JamJarz
Anyone know any ways of directly increasing influence of a player. I have someone on 15 atm and they would be the perfect captain, already is in many ways but i want him to get that few extra vital Influence points. chopper99
I think I've read that it is possible by simply making this player the captain. As they get older and spend time as the captain this should lead to a rise in their influence attributed.
ftg87
Similar to chopper, I think I have read that getting them to tutor someone will make it rise, as, again similar to chopper's post, the responsibility makes them more influential, if that makes sense lol
mbchuz
I'd assume having your young captain-to-be mentored by a "born-leader" (or the best leader you've got) would have some very positive effects on his mental attributes, hopefully 'influence' in particular
boywonder9
I've had the same captain for 4 years. He has gone from 15 to 19. He is now both club and country captain at 29. I expect he'll max out influence in the next year or two. So you can get at least a point a year gain in influence. Whether he would have had those gains without being named captain I can't answer. stonegate
Some players are natural captains. Two of my young players have gone from 12 - 16 over the last two years
Amaroq
There was a poster at one time who claimed to have raised Influence from 3 to 15 by naming the player captain for several years. Since reading that post, I've ceased using Influence as my key determining factor in choosing a captain, and have put more focus on the "intangibles": Teamwork, Work Rate, Composure, Bravery, etc. I've never put somebody in as low as 3 but I have seen rises from 12 up to 17, and haven't experienced any negative effects. TomHAVFC
I think it increases as the player gets older as it is a mental stat.
