We receive reports following a youth match which highlight the best player in the match but if we want to praise him we can only say something to the effect that he's been a good influence on the rest of team. We are not able to comment on his scoring or passing ability in the same manner as we do for the first team. Similarly, we are unable to criticise a poor performance. Furthermore, the youth players do not appear to react either positively or negatively to any criticism or praise. I think that it would be an improvement If we could have "first team" conversations with the youth players and they reacted reacted in a similar manner to the senior squad.
