Installation via DVD - Play without the disk NO steam???

I have a query regarding the installation process for FM11. The last FM that I played was FM09. Now it has been a while since I installed the game, but I remember that I installed via the DVD, but I was able to play the game without the disk in the disk drive and I did not have steam installed. Is this possible for FM11 or was it only possible in FM09?

If you install via DVD then you must have the disk inserted in order to play the game. If you install via STEAM then you can play without the disk. Two ways.

I understand this, but on FM09 I installed with the disk but played without it. Was this an FM09 only feature?

FM 09 activation system was different to FM 11- it is either the disc in place or Steam, although you can have Steam in offline mode.

you can put the dvd in the dvd drive and select to install via steam, once you insert the game code which is on the back of the games booklet then you do not need the dvd anymore and can just load up the game via steam which is a super idea
