Enos
I used to install an old Sound Pack with the songs/chants from the old FM/CM when I was running FM16. It worked wonderfully and thoroughly enjoyed it. I tried to install in FM18 and no luck thus far. I replaced 'sounds' and 'events' which appear to be identical to the format in FM16, but I could not find an events updates directory which I needed to delete in order to make it work in FM16. Anyone have an idea. I got the sound patch from FM Scout (FM16 downloads under 'misc files) and commented out some of the commentary and vuvuzela noise that I did not like. Anyone have an idea if this could work? When I replaced the sounds and events nothing changed in the game. I did clear cache, reload, etc., but that isn't working. @michaeltmurrayuk, any suggestions? michaeltmurrayuk
FM18 has moved various files around the default events file should now be found in the \steamapps\common\Football Manager 2018\data\simatch\events\ folder. Though I haven't played around with the sounds for years so not sure if anything else has changed, but there should be some threads around about changing the sounds - either in here, the editors forum or GD. Thanks. That's where I put the file, but no change. I wondered if there was something else I missed. Perhaps some other cached event files that I needed to delete? @handy500 I'll post the file when I get home from work later tonight. It is Valentine's Day so It may be a while. I have to take the wife to dinner...
Enos
Here it is. I think these are all the files... Will probably take me a few tries. http://www.filedropper.com/matchevents http://www.filedropper.com/matchsounds ... Of course the actual sound file is too big for me to upload. Still working on it. I'm an idiot and cannot figure out how to share this thing. Compressed its about 1/3rd of a GB so too big for the forum. Any ideas? I did find a link to a patch that includes most of the sound files from my patch. It also has a bunch of extras that you will want to edit out (like audio commentary from FIFA). Here it is: https://www.fmscout.com/a-fm16-audio-commentary-and-more-realistic-sounds.html I've been able to get some of the sound files to work in my game now, but not all of them. Strangely, I can get the sounds like striking the ball and hitting the post, but none of the chants just yet.
Enos
Just pinging this thread so @handy500 can see it. All I did was edit previous posts and he may not be alerted.

Enos
I put them in events (Steam-steamapps-common-Football Manager 2018-Data-Simatch-events), but it's not working properly. I can only get a few to work. I think I need to unpack the default sounds folder in there or something. Hopefully one of us will figure it out. Enos
Yep. It's going to take someone smarter than me to figure it out. I haven't been able to get them to work except for one, tiny, garbled effort which ultimately killed all sounds until I deleted the patch.
