Plumble
I have an issue with my FM09. It was working all fine when i first got the game but now when ever i put the CD in and click on my desktop icon, i get the Faultrep.DLL error message and FM doesn't load. I was wondering if anyone could help me figure out what is wrong and how to fix it. I have tried re-installing my game a number of times and that doesn't help. All help appreciated
muncherdave
You don't need the DVD in your machine at all, it should run fine without it. Other than that I'm not sure what to suggest other than clearing the cache and reinstalling.
Hershie
Faultrep.dll is the built-in windows error-reporting tool IIRC; I don't think it's an issue with the game. Does the issue happen with any other applications?
Plumble
Haven't really noticed it happening with any other applications but you're most probably right. How would i go about fixing this problem?
Hershie
I don't know really. I wouldn't go messing around with Windows files, so maybe a non-destructive reinstall of the OS is your best bet if it is indeed an issue with the operating system. However I'd avoid such a route until you know that it's not a game-based issue. I'm sure someone in the support forum will be of better help than me. Neji
What is the exact error?
Plumble
It says: The application would not start because faultrep.DLL could not be found.
Hershie
It says:The application would not start because faultrep.DLL could not be found. Have you deleted anything from Windows or system32 folders? You might be able to download the appropriate dll online. I've checked and the file should be in C:\Windows\System32.

Neji
Google for faultrep.DLL, it should bring up a download link. Download it and extract it to your System32 folder.
