jalapic
For my 18th and 19th games of the Premier League season, I played Liverpool home and away. The fixtures occurred on the 19th and 23rd Dec. Pretty unusual, though I'd imagine not completely without precedent in the Prem (I know these back to back fixtures used to happen in the olden days). I expect this is because the fixtures are randomly generated such that you play each team once per half season.
rougon
Was it possible because an earlier match w/ Liverpool was rescheduled due to a cup or European match?
jalapic
One of their games vs me was rescheduled for this reason. Is this pretty common then?
rougon
I've just noticed that when league games get rescheduled, it will often put the new match against an existing cup tie with the same team. Maybe the AI groups it that way so the players don't have to theoretically travel?
SI Staff Alari Naylor Posted January 23, 2012 SI Staff Share Posted January 23, 2012 It's just coincidence, has a tendency to happen now and again in real life as well - not so much with 2 premiership games, but certainly when cups come into the equation. westyorksnffc
The best way to check is at the start of the season (June 10th), look at your fixtures then, but I tend to get a lot of re-arranged fixtures if I, or another team are in the Europa League or Champions League, Super Cup, or World Club Cup, and you'll find the fixtures re-arranged for around Xmas time are those from August time.
