Jonny20
I no they start with a shed load of money on the new patch but is carson yeung a sugar daddy and therefore regularly plough more money into the club??? Hershie
I don't think so, no. As far as I'm aware, Yeung isn't even particularly wealthy in comparison to a number of other chairmen and directors at Premier League clubs. A number of other clubs have owners with a fortune far in excess of that of Yeung. I think his personal weath is estimated at about £30mil, which pales in comparison to almost all Premier League owners.
Hershie
Just found this in fact: http://fourfourtwo.com/lists/richlist200910thefull100.aspx Yeung is at 69th with an estimated £30mil. Compare that with someone like Kroenke, Lewis or even Al Fayed and it's a nothingness.

stevio11
The point you are all missing is that there are some serious money people from china behind Yeung who will provide the funds as we are the only Prem club owned by them and will be marketed well so even more money to come. Hershie
That's not being a sugar daddy though, and chances are it'll be neither a significant amount, nor a constant stream of finance. Similarly it's likely that there'll be associated loans/debts that get tied to the club, as it'd be unlikely (and foolish) that investors would simply hand over unconditional, unsecured/unattached amounts of their own money. They may well get a significant amount of money in through investment, and may see increased sponsorship and such, but that's a bit of a long-term fantasy. Right now they have an amount of money to spend and a lot of ambition, but certainly not a sugar daddy or anything of the sort.

Hershie
There are lots of people at #69? He's on the 3rd (lower) page I think. 80-76 69. Carson Yeung £30m Birmingham City Age unknown, new entry Two years since Carson Yeung bought a 29.9% stake in Birmingham City, he's finally taking over from long-time director and benefactor David Sullivan. When the deal is complete Yeung will hold an 86% stake via his Grandtop International Holdings, a Hong Kong-quoted apparel and entertainment operation. Birmingham City is worth around £78m on the stock market; Grandtop is worth £95m, but had to ask shareholders for approval to raise the £57m it needed to complete the transaction. Yeung, who originally trained as a hairdresser, is believed to have made his fortune investing in penny stocks. He co-founded Greek Mythology, a luxury casino in Macau. He has a 17% stake in Grandtop worth over £16m, with other assets and business interests making up the rest of his fortune.
vivu
Most news items pointing towards a personal fortune of 150 mil pounds, also mentions a shady consortium based from Cayman being the owner rather than Yeung as sole owner. Has the potential to be the next Pompey, especially if they spend the promised 80 mil in summer
stevio11
Debt free at the moment and will not spend 80 million in the summer. The consortium is from China and includes one of the wealthest women in chinese business so no pompey happening here
