OneAVB
I am managing Portsmouth currently in February first season and shortly after receiving a news item from the board warning with the threat of administration, I received a news item saying 'Portsmouth become PLC.' I am pleased our debt has been restructured but can anyone give me a bit more info on what this means for the club and any pros or cons of being a PLC? cheers
Nocuous
It means that you're no longer privately owned and that the club have raised funds through selling shares to the public.
OneAVB
Ok thanks does this rule out any future takeovers?

jcoll
I'd imagine you'd raise additional capital through sale of shares.
FrazT
If you make a profit, then some of this will be passed on to the shareholders, so you may have less money fro transfers etc.
bolulu
Ok thanks does this rule out any future takeovers? No! Club can be bought from the Plc by another entity, just the same as a private owner might sell.

A team of Kermorgants
profits will be taken out every season and given to shareholders, the amount varies club to club.
