0 and not conceding between minutes 85 and 93!
