I have a tactic set up, which is performing well and is winning me titles and so on. But in the search for perfection, or optimisation, I come seeking some advice.
My formation is a 4-3-3 (DM) variant, it's a modified template of the gegenpress, but is basically tuned to be lower tempo, so it's not total overkill. Anyway, it works put it that way, we've won record breaking points hauls for four seasons on the bounce. Everyone gets 7-8+ average ratings, my main goalscorer is an IF on the left wing (intended), and the team regularly scores via a DLF, DLP and Mezzala, so I have FOUR goalscoring outlets (crazy, I know). I also have a hefty amount of assists coming from the DLP/Mezz combination, so they're working like a well oiled machine.
My issue is the right wing; When it works, it's superb, honestly. But say, 6 times out of 10, they're mostly anonymous, in fact, they're the ONLY position to get under a 7 average rating consistently across the seasons, bar the odd season where they outperform and score goals to pad the rating. Therefore, my conclusion is that I must have the wrong role selected for this particular position, since the rest is pretty much top tier.
Here's my tactic:
Again, as I said, main scorer is the IF, which is what I want. A lot of the play is central/left. The issue is the IW/S is underperforming. Checking the pass maps, I see the IW is probably too close to the Mezzala for comfort, but I'm trying not to switch them to a bog standard winger - I kind of like the idea of having them as a creative passing outlet. I'm not too familiar with using a Treq/AP out on the wings to be very honest, so would anyone be happy to advise on how they might play around a Mezzala?
For the record, the people I use in the IW role are Sancho (right footed) and Diallo (left footed) - both blow very hot and cold in that position, again it's the only position averaging 6.8-9 basically, they'll have one or two good games then a sting of 6.2-5 performances, so I'm clearly not getting the best of them.
Any help? It would be great to get that position working as it would basically finish off the tactic.
