So I've an idea for a tactic..

It's probably been done before, and if so, please point me in the right direction.

Basically, I want no risk, high possession, keep ball. The "Anti-Zeman if you will...

The way I've set it up so far is:

GK-D

LWB-S

CD-C

CD-DE

RFB-A

A

LCM-D

BBM-S

RPM-S

T

DLF-S

Ease off tackles, shoot less often, dribble less, fewer risky passes as standard (Treq aside)

Team instructions: Control, very fluid, much lower tempo, narrow, deeper defensive line, closing down sometimes, prevent short GK distribution, stay on feet, play out of defence, shorter passing, retain possession, be more disciplined, work ball into box.

I hope the above gives an indicator of what type of football I want to try and succeed with? I'd rather the ball be passed back to the GK, than have a low risk pass forward. No long goal-kicks/passes...

Anyway, any tips/advice?

I just tried something remarkably similar, based on Italy's 1994 World Cup team. It was more of a regular 4-4-2 than this but...

I got smashed. A lot.

Ultimately, no-one is getting in the box, and it doesn't work. Maybe 20 years ago...
