Nozzle
Hi guys, Can somone explain to me the aspect of a Defensive Winger. ive never really used them before because just the sound of the title makes me think that they are just going to sit in front of the fullbacks. wether this is correct or not (its working for me at B Munich atm) i play a deep 4231 formation with one of the wingers on Defensive Winger with support. but when and what tactic is good for a Defensive Winger? Cheers Nozzle
dooter7th
ive just , for the first time started using def wingers .. they are amazing . they dont have free role which i think makes them perform better . im also using wingbacks so they over lap as the def winger does not stay wide
olivermain83
I've used them in a 3-5-2 as basically aggressive wingbacks and they worked really well. Never tried them in FB formations though.
Caddick7
If playing in the lower leagues, Scott Wagstaff is an absolutely quality defensive winger. Played him as an Defensive Winger (A) on the right side of a 4-1-2-2-1 and he scored 15+ goals and 10+ assists to. Linked up really well with the fullback behind him. Nozzle
Thanks for the replies. so do people think this could be used effectivley in a deep 4231 tactic? when the wingers are high up the pitch because i really like a team to press from every postion like suarez does for example. normally i would play them as inside forwards but since tacking notice of this role type its made me wonder what to do next. heddy
I use dw in my 3-5-2 tactic. Well, I saw cleons tactic and took it from there. The ideas anyway. Worked fine with Stoke. Finished 5th second season and won FA cup with just a 3 new signings. No wait, 4. *cheers*
