Might look to treat myself to a laptop soon to go with my PC. Budget could be as high as £1,000, but preferably closer to £500 if possible. Current plan is to use as just a laptop for PC and light browsing (no watching Netflix or spotify or anything) so that I can play FM in the family and half-watch tv rather than hiding away in the office all night/weekend. Work situation may change if I move out next year which might mean I'd need to be able to do spreadsheet work, multiple PDFs open, internet, some form of photo viewing app (if anyone knows a current working program similar to Picasa that's also handy to know) all at the same time which may be something to bear in mind.
My PC has AMD Ryzen 3600 processor, 32GB RAM and Nvidia GeForce GTX 1660 Ti which probably means more to you than it does to me. I'm not too knowledgeable about the ins and outs of processors and all that, I just sent my mate the FM specs and asked him to build me a PC. I think it's quite a decent spec (?) and don't think I'd need a laptop to be at that level. I guess, being able to do a week in 20 mins for a laptop would be a reasonable expectation given I'd prefer not to spend more than I have to.
What kev suggested for cgranters above looks decent and at the preferred end of the price scale but if there's something better for not much more? https://www.box.co.uk/82KD0008UK-Lenovo-V15-G2-Ryzen-7-8GB-RAM-256GB-SSD-_3614140.html
Cheers in advance, it's a helluva job you guys do
