The most exciting team of 2020: FK Bodø/Glimt (the scandinavian Atalanta?)

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone,

I am a bit surprised we are aproaching FM 21 and I'm yet to see an attempt at recreating FK Bodø/Glimt tactics.

FK Bodø/Glimt  is probably one of the most exciting teams of this year, featuring great young prospects, such as Jans Peter Hauge (now at AC Milan), Patrick Berg or Fredrik Andre Bjorkan. And great, really great, ball playing defenders.

They currently sit at the top of the norwegian first division (Eliteserien) by a large margin. Their games are full of goals, don't be surprised to see them winning 6-0.

There are some good articles on them and how they play:

I leave my replication below (no pis).

What do you think?

Cheers,

Ps: FK Bodø/Glimt (after Tromso's relegation last season) is currently the most northern club of all european top divisions.

I closely follow Norwegian football due to the fact I work there a lot. And they really are a fantastic side. I done a Ålesund save a few years back and enjoyed it so in FM21 am gonna challenge bodo with rivals tromso who were relegated.

i love your set up. For some reason the game has berg down as more of a ball winner when to me he’s more of a busquets/xaxo hybrid.

Runar hauge the younger brother is a talent as well.

I love your set up think you’ve nailed down the key aspects of it

  • 1 year later...

How did this play?

Came across the thread as my irl club, Norwich, are close to appointing Glimt's manager Knutsen to succeed Farke - which, as a tactics nerd is very exciting.

I was already eyeing up Scandinavia for my main/first FM22 save after a few years out of the game. Really enjoyed Silkeborg in Denmark on FM15(?), and the Norwich news makes that region even more tempting! Never done Sweden or Norway, and I'm torn between Brommapojkarna (elite quality youth academy) or Kongsvinger (former top flight mainstay, v. good facilities) who are both in their respective 3rd tiers currently.

Anyway... Struggling to get a tune out of a 4-3-3 with inverted/inside wide men and a DLF/CF on FM22 so far with that system being a go to for me in years gone by.

So - all in all, intrigued to hear about this system and Scandinavia!
