Legion22
My strikers hitting every 1v1 straight at the keeper but my centerbacks scoring 35 yard screamers?
phnompenhandy
Best to read before writing. Check one of the many threads on patch 10.2.
Legion22
No need to be clever. Is this being looked at by SI? I can`t find anythng about it on the forums.
Tomer
Yes, it is being looked at.
Brian Shanahan
No need to be clever. Is this being looked at by SI? I can`t find anythng about it on the forums. Well there are many threads on the forum about this, and the SI guys have put up a pretty convincing arguement in them that 1 on 1s especially ones where you're straight on the keeper are as easy as people think. Legion22
Maybe they aren`t easy, but I would expect my strikers to do something beyond hit it straight at the keeper repeatedly.
Tez01979
What else can they do. The have three options. 1. Hit it at keeper. 2 Hit it at corners of goals, at risk of hitting post, bar or god forbid the back of the net and 3 Hit it wide. Either that or they can Try and play Pick the fan that we want to hit.
Legion22
What? No, not at all they can. 1) Hit it at the keeper 2) Put it to either side of the keeper 3) Draw the keeper and lob him 4) Go around him 5) Feint a shot, making the keeper go down, then put it past him Further, you make it sound like options 1 and 3 are equally valid as 2, which they obviously aren`t. Tez01979
When have you ever seen a player in FM Feint a shot. I don't think I've ever seen it tbh. Would be a good idea though. While SI are looking into the issue with 1 on 1's maybe they could code this into the game
Legion22
No, I mean thats what he could do, I didn`t mean I had seen it in game
SI Staff PaulC Posted January 5, 2010 SI Staff Share Posted January 5, 2010 The following issues are under review for 10.3: - Keepers being too effective at point blank range - Excessive number of one on ones in central areas - The choice of finish in such situations However, we do consider that in a one on one situation the keeper has an advantage in that he can engage the attacker and close down the angle. So dont expect a 90% success rate in 10.
StevoRobbo
id say a good 70% of one on ones are converted though. Is this more likely to be the region of the success rate?
Tomer
http://community.sigames.com/showthread.php?t=177980 ^ that is an earlier discussion about the same issue.
Legion22
Good stuff. If, however, the keeper does come out to narrow the angles, will we see the strikers attempt to go round the keeper?
