destroyed2011
Yeah there's an offline mode, which allows you to start Steam without connecting to the internet everytime you open it. There's different ways of doing it depending on whether your using Windows or Mac. Here's a guide: https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=3160-AGCB-2555
Dan BHTFC
Just go onto the game on Steam Library, right click, go to proerties and you can turn off the auto update

darkfng
that just resets itself everytime you log onto steam I am not sure that it resets every time you log into steam, but is certainly unreliable. The best thing you can do is set steam to offline mode.
