Ridleys
Meet me (aka Bobinho de Silva), a fat* Brazilian who has no past experience and basically knows nothing about football outside Brazil. I will be managing Stirling in the Scottish 2nd Division - a team that is debt ridden but still favourites to win the league so should be fun! (I clicked the 'choose random team' button to get this team). *For the record this Bobinho bloke in no way reflects me in real life. Purefun
I have seen you and people he does like that. Just joking anyway good luck with this one. Loads of leagues loaded, I like that. Why did you set your db on medium? Seeing that you loaded all those leagues. I always wonder stuff like that, I never play without large db.
Ridleys
I think I might have selected Small actually, I just feel that my computer is good enough for a medium database so I might as well select it
Ridleys
Pre-season 2008/09 So it all starts here then. No money to spend and basically nothing left in the wage budget. What was I to do? Get loanees of course (being from Hereford I am very used to the loan system as that's all our manager seems to use to get players)! The defence looked solid enough in the first couple of friendlies - despite conceding 3 goals, so it was the middle of the park and the strike force that I would be concentrating on. Transfers: In: Thomas Kind Bendiksen - AMC, Season Long Loan from Rangers. Lacked a good attacking midfield and Bendiksen fits the bill perfectly. Good at passing, good first touch, reasonably quick, will be a very important player. Jordan Cropley - AML,R,C, Season Long Loan from Hibernian. We were in urgent need of a left winger as well the one we would have been stuck with was to put it bluntly: crap. Could probably have picked up someone better than Cropley but my scouts though highly of him so I signed him up. Mark Archdeacon - ST, Season Long Loan from Motherwell. Looks a very promising player for an 18 year old, only really lacks composure and experience. Still I expect he should score at least 10 goals this season. Out: Don Morrison - DC, Released Not good enough. Magnus Neilson - AMR,C, Released Not good enough. Steven Waddell - ST, Released Not good enough. Craig Young - AML,C, Released Not good enough. Friendlies: Stirling 2-2 Dunfermline Grehan, Boyle Stirling 1-2 Dundee Utd Grehan Shrewsbury 3-1 Stirling McKenna Crawley 0-1 Stirling Bendiksen Chester 0-1 Stirling McIntosh Stirling 0-2 Bristol Rovers So there we have it, transfers done and we're all set and ready to go. Ridleys
Stirling 2008/09 Mid Season Update July Only one game this month, played in the Scottish Challenge Cup against East Fife. The squad was not complete so the result was poor. East Fife 3 - 1 Stirling - Challenge Cup 1st Round August The league campaign begins. A poor start to the month with a defeat away at Arbroath, but then 5 wins from 6 (including 4 in the league) made this month highly successful. Arbroath 2 - 1 Stirling Stirling 3-2Cowdenbeath - League Cup 1st Round Queen's Park 1 - 2 Stirling Stirling 2-0Ayr Stirling 3-1 Brechin Hearts 4-1 Stirling - League Cup 2nd Round Alloa 0-1 Stirling League Position: 3rd September A relatively short month with only 3 games played. We won one, drew one and lost one so all in all a pretty average month. Stirling 2-1 Peterhead East Fife 2-2 Stirling Stirling 0-1 Raith League Position: 2nd October An even shorter month with only 2 games getting played this month. It also marked some good news for the club however as the Consortium Takeover was complete, and luckily I managed to keep my job. Stranraer 0-1 Stirling Stirling 0-0 Queen's Park League Position: 4th November An unbeaten month and 2 extremely entertaining matches at the end of the month. The new chairman also decided to provide me with a cash injection of £275k, which took the club out of debt for the time being. Ayr 0-1 Stirling Stirling 1-0 Arbroath Brechin 0-0 Stirling Stirling 4-3 Alloa Clyde 3-4 Stirling - Scottish Cup 3rd Round League Position: 2nd December Not a good month only one win in 4 games and a few really ridiculous goals conceded. A few bad injuries as well. Back down to 4th in the league as well. Stirling 2-2 East Fife Raith 1-0 Stirling Peterhead 2-1 Stirling Stirling 1-0 Stranraer League Position: 4th League Table
Ridleys
Stirling 2008/09 January A decent month, which could have been slightly better in all fairness. 8 goals scored (including 4 in one game) and no goals conceded, however 3 draws made the month seem slightly unspectacular. Queen's Park 2 - 0 Stirling Stirling 0-0 Montrose - Scottish Cup 4th Round Montrose 0-1 Stirling - Scottish Cup 4th Round Replay Arbroath 0-0 Stirling Stirling 1-0 Ayr Stirling 4-0 Brechin Stirling 0-0 Peterhead League Position: 4th February A poor start to the month with 3 defeats on the bounce, 2 of them coming in the league and 1 against Dundee Utd in Scottish Cup. 2 wins at the end of the months rescued the month though. Stirling 0-1 Dundee Utd - Scottish Cup 5th Round East Fife 2-0 Stirling Alloa 1-0 Stirling Stirling 3-2 Raith Stranraer 0-1 Stirling League Position: 3rd March Good form continued in to the beginning of March with a 4-1 win kicking off the month against Queen's Park. 2 draws and a loss against rivals Alloa after that though left us only 1 point from 5th place. Stirling 4-1 Queen's Park Ayr 3-3 Stirling Stirling 1-1 Arbroath Stirling 1-2 Alloa League Position: 3rd April A pretty disastrous month in all fairness, 2 defeats against promotion rivals Brechin and Peterhead left us out of the playoffs for the first time since the 2nd game of the season. Peterhead 3-0 Stirling Brechin1-0 Stirling Stirling 3-1 East Fife League Position: 5th May All of the front runners have entered their bad form stage which in a way was a good thing as we managed to push back up to 4th place despite only winning one of the two games this month. Raith 3-1 Stirling Stirling 3-1 Stranraer Final League Position: 4th Final League Table The Promotion/Relegation Playoff Semi Final Leg 1: East Fife 0-3 Stirling Great start against the team that one 12 points clear at the top of the table back in February. Leg 2: Stirling 1-2 East Fife A poor performance but an overall win so I can't be too unhappy. Final Leg 1: Stirling 0-1 Partick Thistle A good performance but a dissapointing result. Should have done much better really. Leg 2: Partick Thistle 7-0 Stirling Yeah, i'd rather not say anything about this one So there we have it. Not promoted unfortunately, which is a bit of a shame really. Not really sure what to do now, will see if the board offer me a contract and then decide what to do from there. Ridleys
Pre-season 2009/10 As expected a contract offer was made, and because I didn't expect to get a job anywhere else I happily accepted. Ridleys
Stirling 2009/10 Mid Season Update July Again, like last season, only 1 competitive game this month. Stirling 1 - 0 Morton- Challenge Cup 1st Round August A dreadful start to the campaign at the beginning of the month, drawing and losing our first 2 games and conceding 7 goals! Things brightened up however and we sat in 2nd place at the end of the month. Ridleys
and just 1 month and a day later I'm back in business! Was declaring interest for basically every club that had a manager listed as insecure and as soon as I did it with Torquay United they sacked their manager and offered me the job! Currently mid-table in the Blue Square Premier and basically no chance of pushing for a playoff place or slipping down in to the relegation zones with 4 games left all I can do is get to know the team and build a suitable formation. The squad initially looked pretty good, however lacks any depth at all so that will be something I will need to sort out for next season. Anyway enough of me rabbiting on, let's get on with it \o/

Ridleys
Torquay Pre-season 2010/11 A decent squad which didn't need much of an improvement really. Got rid of the players who were on high wages and were either too old or not good enough for the team and replaced them with some experienced (but not too old) players or some fresh youngsters. We were in urgent need for a Goalkeeper after all three of them left on July 1st after their contracts ran out, so that was one of the first things I did. All look like they can fit in the first team without any problems (although obviously some aren't as good as others so not everyone will get a chance in the first team). Don't really think I need any more signings, although if the 2 new strikers don't work well with Tim Sills up front that may be an issue I need to look at. Friendlies: 7 friendlies and some mixed results. Good wins againt Walsall and Notts County were the highlight of the Pre-Season Friendlies. Ridleys
Torquay United 2010/11 Mid Season Update Part 1 August Not a very impressive start, some mixed results with lots of positives and negatives coming from the way we are playing. League Position: 11th September A slightly better month, only 1 defeat and 3 wins took us to just outside the playoff zone. League Position: 8th October Great month. Unbeaten and scoring plenty of goals. 14 goals scored in 6 games and only 4 goals conceded, good stuff! League Position: 2nd
Ridleys
Torquay United 2010/11 Mid Season Update Part 2 November Another decent month. Knocked out in the Setanta Sports Cup and a defeat in the FA Cup wasn't the best of starts to the month, but 3 wins and only 1 defeat in the league after that took us to the top of the table, however both York and Kidderminster below us had the chance to overtake us with their game in hand. League Position: 1st December I'm pretty sure Forest Green are my bogey team. My second defeat to them in succesive months meant that Kidderminster overtook us at the top of the table. Two impressive wins after that though meant we were still in 2nd place. League Position: 2nd League Table
Ridleys
Torquay United 2010/11 End of Season Update Part 1 January Excellent month all round really. Only one defeat in the league and progressing through one round of the FA trophy was good stuff. Managed to score at least a goal in every game as well. League Position: 1st February An even better month and our first unbeaten month of the season! Through to the Semi Final of the FA Trophy and still top of the table, things were going very well. The highlight of the month was a 5-0 win against Bournemouth in the league. League Position: 1st
Ridleys
Torquay United 2010/11 End of Season Update Part 2 March An extremely long and tiring months, with 9 games played overall, with 7 of them being in the league. Luckily we have quite a big squad so we were able to cope, but there were still a few slip-ups, including three 1-0 defeats in the league. We were quite lucky to still be top of the league at the end of the month. We also managed to progress through to the final of the FA Trophy. April It was ours to lose now as they say, and guess what that's exactly what we did. At the beginning of the month we had a nice 5 point lead over Kidderminster and we were 6 points in front of York in 3rd place. We couldn't have asked for a worse time too lose form though. Only 2 wins from the 6 league games, including a 3-1 defeat to Forest Green, who like I said in the mid-table update have become my bogey team, after three defeats to them from three games this season, however one of their goals seemed to go through the side-netting direct from a corner which I was not very pleased about. In the end we messed it up on the final day. All we needed was for Luton to beat York, or for us too win. We were in disastrous form and we lost. York beat Luton 2-1 and the title was theirs. I was gutted. At least we had the Playoffs to mess up in as well though. Final League Position: 2nd
Ridleys
Torquay United 2010/11 End of Season Update Part 3 The Playoffs & FA Trophy Final Playoff Semi Final Leg 1: Rushden & Diamonds vs. Torquay United I was not confident at all. They were in top form and we were on our worst form of the season. It was a dry day, the temperature was 11°C and 5328 people turned up at Nene Park to watch the game. The match was refereed by Simon Beck. 1 Min: Torquay get the game underway. 4 Min: Chance for Rushden, Sam Smith puts it narrowly over after a surgin run. 27 Min: Chance for Rushden, Andrew Burgess hits the post from a corner. GOAL FOR RUSHDEN!!! 56 Min: Double chance for Rushden, Dale Roberts clears the ball and Sam Smith chased after it. Sam Smith struck it from a wide angle, good save from the keeper. Andrew Burgess went for the rebound, but the keeper Martin Hansen dived on the ball. 60 Min: Chance for Torquay, Chris Armstrong played the ball down the left wing. Romaine Sawyers used his skill to go past Curtis Osano and then crossed the ball in to the box. Tim Sills met the ball with his head and finished nicely! GOAL FOR TORQUAY!!! 69 Min: Great chance for Rusden. Chris Armstrong played a risky pass along his own penalty box, Robert Grant picked up on the lose ball but missed the target by inches. 74 Min: Chance for Torquay. Danny Mitchley this time played a through ball for Tim Sills who had broke free of the defence. With only the keeper to beat Sills went for an audacious chip over the Rushden keeper but the ball trickled wide. 90+4 Min: The referee brings the game to a close. Torquay United win 2-1. Man of the Match: Tim Sills. Overview Match Stats Player Ratings Playoff Semi Final Leg 1: Torquay United vs. Rushden & Diamonds Just like in the league it was ours to lose, and I was determined that I wouldn't let that happen to me twice in one season. Again it was a dry day with temperatures at about 14°C which would have made great conditions for the 6090 spectators that came to watch the game at Plainmoor. Simon Beck was the referee again. 1 Min: Rushen got procedures underway. 8 Min: Chance for Rushden. Curtis Osano advanced with the ball before playing it to Andrew Burgess. Burgess then played it towards Jake Beecroft, who slotted the ball home! GOAL FOR RUSHDEN!!! 12 Min: Three chance for Torquay, Liam Corr makes three stupid long range efforts and all go harmlessly wide or over the bar. 19 Min: Chance for Torquay. Richie Baker dribbles past 3 Rushden players before having a go from long range. The ball drifts wide of the near post. 27 Min: Chance for Rushden. Jake Beecroft played a perfect pass to Sam Smith, who has found some space. Smith smashed the ball towards the top corner but put it high and wide. 33 Min: Free Kick to Torquay after Tim Sills was tripped by Michael Corcoran. George O'Gallaghan lined up the Free Kick! GOAL FOR TORQUAY!!! 45 Min: Chance for Torquay. Romaine Sawyers took the ball down the left wing and then floated in a cross. Tim Sills headed the ball goalwards but the ball deflected off the goalkeeper and went wide. 45+1 Min: The referee blows the whistle for half-time. The score is 1-1. 45 Min: Torquay kick off the second half. 47 Min: Chance for Torquay. Edrissa Sonko ran with the ball. Sonko tried a long range effort but scooped the ball well over the crossbar. 52 Min: Chance for Torquay. Dan Gray dribbled past Robert Grant and put in a low cross to the far post. Edrissa Sonko got free in the penalty area. Rushden Keeper Dale Roberts got down well. 53 Min: Chance for Torquay. Another speculative effort from Liam Corr. 72 Min: Chance for Torquay. Edrissa Sonko brought the ball forward. Sonko continued with the ball before hitting it from long range. The post denied Sonko a great goal. 76 Min: Two chances for Rushden. Lee Tomlin sprinted past Chris Armstrong. Tomlin puts it narrowly over. Martin Hansen restarts with a goal kick but kicks it straight back to Tomlin who has another effort but mis-hits it and it goes wide of the target. 84 Min: Penalty for Rushden after Chris Todd brought down Jake Beecroft. Daryl Clare Converted the penalty! GOAL FOR RUSHDEN!!! 90+2 Min: End of 90 Mins. The score was level, 3-3 on aggregate so the game went in to extra time. I was starting to regret saying that we couldn't blow it twice in 1 season. 90 Min: Rushden kicked off extra time. 102 Min: Chance for Rushden. Curtis Osano played the ball forward. Daryl Clare won the aerial challenge agaisnt Chris Todd and headed the ball down for Jake Beecroft. Beecroft shot right at the keeper. 105+1 Min: The referee blew his whistle to signal Half time in extra time. Score was still tied at 3-3 on aggregate. 105 Min: Torquay restarted the game. 108 Min: Chance for Rushden. Dale Roberts lifted the goal kick forwards. Andrew Burgess rose above Chris Todd to win the ball in the air. Burgess played the ball towards Rob Wolleaston. Wolleaston had the goal at his mercy and couldn't miss! GOAL FOR RUSHDEN!!! 115 Min: Chance for Torquay. Edrissa Sonko ran with the ball down the right. Sonko tried to find Tim Sills with a pass to the right. Sills put his effor well over the bar. 120+2 Min: The Final Whistle was blown. Rushden & Diamonds won 4-3 on aggregate. Torquay were out. Man of the Match: Jake Beecroft. Overview Match Stats Player Ratings The FA Trophy Final: Torquay United vs. Dagenham & Redbridge In between the two legs of the Playoff Semi Final we were up against Dagenham & Redbridge in the final of the FA Trophy at Wembley Stadium in London. Weather was not so good for this match, with breezy and showery conditions (maybe I should become a weather man instead of playing on Football Manager all summer!) making conditions not very ideal for a football game. 20403 fans turned up in Wembley and because I am genuinely gutted about the playoff result I am not going to do a big match report on it. The referee for the match was Phil Dowd. 1 Min: Dag & Red got the game underway. 45+1 Min: Half-time. I did say I wasn't going to do a long report 45 Min: Torquay got things started again in the second half. 68 Min: Chance for Torquay. Alex Rhodes aimed the corner towards the far post. Williamson headed the ball! GOAL FOR TORQUAY!!! 89 Min: Chance for Dag & Red. Danny Foster played the ball forward. Ben Strevens looked certain to score! GOAL FOR DAG & RED!!! 90+1 Min: End of 90 Minutes. Score is tied at 1-1 105 Min: Free Kick to Dag & Red. Ben Strevens Flighted in the Free Kick! GOAL FOR DAG & RED!!! 105+2 Min: Half Time in extra time. Dagenham & Redbridge lead 2-1. 116 Min: Chance for Dag & Red. Matty Done centred the ball. Nathan Toons made some space for himself and placed the ball in the back of the net! GOAL FOR DAG & RED!!! 120 min: The Ref blows for Full Time. Dagenham & Redbridge win The FA Trophy. Ridleys
Torquay Pre-season 2011/12 Decided to keep most of the squad from last season. Only brought in four players on free transfers and sold/released seven players who were surplus to requirements. The squad should have won the league last season but they messed it up twice so it wasn't very good, but I'm sure the squad is capable to do it this season. Transfers: In: Michail Antonio - MR, Signed on a Free Transfer from Reading We needed a backup right winger after having only one main one last season. Michail Antonio never played for Reading but has pretty decent stats in the right areas so I signed him on. Vincent Weijl - AML, Signed on a Free Transfer from Liverpool Another position we needed backup for was the left wing. Edrissa Sonko is going to be leaving the club shortly after he requested to be put on the transfer list, so I signed Vincent Weijl to replace him. Terry Gornell - ST, Signed on a Free Transfer from Leyton Orient With Tim Sills getting older (31 years old now) I felt the ned to bring in someone yougn as a possible future replacement. When I found Terry Gornell though I was very impressed, my scout said he should be regarded as a definite purchase so I signed him up pretty quickly. He will be rotating with Danny Mitchley. Kris Taylor - DL WBL ML/C, Signed on a Free Transfer from Hereford One of my favourite players for Hereford (even though he doesn't play for them anymore in real life) so I just felt the need to sign him. He is actually a very good player and should get straight in to the first team. Out: Nicky Wroe - MR/C, Sold to Darlington for £8k Ciaron Toner - MC, Sold to Weymouth for £3k Tyrone Thompson - MC, Sold to Weymouth for £8k Zeyn S-Latef - AMC FC, Released to Eastleigh Edriss Sonko - AML/R, Released to Wycombe Mark Ellis - DC, Released to Bournemouth Alex Rhodes - AML, Released to Bournemouth The Squad Goalkeepers Matin Hansen GK Gunnar Nielsen GK Steven Corr GK Defenders John Armstrong DR/C Mike Williams DL/C WBL Karl Broadhurst DC Mark Ellis DC Chris Todd DC Dan Gray DR WBR Kevin Nicholson DL WBL ML Midfielders Richie Baker AMR/C DR WBR Kris Taylor ML/C DL WBL Michail Antonio MR Joe Anyinsah AMR Liam Corr AMR/C Kevin Moffat AML Vincent Weijl AML George O'Gallaghan AMC Strikers Terry Gornell ST Danny Mitchley ST Tim Sills ST Craig Williamson ST Total Squad Players: 22 (+2) A very tidy looking squad in my opinion and I believe that it is strong enough to win the league without any adjustments. Hopefully the new signings get settled in quickly and then we should start winning games and scoring goals, like we did for most of last season. Friendlies: Some awesome performances in pre-season. Only 2 defeats, but great wins against Wrexham, Derby amd Shrewsbury have left me very impressed with the team I have compiled. I'm going to say we will win the league. Ridleys
Torquay United 2011/12 Mid Season Update Part 1 I really expect to do well this season, and so far so good in my opinion! August What a glorious start! No goals conceded and 11 goals scored in just 6 games. 5 wins and 1 draw left us unbeaten and joint top of the league! League Position: 2nd September Another solid month. A slightly dissapointing defeat against Histon, but brilliant wins at home to Stevenage, AFC Wimbledon and Morecambe left us top of the league and the highest scorers in England for the time being! League Position: 1st October Not a good start to the month, with a 4-0 defeat away at Woking, but then five wins on the trot left us 4 points clear at the top of the table. A good win against Barrow in the FA Cup as well. League Position: 1st
Ridleys
Torquay United 2010/11 Mid Season Update Part 2 November Quite a poor month in the league in comparison to the three other months played so far (we finally managed to beat Forest Green though!), but we still did well enough to stay at the top of the table by one point. Two more wins in the FA Cup as well meant that we were through to the FA Cup 3rd Round. Unfortunately we were drawn away at Northampton which was not the best of draws. We also beat Bournemouth in the Setanta Sports Cup on TV. League Position: 1st December A decent month. Unbeaten and now top of the table by 7 points again, but could have been 10 points clear had we have beaten Luton on boxing day but nevermind, we are pulling away now! We also progressed through to the next round of the FA Trophy. League Position: 1st League Table

Ridleys
Just had a pretty ridiculous game against Barrow. Two of my three keepers were on international duty so I was left with my rubbish backup keeper. It was 2-0 to us at half time, before my keeper decides to get injured, leaving me no choice but to put a half fit Kevin Moffat in goal. We lost 5-
Ridleys
Torquay United 2011/12 End of Season Update Part 1 January Another solid month. Lots of games played and mostly wins which is a good thing. A defeat in the FA Cup was unlucky as we would have played Liverpool away in the next round but life goes on. League Position: 1st February Brilliant stuff. 6 wins from 8 games and no defeats, so a pretty perfect month to be fair! Through to the FA Trophy Semi Final, which I am determined to win this year after losing it last year. League Position: 1st
Ridleys
Torquay United 2011/12 End of Season Update Part 2 March Not the best of months unfortunately. Three defeats in the league meant that our lead at the top of the table had been narrowed down to just 4 points. Through to the final of the FA Trophy again though and was drawn against the team who beat me last year, Dagenham & Redbridge. April Well i'm glad to say we didn't muck it up 2 years in a row thank god! A cracking 4-0 win in front of the home crowd against Southport won us the title with a game left to play. Played the reserve team for the final match against Luton and lost but played reasonably good football. Won the league by 1 point in the end. Final League Position: 1st, Champions. Ridleys
Torquay United 2011/12 End of Season Update Part 3 The FA Trophy Final The FA Trophy Final: Torquay United vs. Dagenham & Redbridge This time last year Dagenham & Redbridge beat me in The FA Trophy, but this year it was time for me to get revenge! Having already won the league and rested my players especially for my game we were in good shape and ready to do battle. Weather was showery (I still think I might be able to become a weather man someday) but reasonably warm at 17°C. 21937 people turned up to watch the match, a slight improvement on last years attendance and the game was refereed by Lee Mason. 1 Min: Torquay got the game underway. Nigeria boss Paul Bello was spotted in the stands. 4 Min: Corner to Torquay. Kevin Moffat swung in the corner! GOAL FOR TORQUAY!!! 10 Min: Chance for Torquay. Michail Antonio dribbled down the right hand side with the ball before crossing to the far post. Terry Gornell rose bravely above Dan Spence to win the header! GOAL FOR TORQUAY!!! 15 Min: Chance for Torquay. Michail Antonio threw the ball in. Danny Mitchley brought the ball forward. Mitchley played the ball along the floor towards Kevin Moffat who was in the area, Moffat finished well! GOAL FOR TORQUAY!!! 18 Min: Free Kick to Dag & Red. Joe Jacobsen hits it over the crossbar. 22 Min: Chance for Torquay. Michail Antonio advanced with the ball. Antonio squared the ball to Kris Taylor. Long range effort by Taylor, harmlessly wide of the target. 31 Min: Chance for Dag & Red. Matty Done worked the ball inside. Done fed the ball forward to Wesley Thomas. Thomas sent the ball high and wide of the goal. It was an unbelievable miss. 34 Min: Chance for Torquay. Kris Taylor darted past two challenges. Taylor shot for the top corner, and puts it well wide. 40 Min: Disallowed goal for Dag & Red. Wesley Thomas centred the ball. Leon McSweeney found some space in the area! GOAL FOR DAG & RED... but no, the linesman has ruled it out! Offside! 42 Min: Chance for Torquay. Danny Mitchley strolled forwards in the rain. Mitchley cut inside with the ball. Mitchley put the ball in to the six yard box! GOAL FOR TORQUAY!!! Mitchley scores an absolute fluke! 44 Min: Chance for Dag & Red. Matty Done found Soloman Taiwo with a pass to feet. Taiwo tried a long range attempt! GOAL FOR DAG & RED!!! 45+1 Min: Half Time. Torquay United have a comfortable lead. 4-1. Surely I couldn't lose now? 45 Min: Dag & Red got kicked off for the second half. 64 Min: Chance for Dag & Red. Soloman Taiwo interepted the pass. From way out, Taiwo hit the ball low towards goal! GOAL FOR DAG & RED!!! 83 Min: Penaltyto Dag & Red after Wesley Thomas was tripped by Mike Williams. Joe Jacobsen converted the penalty! GOAL FOR DAG & RED!!! 90+5 Min: The Final Whistle is blown. Torquay United have won The FA Trophy. Overview Match Stats Player Ratings

Ridleys
Torquay Pre-season 2012/13 In to my 3rd season at the club and I don't expect to be leaving any time soon, having signed a new 3 year contract at £500p/w at the club. A few more changes made this season due to the clubs promotion to the football league, and a lot of players were released to help me get underneath the wage budget. We have been generously priced at 16-1 to get promoted again and although I won't be looking at promotion this season I do hope that it is a sign that my team is good enough for this division. Transfers: In: Eric Williams - DC, Signed for £8k from Crewe My scouts recommended him towards the end of last season and said he would be a good signing for any League One team and for only £8k I thought that he was a bargain! Richard Rose - DR/L/C, Signed on a Free Transfer from Hereford With Karl Broadhurst and John Armstrong both leaving the club, we definately needed to bring in a new defender, so I went back to Hereford and picked up Richard Rose on a free transfer. Rob Purdie - AMR/C, Signed on a Free Transfer from Hereford Another player from Hereford. Was surprised he signed for us as a few teams from League One had offered him a contract, so I was delighted that he signed for us. Out: Alan Barnett - DC DM MC, Released on a Free Transfer Ryan Beattie - MC, Released on a Free Transfer Ed Palmer - DC, Released on a Free Transfer Richard Westcott - DL, Released on a Free Transfer Cameron Kelly - DR/C, Released on a Free Transfer Nick Milton - DR, Released on a Free Transfer Robert Hemming - DR MR, Released on a Free Transfer Joe Pryse - DC, Released on a Free Transfer Scott Simpson - GK, Released on a Free Transfer Ian Buckley - MC, Released on a Free Transfer Ryan Marshall - MC, Released on a Free Transfer Dale Mills - MC, Released on a Free Transfer Craig Evans - ST, Released on a Free Transfer Adam Harvey - DC, Released on a Free Transfer Jon Cass - GK, Released on a Free Transfer Ian Jarrett - DC DM MC, Released on a Free Transfer George O'Callaghan - AMC, Released to Cambridge Ashley Yeoman - AMR/C ST, Released on a Free Transfer John Armstrong - DR/C, Released to Cambridge Karl Broadhurst - DC, Released to Histon The Squad Goalkeepers Matin Hansen GK Gunnar Nielsen GK Steven Corr GK Defenders Richard Rose DR/L/C Mike Williams DL/C WBL Chris Todd DC Dan Gray DR WBR Eric Williams DC Midfielders Richie Baker AMR/C DR WBR Kris Taylor ML/C DL WBL Michail Antonio MR Joe Anyinsah AMR Liam Corr AMR/C Kevin Moffat AML Vincent Weijl AML Rob Purdie AMR/C Strikers Terry Gornell ST Danny Mitchley ST Craig Williamson ST Total Squad Players: 19 (-3) A smaller squad than last season, due to increased wages from gaining promotion, as well as having to spend more wages on the players that I had to bring in. Luckily we still have one of the largest squads in the division (at the moment) so hopefully that will give us some kind of an advantage. Friendlies: Some pretty boring friendlies in all fairness. An embarrasing defeat against Horsham is one that I'd rather forget as well.
Ridleys
Torquay United 2012/13 Mid Season Update Part 1 I'm hoping that we can get around 45 points too make sure that we can stay clear of safety. August A brilliant start to our league campaign as we go straight up towards the top of the table in to 3rd position and remained unbeaten! A poor result in the League Cup, but against a team in a higher division so I couldn't have expected much more than a defeat. League Position: 3rd September Another very good month! Only 1 defeat in the league thus far and we're looking very very impressive. Really hoping I can start winning some more matches as we are drawing too many at the moment. A good win in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy as well against Kettering. League Position: 7th October A pretty average month really, but enough too take us out of a playoff position momentarily for the first time of the season, luckily a win against Barnet on the final day of the month kept us in 7th position. Once again too many draws which could really have been wins, spoiled the month. We were also knocked out of the Johnstone's Paint Trophy by Gillingham. League Position: 7th
Ridleys
Torquay United 2012/13 Mid Season Update Part 2 November A poor month really. No wins in the league and almost an upset in the FA Cup when we were held to a 1-1 draw away at Nantwich, the only positive from the month was that we managed to win the replay, but even that was a pretty poor result. We are slowly slipping down the table. We are just above halfway in my aim for the season of 45 points. League Position: 12th December A much improved month yet we still continue to slip down the league table, albeit only one place. A defeat in the FA Cup was pretty undeserved with the opposition scoring 2 rather dubious goals. Only 3 wins and a draw are needed to get up to my aim of 45 points for the season which should see us remain in the division for another season. League Position: 13th League Table
Ridleys
Torquay United 2012/13 End of Season Update Part 1 January An average month again, but only one league win. We were lucky to stay in 14th position in all fairness. We were unlucky against Darlington, had to play 5 reserve players (and my reserve team is terrible) because we had an injury crisis. League Position: 14th February Too many defeats this month. At least we managed to pick up two wins which added six points to our tally, taking us on to 39 points for the season, with six points needed to meet my aim of 45 points for the season. League Position: 14th
Ridleys
Torquay United 2012/13 End of Season Update Part 2 March Well what a month! Unbeaten in all seven league games this month and we exceeded my 45 point aim for the season pretty easily! Are away form continues to be pretty woeful however, with only two wins so far away from home in the league! League position: 12th April Well we managed 10 games before finally get beaten, at home to eventual champions of the league Aldershot. We were actually only 5 points off the playoffs before that game, so we definately had a chance, but it was still going to be a tough chance. It was pretty much all over after that Aldershot game so for the last couple of games I gave some more of the reserve team a chance. League Position: 12th May Just the one game this month, the final game of the season. It was a shame that the season ended in defeat, but it often does for me anyway so it's no big deal. Hopefully we can push for a playoff or even a promotion place for next season. Final League Position: 13th

Raware
Good consolidation season there. Hopefully, with a few additions you can make it out of League 2 in a year or so. Just a couple of things which i'm sure you won't mind me saying... The post above has a couple of errors - The season says 11/12 but you're in season 12/13 and your career summary says you finished 13th in the BSP when you finish 13th in League 2. Other than that, great work so far
