Saxonaitor
As mentioned in title, I know this is due to some rights thing but why? Is their some reasonable reason or is at just an excuse? And also, do the squads get populated by regens later on in the game? Otherwise it really is an annoying little thing. Small in the grand scale of things I understand but it really is on of those little things that make the world go round if you will. This is not a blame to SI it's a question. ahmufcwafc
Licensing issue. Yep, regens can get into the squad. EA have the rights to Germany and Konami have the rights to Japan.
Saxonaitor
But why? Surely they can share. (Sounding like parent there )

Amaroq
EA and Konami both like to sign "exclusive" rights deals, which mean not only do they have the rights to use the property in question, but no other game developer can - even if the main titles don't directly compete. (E.g., FIFA '09 doesn't compete with FM '09). They pay a large premium above and beyond the normal rights fee to ensure it. I'm going to close this thread, Sax. Not that we've covered any objectionable ground yet, but this is a topic which all-too-easily degenerates into an argument about exclusive rights deals, company-bashing, or a technical discussion which we can't host on this forum.
