Players of the Season

In number one spot, Amarildo has been insane this season averaging 8.5 rating this season. His 40 goals this season were a brilliant return, but his all round play have been fantastic. He got a bad spine injury towards the end of the season, which ended his season early, while we managed without him, we are different team with him, he deserves my player of the season.

Filhao has been brilliant this season. His average of 8.42 any other season would have given him player of the season, but Amarildo has been too insane. Filhao scored 70 goals in 54 appearances, which is an insane return, again any other season for that alone he would be my player of the season.

Mahmadou Diawara, simply keeps getting better and better and he averaged just over 8.0 this season. He scored 55 goals this season which is another fantastic return especially in view of what he did last season. Diawara is almost certainly not going to be at the club next season, his wage demands are too much for us and the Portuguese clubs are swooping although at the time of writing he has been unable to agree terms with any of them. Regardless it is a brilliant way to go out.

I don't know if it says more about your managerial skills or the level of Angolan football in general, but very impressive season!

Of that question only time will tell. I think in Angola you have pretty good teams at the top of the table, but at the bottom they seem to be pretty terrible. Would be really hard to improve one of the teams at the bottom of the table.

Pretty excited about this signing. Jorge Brandao is 17 years old and already looks like he could challenge for a starting spot. We will see in the coming season whether he can break into what is a very potent strikeforce as it is. Diawara being released probably gives him a better chance.

Another solid striker comes in Olivier Madola from Kabuscorp. Started to think we probably don't need any more strikers now. Its up to the DoF, but he seems very concerned with that position despite goals not being hard to come by over the past few seasons.

February 2019

Feb was straightforward for us, winning has become such a habit at this stage that I am not surprised by much any more. We destroyed Maldives Pamplemousses 18-1 on aggregate in Champions League Prelims, and won according them media our most difficult game of the season pretty easily with a weakened team. The other games in the month we already covered. Great start as expected.

March 2019

March was an interesting month, everything going to plan. The Champions League gave us our greatest test as we lost to Ivorian outfit ASEC as they beat us in the Ivory Coast by 2-0, however we overturned the loss in the first game by storming back 5-1. I was a little worried that our Champions League experience was about to end early but very happy that we came back.

We are in 3rd in the league but that is owing to games in hand. Kabuscorp do appear to be the likely challengers her, with their record perfect apart from losing to us.

Our Champions League group pits us against Sundowns whom have won the last 3 editions of the competition, however we have beat them pretty easily in CAF Super Cup games so I am a little less worried having played them. SuperSport are also South African opposition so I have no reason to believe they are any better than Sundowns. Etoile have beaten us before and actually whom I am most concerned about in the group based on past meetings.

All league games this month, and we continued with our perfect record so far. A tough game against Primeiro de Agosto was probably the most difficult task but we came through despite being pretty leaky on the day.

We move to the top of the league and have a game in hand on Petro Atletico and Kabuscorp. Primeiro de Agosto are completely out of the running this season, looks like the media were right about their chances this season.

Zidane Catraio has gone out on loan to Primeiro de Agosto as he wasn't getting much game time for us. I think it shows the amazing way in which the dynamic in Angola has changed and we have become the most dominant force in the country. They loan in our bench players.

100% record, what more can I say. We managed to make the Champions League be little more than child's play in the end.

We are 11 points ahead and still have a 100% record. We are now very close to completing the most amazing season, 9 more wins and we will have completed an amazing feat.

Well perfection has been ruined by Primeiro de Agosto, despite them not performing too great in the league this season they still get a minor moral victory over us. We got through Cape Town City of South Africa in straightforward fashion in Champions League Quarter Final.

We are 7 points clear with a game in hand over Kabuscorp. Title should be a formality, however we have now lost the opportunity to go 30-0-0.
