morsy
I was curious about the new draft lottery system so I simmed a few of them in my first season. Here's the results of how often which team won the first pick in the draft: 24th Canucks 14 25th Devils 1 26th Panthers 0 27th Coyotes 0 28th Senators 1 29th Flyers 16 30th Sabres 0 Doesn't seem to work that well... krownroyal83
Yikes. With results like that we are better off not having the lottery.
dejaq
Yeah another guy posted strange numbers like that. That make it more like wining the national lottery to mimic those odds. I haven't been able to replicate this in may games...so far through 7 seasons, only the bottom 5 teams have won, last team won 3 times.
SI Staff Riz Remes Posted April 13, 2015 SI Staff Share Posted April 13, 2015 Do you have the save before your test still ? If so, could you upload it to the FTP so I can have a look ? Looking at the draft lottery code, there isn't anything that appears to be broken and testing it here produces correct results.
morsy
Unfortunately not. But I noticed this only seems to happen when you save right before the draft lottery. When I loaded an older file that was 10+ days before the draft lottery the results varied more.
SI Staff Riz Remes Posted April 13, 2015 SI Staff Share Posted April 13, 2015 Ahh, it could be related to the randomness being seeded the same way each time as you are re-loading just before the draft. I'll have a look at it.
