What the heck? It took more than 5 years for SI to understand a champion league rule?

Recommended Posts

Every year's February Champion league registration, 1 team can register 1 player who played UEFA Cup( forgot what is it called now) for another team this season. There are a BUNCH of real life examples. The rule started in 2006 but till FM 2011 it didn't apply in the game. I don't know is there a problem for SI to know or fully understand it?

Taken from UEFA rules.

Subsequent registration

17.17 For all matches from the start of the first knockout round, a club may register maximum of three new eligible players for the remaining matches in the

current competition. Such registration must be completed by

1 February 2008 at the latest. This deadline cannot be extended.

17.18 One player from the above quota of three who has played UEFA club

competition matches for another competing club in the current season may

exceptionally be registered, provided that the player has not been fielded:

− in the same competition for another club

− for another club that is currently in the same competition.

Furthermore, if the player’s new club is playing in the UEFA Cup, his former

club must not have played in the UEFA Cup at any point in the current

season.

Take note of the highlighted part. Are you sure this does not apply to you and your player/s ?? Because , as far as I'm aware, FM has this rule already in place. Also be aware of the more than two clubs rule in a season, that affects all competitions. Perhaps, consider the reality before accusing.
