JordanT
Put in simple stages how i get this patch on release day? im totally confused at the moment with what im reading across the forum
JumbledSausage
There will be two ways: 1) If you authenticate your product through Steam (either you buy it and download it directly, or you choose to authenticate with steam from a boxed copy), then you will get the patch automatically as soon as it is released. 2) If you authenticate either online (not through steam) or by telephone, then you will have to download the patch as normal, and links, usually, are posted on these forums. I hope that clears things up for you. Oh,and for future reference, could you make your post title a tad more informative - not getting at you at all, its just that it makes things easier if you know what the question is before you open the thread, otherwise people might ignore it
108
Basically, come onto the forum on the day of release. Look at the top of the forum for an announcement, which should be a sticked thread at the top. It will give you the patch in a file to download, once downloaded you install it and it will automatically integrate itself into FM 09. You then start a new game. JumbledSausage
Erm.. yeah sort of but what is steam? because ive never heard of it. You can find more information about steam on http://store.steampowered.com/ Steam itself is free to download, and you could say that it is an application center and marketplace. You can purchase games through steam, and steam itself is used for authentication purposes for various games, including Half Life 2, among others. JordanT
Oh right thats made it a bit clearer. Thanks for quick replies
Andrew_
No need to download Steam. Just as easy coming to the forums, clicking on the sticky at the top and downloading the patch... then you won't have pointless software on your computer
trekman
You do not have to start a new game after installing a patch as they are always save game compatable unless they also contain a data update.
