saintmackem
Trying to do a challenge, where as Chelsea, I will try and buy an good English first 11. Sold Drogba and all of the other foreign stars and managed to recoup £75m. Tried to sign Micah Richards, but will not pay £37.5m for a player rated £6.5m. Tried to sign Barry - Villa wanted over £40m - currently rated at £5m, Tried to sign Owen, Newcastle wanted £30m......has anyone ever had success at buying good english players for realistic money? saintmackem
I will have a go at purchasing that team. I will let you know how I get on. Already purchased Kirkland as my keeper.
saintmackem
This is stupid. Tried to sign this team. xavi
Id say that its because you are playing as chelsea. teams will know that you have money and will ask for inflated prices, similar to real life.
SkeeterP
It's not really helpful; more me boasting, but I've played an all-English XI many times in my Arsenal game. My last English XI was: GK: Joe Hart RB: James Liversedge (regen) LB: Joe Mattock CB: Steven Taylor CB: Micah Richards DM: Lee Cattermole CM: Giles Barnes CM: Matt Alexander (regen) AMC: Henri Lansbury ST: James Vaughan ST: Luke Freeman (regen)

He starts with Gillingham. He's a good buy anyway; turned out as a great TM for me.

Yeah mate, Xavi is spot on I'm afraid. I had £100M to spend on a RB and then whoever else I fancied and was naturally excited, then Liverpool demanded £72M for Lorenzo De Silvestri (worth £12M) It's unfortunate mate, and very OTT IMO, but just how it is in-game. Only thing I can suggest is trying to unsettle players first and hope they ask to leave.
Welshace
all depends how you unsettle a player and what you offer the selling team ive got michael johnson for 7 mil micah for 11 mil cattermole for 4 (although boro were relegated) ashton can go for 9 mil etc etc tell teams you want to buy the player first in the media... praise him.... see what the team says... hopefully the player will ask to leave and the team will say he can leave for a good amount... offer below his value... they'll negotiate... eventually youve find some common ground.. which wont be ridiculous prices.... jsut have patience

Cattermole, Vaughan are probably worth that TBH, both great.
Jhilly
I've had Johnson (Man City) and Taylor (Wigan) cheap before, both are more than decent. Taylor was in my Liverpool team that won the double so he can't be too bad. Cattermole is probably worth 16mil.
