  1. Fixed an issue where if the same team (typically Mexican) won both the North and South American championship (using my fantasy file) in the same year, then the inter-American stage here would have trouble drawing in some years. Now the Libertadores runner-up would get called up to represent CONMEBOL instead (even if it means a quick rematch of the Libertadores final). Mind you, if you've been keeping an eye on the football headlines you'll know the likelihood of this tournament is not too popular...
  2. Here's some minor adjustments to the Copa América this summer to put games at the correct stadiums. It's a small thing, but I hate seeing games hosted at the big college stadiums when it's all flashy new NFL stadiums in real life. Might work on a fantasy version expanding it to 24 teams with some invited teams like in the past. DOWNLOAD (backup) Edit: Not sure if I broke the Finalissima (Euro vs. Copa America winner)... is that working for anyone else since the latest update? Doesn't seem to have drawn here, but it may be a fate action or something I accidentally wiped somehow
  3. Could be something with the stage number or a setting somewhere else (maybe in the Championship) that needs a minor adjustment after you've changed the final stages around
  4. That's so cool though. Love the experimentation. Although I guess an FA Cup run would make it even worse. The shortened 3x11 split sounds compelling but you don't want, say, Ross County's players to play 3 less games than everyone else. There's no clean way to split up 14 teams into even groups though. This is a bit more extreme but I guess you could make the SPL 10 teams since we're missing the OF anyway. Have them play 4 times each for 36, then add the OF and split (a few weeks later than usual) into 4x4x4? Can the game handle two splits? I think I saw a setting for that. 39 games in total, 3 extra for the OF. Or 3x3x3x3 but I don't know if the game can handle three splits Imagine an Old Firm game on Sunday in one competition, then Wednesday in another. You could give the SPL games the highest priority so they get the weekend slot too, those insanely early kickoffs feel very Scottish-y
  5. This is brilliant, great work. At one point I was thinking of shoehorning the Old Firm into the SPL 2nd stage (fixtures 34 to 38) but it would be a lot of games for them. Are the reserves/U21s fully picked up in England? I remember having issues with that before but will take a look. You may wanna add "ignore teams" entries for both in the Viaplay Cup "qualified teams" so they're not picked up there as well. Also wonder if there's a way to make it so the 2nd and 3rd Scottish teams don't necessarily think they've "qualified" for the Champs playoff in cases where they haven't. But yeah top stuff
  6. Did you create it? It looks like the long name/short name issue. The "long name" is shown in the second screenshot, "short name" in the first. I'd guess you duplicated an existing U21 player of the year award. You changed the long name to "Belgian U21 Player of the Year", but the short name already said "U21 Player of the Year" or something so you kept it. HOWEVER, the "short name" of any created/duplicated entry does have to register a change. You can change one letter, tab away, and then click back and change it back. You'll see in the bottom left of the editor that the appropriate "changes" are now registered and it has a short name. Really, every entry on every created/duplicated item in the database should be double checked like this. Copying and pasting does the same thing, sometimes it will, like, say a coach has a full-time contract because you pasted someone else's details, but really it's "blank" until it registers a specific change there and will default to whatever that league/club/competition allows (like part-time)
  7. I would say the simpler the better, as I learned the advanced rules I had a lot of redundant settings and sort of "legacy code" where I'd learn a much easier/better way to do something, but I already had all these weird workarounds that depended on each other so I couldn't really fix it properly. Sometimes just taking a Saturday to start fresh with a new rules file and very few changes (can do that in another file) can streamline things
  8. Isn't that just lads who happen to have been trained in England? Scott Bain for example (and future newgens) should have Scottish HG status but don't have it there
  9. Cheers! The Coronation Cup is one season only mind you, but the improved CONCACAF continental stuff this year was nice from SI and makes it worth playing. I thought about something like a Commonwealth Champions League but I this is enough along that theme for now
  10. Could look at Scotland with the league split. And then just take the hidden stages they use for that, and set them to groups instead of a league phase. Maybe check out Belgium for a championship stage that doesn't send results back to the main league actually, sounds more in line with what you're thinking.
  11. Oh OK, they did update the lower league rosters? I hadn't realized. That's crazy. But they left MLS rosters as in 2023? I'll look into making some adjustments then, ideally we can figure out what's going on with USL-C salaries though, in the meantime it's not playable from USL-C down with that new glitch anyway
  12. Apparently the ASEAN Club Championship is finally being played this year, with a big-money sponsor so it might actually happen. Supposedly it will overlap with the AFC Champions League, but if you're playing in Indonesia or Thailand or thereabouts then I imagine the fixture pile-up will be pretty crazy: DOWNLOAD (backup) I've also given the winner a spot in the Pan-Pacific Championship as long as they're not in the ACL last 16 (or AFC Cup) the following January.
  13. I know, but 2023 is the default setup in the game, I mean look at the last update, they even clarified they're not doing 2024 updates/transfers in calendar-year leagues like this. From past experience trying to make these kinds of updates for the NEXT season (2024 in this case) results in MLS and the lower leagues being a weird hybrid of 2023/2024. Even if we updated all the clubs and rosters we'd likely miss something, and would have to cut, like, the pro guys from Flower City (who won the title IRL) so the club can move to USL2. Alternately trying to make the clubs move themselves after one season would throw up issues like that, especially teams like Flower City going from pro to semi-pro. Plus, it's like these changes happened because of things that happened IRL, like at some point during the course of 2023 an unsuccessful organization decided to leave, or a new team decided to join. These events aren't necessarily happening in FM-world which starts with the 2023 line-ups in early 2023. Also I'm lazy and already did all the work on scheduling and formats
