count blake
I hate those season when I'm like 2nd in the Prem with some crap team because I know the expectations are gonna be stupid next year. Only when I build a good team spend cash non stop and am ready to win the league I get a poop season outta my team. I mean dont get me wrong I do have good season with good teams and **** seasons with **** teams, but this irratating occurence is more than just a one off. I hate it, and I bet most people do. backpackant
Yes, it can be difficult when a new manager is in or you bring in a lot of new players. I once sold the entire Chelski squad and replaced them with better players (except a couple I couldn't sell) and struggled to win games. Arsenal beat me 6-0 at home. Got fired in November, and the new guy (Aguirre) got them to 9th. Then he got fired at the end of the season. Not my favourite save.

glamdring
2nd season syndrome was great for me at Werder Bremen - we won the title. Talking of increased expectaions though, we were expected to retain it, but got struck by 3rd season syndrome and finished some 22 points behind Bayern Munich! backpackant
Oh, yeah. 2nd season syndrome. I walked the first season with Liverpool - won it with 6 games left to play - then in season 2 I was mid-table in November. Have crawled up to 3rd by Jan, though.
