Failed Graphics System

I've uploaded the patch but can not play the game cause whenever I try and launch it through steam, it says in a pop-up;Cannot run game:Failed to set up graphics system. So can someone please tell me what to do?

look in the main folder for football manager for directx

then find, "DXSETUP"

run that, then try again

I've done that but it says;This setup executable has not been packed with files and settings.Please use the PACKER tool to build this executable.

Error code:S1001

I think the key thing is too never do things through steam- or anything where you aren't in control. What a mess it seems like everythings in..

I went down to the shops, bought it, authenticated it and im off and away.

I feel sorry for you guys who can't get it working (especially fellow Aussies).

My mate is having the same problem.

Im getting the exact problem!

Its stupid that hardly anybody can get this game to work, when all the older versions were easy to install!

Does anybody actually no how to get around this problem??

Previous versions did work but we're now using DirectX for the 3D stuff and this is the first time in about eight year we've used it.

Will the download your suggesting still work even through I'm going through steam?

Ive downloaded the sdk file,but when insatlling i keep getting error s1010. Where do you install the sdk file to?. Is it a new file or the fm2009 direct x file. thanks

What a ****ing mess. Shame on you SI, I expected better, you've became another disgraceful company.

There is a thread set up that explains how to fix this issue for the majority of graphics cards which are below minimum spec for the game http://www.community.sigames.com/showthread.php?t=63029 - if this doesn't work, then please post a separate thread in the technical support area, with full details of your graphics card.

Tell me why I can't load up FM 2009 like 2008 - and then not use the 3D pitch - which from what I've played on my bro's PC doesn't look graphically demanding at all.

while I'm here, the 0 and O's on the activation key are exactly the ****ing same - Terrible.

bought the game on friday and still havent been able to play on it and its sunday now. its an absolute joke!!

i downloaded direct x however when i go to open it to install it,a message appears saying "this setup excutable has not been packed th files and settings,please use the packer tool to build this excutable" i havent got a clue what to do,whats the solution??

Find another location to download it from.

have tried downloading that about 4 or 5 times and everytime i get so far before it comes up with 'error code s1001' this setuphas not been packed with files and settings please use the packer tool to build the excuteable!

Im getting the ERROR S1001 aswell

arent there any smaller files by which i can solve this graphic problem

Steam has well and truly been uninstalled but still get the s1010 message, Any further ideas? Thanks
