Is there any special tatics that work better than others?

I remember in the past 4 3 1 2 worked very well and what is the special corner taking?

Depends on the strengths of your squad, I find. 4-4-2 is my favoured formation right now, although I do like a 4-2-3-1 as well. But there will be more in-depth discussion re tactics in the tactics forum. Detailed discussion in general questions tends to get closed so people who don't want to see it won't accidentally stumble across it.

4-4-2 works best for me as well, only change for me is that i have my wide midfields set as wingers instead.

It seems the most successful tactics around are 4-1-2-1-2 or 4-1-2-0-3 in general on this match engine. But as the others have said, you can't go far wrong with a classic 4-4-2.

The corner bug is stickied on the top of the tactics and training forum, I recommend avoiding it completely as it makes the game far too easy.
