Djels
Hi Knap, can you explain what type of player is ideally needed for the CMs? And like it's role within the tactic, how would it differ from say a BBM? Also wingers foot preference not an issue? Great tac BTW :)
knap
The MU players are a good fit and the roles form the tactic structure. Usually left on left but ppms can override and they can be swopped during a match.

Just quite hard to find a natural CMs
knap
I was just about to post a 442 with MU. Still using Matic Pogba but now in these roles f you look at positions Matic is a defensive MC and Pogba a M, and I ignore roles, which can be trained
Silverstar87
hey knap du you think i can play with eriksen as MEZ, Dier as DLP and Alli as BBM ?
knap
That would work.

knap
As a formation it should counter a 442 as it protects wings and out numbers in midfield. I've not had too many problems with 442 as A Madrid are probably best uses of a 442 as well as Leicester (may be worth not playing offside). It is also good SUS Formation, so I would try it on counter against strong 442s. The other tactics to try would be White Europe 343 IF tactic or the Volante Anchor another White Europe tweak.. knap
In FM the best form of defence is usually attack. The main problem with the 343 is it is open down wings. but if you can get a lead with a 343 then it may be worth protecting the lead with a 442 or 451 type formations. Diego Birtles
Anything i can do to sure up my defence, I can't keep a clean sheet to save my life with this tactic but scoring loads. Playing as Salford City in 2023/24 in the Premier League, media prediction 18th but currently in 6th. Scored 63 (highest in the league) but conceded 44 (2nd highest in the league)
knap
Best form of defence is attack. In general goal difference depends on quality of squad. If you can get a good lead it may be worth trying a SUS or part SUS.
Silverstar87
whats is part sus ? the sus tactic in counter mentality somethin like that ?
knap
The 2 main elements of a SUS tactic is to reduce WB runs changing to support or defend or DFB, and reducing mentality to control counter and contain. A part SUS would be a mix say WBs to defend and mentality to counter.
knap
442 is a good option for underdogs. MIDSOMER P103 which some use in counter or VOLANTE Tactics (The Anchor version is a White Europe) or VOL MEZ. ARGUS 451.
