Moving to a new computer

Hi,

I'm going to change computer and I would like to know if it is possible to continue the game on a new machine.

Is it enough to paste the saved game on the new machine?

I have also made some modification with the editor. Are they included in the savegame?

i think it would be possible but you would need to copy all SI Files and also all FM2010 files on your machine, the reason being each game is unique so if you just installed the game as new on your new machine and tried to .load an old save game it would not work. Someone correct me if i am wrong please.

Yes to both. Just remember to patch the game if you had done so on the previous machine.

Keep your saved game and any other data you have used until now as these will have to be placed in the same folders on the new machine.

Also remember to copy your Hall of Fame data file as well, or you'll lose any points you gained from winning trophy's when you play on your new computer.

When I changed computers this summer I installed FM on my new computer (+patches) and moved my save game, logo packs and skins using an external HD, no problems occurred.

My Documents>Sports Interactive> FM10>saved games (or something very similar to that)

Steam just allows you to install the game on multiple machines. All your save data is stored locally on each individual machine, however, and is not carried across if you start using a new computer.

Found it dudge, thank you. I'm now stuck trying to find the Hall of Fame data. Any ideas?

Sorry mate, not sure where the hall of fame data file is although I imagine it would be in one of the folders in the FM10 folder in My Documents. Have a look around in there.
