433formation
Does a manager's wage and contract length mean anything in FM2010? Does it have any impact in the game?
Jolanthustrel
It means they are less likely to sack you if you have an expensive long term contract.

Tomer
It means they are less likely to sack you if you have an expensive long term contract. And that other clubs are less likely to offer you a job, since the compensation will be high.
RBF652
Every time they offer me a contract, I try to put it to £0 to help the finances but I can't do it...

I don't think you can ask for less wages than they offer you, only negotiate higher.

Yeah you can't try to lower the wages, as I guess most people would set it to £0 in order to help their finances. Personally I do take into account the amount of money offered, in the interest of realism. I also think it would be more realistic if when you receive a job offer for better money, your current club should try to offer you an improved contract in order to tempt you to stay. I dont think that feature would be too difficult to add to the game, and would be of great benefit.

Ryknow
Comes out of the staff wages under expenses I think. The wage bill is for the playing staff only.
