SEASON: - 2010/11

July

July saw AFC Telford participate in 5 friendly matches to kick off what could be there greatest season in there history. They faced npower League 2 side Stevenage. The Bucks fought well however succumbed to 1-0 defeat. 3 days later they faced Scottish team, Spartans. Telford were far from on form however still managed a 2-1 victory in front of a home ground. They next faced Welsh team Prestatyn and again did not perform well and fell to a 1-1 draw. There penultimate friendly was against Market Drayton and they fell to a 1-0 defeat. Things were not looking well for Telford heading into the coming season. There final friendly was against Premier League outfit Wolverhampton Wanderers. After taking the lead early on they couldn't hold off the Wolves side and were defeated 3-1. The pre-season did not go to plan however their final performance against Wolves gave the fans hope of success at Telford this season.

August

August was certainly a better month for Jimmy Tracton and his team as he got his side's campaign underway. The season started with a 2-2 draw against Hyde. Telford managed to secure back-to-back victories against Vauxhall, 3-1, and Gainsborough, 1-0 to put his side in 5th place. However there unbeaten start came to an end with a 2-0 loss to Gloucester. They finished the month of August off well though with a 2-0 win over Redditch. This put Telford into 10th position heading into September.

September

September was a good month for the Bucks, but however it started again with a draw, 0-0 to Nuneaton. A 3-1 win over Blyth give the locker room some spirit. Another draw, 1-1 over Solihull Moors put Telford in 8th position. However came the biggest shock as no-one had foreseen it coming as Tracton's men fell to a humongous 4-1 loss to Corby. They however managed to overcome this loss as they defeated Ashton Utd in the FA Cup 3rd Qual. Round, 1-0. The Bucks ended September 7th in the table.

October

October month started what would be a 12 game winning streak for Tracton's men. They started the month with a 3-0 win over Worcester. An FA Cup 4th Qual. Round tie against Burscough ended in a 4-0 victory. A big tie against Alfreton which was billed as the biggest tie of the season. It ended with a 1-0 win for Tracton's men. The month of October ended with a 4-2 win over Wrexham, a 3-1 win over Workington and a 3-0 win over Stalybridge to put Telford back in the running for the title as they now lied in 4th position in the table.

November

November started with the 1st Round of the FA Cup against Hinckey. A 2-1 win put Telford though to the 2nd round. Telford face Droylsden and defeated them 3-2. 2-0 victories over Solihull Moors and Nuneaton put Telford within 5 points of leaders Boston Utd. A 4-0 win over Guiseley gave them Momentum as they face Rochadale in the 2nd Round of the FA Cup. However, there 12 game winning/undefeated streak came to an end as they lost 1-0 after a 89th minute goal cost them a 3rd Round draw.

December

December was far from festive for the Bucks. The month started with a 1-1 draw to Blyth. They then Stafford in the opening round of the FA Trophy. They were defeated 2-0. 2 successive draws, 0-0 vs. Eastwood and, 1-1 vs. Stafford put Telford further behind the league leader. However they finished off 2010 with a victory over Redditch 2-0. They finished the year in 2nd place, 7 points off run-away leaders Boston Utd.

January

The New year got off a to a decent start as they defeated Stafford 1-0. A 0-0 draw to Nuneaton and a 2-0 victory over Workington put the Buck's right back into contention for the league title. However they were defeated 1-0 by Workington. They finished off with 2 successive victories against Hinckley, 1-0 and Hyde, 2-0.

February

The shortest month of the year offered 5 matches. A 2-1 win over Gainsborough give them an opportunity to overtake Boston as they were only separated by 1 point. The 2 leaders went head to head however it ended stale mate with a 1-1 draw. Harrogate managed to defeat Telford 2-1 however the Bucks managed to follow this up via 2 successive 1-0 victories over Alfreton and Corby put Telford at the top of the table.

March

March only gave the Bucks 3 matches to try and defend their very slim lead at the top of the league. They started well with a 3-1 win over Guiseley however this was followed up with a 1-0 defeat over Worcester. They finished this very short month with another 3-1 victory this time over Stalybridge.

April

After March only offered 3 matches, April gave Jimmy Tracton a massive 6 matches to end the season. It started off with 2, 1-1 draws against Eastwood and Boston Utd. However Boston was not the team they were fighting the title with now. Boston after a bad run of games were completely out of contention as the title was now between AFC Telford and Nuneaton. Tracton's men fell to a 3-1 defeat to Hinckley, allowing Nuneaton to close the gap to 2 points. A 3-1 victory over Vauxhall didn't extend the lead as Nuneaton also found a win. However a 0-0 draw against Gloucester at the penultimate game of the season put the 2 side's equal on points as Nuneaton had found victory against former title contenders Boston United. The final game would decide everything. Telford faced off against Harrogate Town and Nuneaton faced off against Alfreton. With Nuneaton losing their game 3-2 all Telford had to do was get a draw. They managed to defeat Harrogate Town, 2-0 to win the Blue Square Bet North Division.
