SimmoMC
With my Palace team in my first season in the premiership I came 4th so I was pleased I had managed to get CL football. However, for some reason I'm not in the champions league and am in the 'Euro Cup'. why is this? Arsenal came 5th but won the CL so is that why they took me place and if so when that happened with Liverpool, Everton werent taken out of the cup? Any explanation please? Nomis07
The rule was brought in after the Liverpool, Everton fiasco.

Nomis07
Something had to be done. The winner had to be in the competition and it isn't fair on smaller teams, telling them that they aren't allowed in, despite winning their league, because a bigger team qualified in 4th. eXistenZ
Stupid rule. In FM08, Arsenal came 7th but won the CL n a game of mine. year afther they ended about 10th but lost in the finale of the CL to Man Utd. got what they deserve
Nomis07
Stupid rule. In FM08, Arsenal came 7th but won the CL n a game of mine. Surely the team who won the CL is more worthy of a place than a team that finished 4th?
Severus_steaua
the winner of the cup always gets a wild card
santy001
Surely the team who won the CL is more worthy of a place than a team that finished 4th? To be fair, the team that wins the trophy for league 1/2 teams is more worthy than 4th place if you think about it, at least they're champions of something lol. Ozzy38
It says a lot that a few years ago a new rule had to be created that the winner automatically qualifies. Gone are the days when the champions of Europe were a sight to behold and could be considered the actual best in European football.
