Is max cash still tied to reputation?

I haven't tried on FM10 yet. But in FM09 the maximum cash you could give a club was tied to the clubs reputation. You couldn't give a club with low reputation a bundle of cash without raising reputation.

Is it still like that in FM10?

Yeah, but take this scenario. Some arab oil billionaire buys a crappy league 2 club he can put in a huge amount of cash even though the club has a low reputation. Then the reputation should rise as they start spending.

However in FM, you can't "simulate" this scenario without raising the reputation of the club beforehand.

Agreed should be looked at. I could bring you a good example, CFR Cluj from Romania their owner bought the club when they were in the 4th tier in Romania and pumped them full with cash, after 6-7 season now they where cup winners, champions, and even played in the champions league. I doubt that if anyone who played there looked at the clubs stature like no cups, championships etc. They went there for the money.

Yes you can add significant amount for the club in the BSN / BSS leagues but still in real life there would not be any cap limit for money. Just think if say as Butters mentioned there would be a billionaire who wont have problems with bank loans either in 7-8 years time he could get a champions league worthy club even in England.

Maybe they should remove reputation limit only if "sugar daddy" or "super rich chairman" option is available.
